NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Then I saw another powerful angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in cloud, with a rainbow overhis head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were pillars of fire.	1 POI vidi un altro possente angelo, che scendeva dal cielo, intorniato d’una nuvola, sopra il capo del quale era l’arco celeste; e la sua faccia era come il sole, e i suoi piedi come colonne di fuoco;
2 In his hand he had a small scroll, unrol ed; he put his right foot in the sea and his left foot on the land	2 ed avea in mano un libretto aperto; ed egli posò il suo piè destro in sul mare, e il sinistro in su la terra;
3 and he shouted so loud, it was like a lion roaring. At this, the seven claps of thunder made themselvesheard	3 e gridò con gran voce, nella maniera che rugge il leone; e quando ebbe gridato, i sette tuoni proferirono le lor voci.
4 and when the seven thunderclaps had sounded, I was preparing to write, when I heard a voice fromheaven say to me, 'Keep the words of the seven thunderclaps secret and do not write them down.'	4 E quando i sette tuoni ebbero proferite le lor voci, io era pronto per iscriverle, ma io udii una voce dal cielo, che mi disse: Suggella le cose che i sette tuoni hanno proferite, e non iscriverle.
5 Then the angel that I had seen, standing on the sea and the land, raised his right hand to heaven,	5 E l’angelo, il quale io avea veduto stare in piè in sul mare, e in su la terra, levò la man destra al cielo;
6 and swore by him who lives for ever and ever, and made heaven and all that it contains, and earth andal it contains, and the sea and al it contains, 'The time of waiting is over;	6 e giurò per colui che vive ne’ secoli de’ secoli, il quale ha creato il cielo, e le cose che sono in esso; e la terra, e le cose che sono in essa; e il mare, e le cose che sono in esso, che non vi sarebbe più tempo.
7 at the time when the seventh angel is heard sounding his trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfil ed,just as he announced in the gospel to his servants the prophets.'	7 Ma, che al tempo del suono del settimo angelo, quando egli sonerebbe, si compierebbe il segreto di Dio, il quale egli ha annunziato a’ suoi servitori profeti
8 Then I heard the voice I had heard from heaven speaking to me again. 'Go', it said, 'and take thatopen scroll from the hand of the angel standing on sea and land.'	8 E la voce che io avea udita dal cielo parlò di nuovo meco, e disse: Va’, prendi il libretto aperto, che è in mano dell’angelo, che sta in sul mare, e in su la terra.
9 I went to the angel and asked him to give me the smal scrol , and he said, 'Take it and eat it; it wilturn your stomach sour, but it wil taste as sweet as honey.'	9 Ed io andai a quell’angelo, dicendogli: Dammi il libretto. Ed egli mi disse: Prendilo, e divoralo; ed esso ti recherà amaritudine al ventre; ma nella tua bocca sarà dolce come miele.
10 So I took it out of the angel's hand, and I ate it and it tasted sweet as honey, but when I had eaten itmy stomach turned sour.	10 Ed io presi il libretto di mano dell’angelo, e lo divorai; e mi fu dolce in bocca, come miele; ma, quando l’ebbi divorato, il mio ventre sentì amaritudine.
11 Then I was told, 'You are to prophesy again, this time against many different nations and countriesand languages and kings.'	11 Ed egli mi disse: Ei ti bisogna di nuovo profetizzare contro a molti popoli, e nazioni, e lingue, e re
