1 The first covenant also had its laws governing worship and its sanctuary, a sanctuary on this earth.	1 Certo, anche la prima alleanza aveva ordinamenti cultuali, come pure un santuario, ma terrestre.
2 There was a tent which comprised two compartments: the first, in which the lamp-stand, the table andthe loaves of permanent offering were kept, was cal ed the Holy Place;	2 Infatti fu preparata una tenda, la prima, nella quale vi erano il candelabro e la tavola e i pani esposti, la quale è detta il "santo".
3 then beyond the second veil, a second compartment which was called the Holy of Holies	3 Poi, dietro il secondo velo, vi era una tenda chiamata "santo dei santi",
4 to which belonged the gold altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant, plated al over with gold. Inthis were kept the gold jar containing the manna, Aaron's branch that grew the buds, and the tables of thecovenant.	4 contenente l'altare d'oro dell'incenso e l'arca dell'alleanza, d'ogni parte ricoperta d'oro, nella quale vi erano un'urna d'oro, che conteneva manna, e la verga di Aronne, che era fiorita, e le tavole dell'alleanza.
5 On top of it were the glorious winged creatures, overshadowing the throne of mercy. This is not the timeto go into detail about this.	5 Sopra di quella vi erano i cherubini di gloria che facevano ombra sul propiziatorio. Delle quali cose non è ora da discorrere in particolare.
6 Under these provisions, priests go regularly into the outer tent to carry out their acts of worship,	6 Essendo le cose così disposte, nella prima parte del tabernacolo entrano sempre i sacerdoti, quando hanno da compiere i servizi del culto.
7 but the second tent is entered only once a year, and then only by the high priest who takes in the bloodto make an offering for his own and the people's faults of inadvertence.	7 Invece nella seconda parte entra solo il sommo sacerdote, una volta l'anno, e non senza sangue, che egli offre per i peccati di ignoranza suoi e del popolo.
8 By this, the Holy Spirit means us to see that as long as the old tent stands, the way into the holy placeis not opened up;	8 Così lo Spirito Santo ha voluto mostrare che non era ancora aperta la via al santuario, finché rimaneva in piedi la prima tenda del tabernacolo,
9 it is a symbol for this present time. None of the gifts and sacrifices offered under these regulations canpossibly bring any worshipper to perfection in his conscience;	9 la quale è parabola del tempo presente. Secondo essa si offrono doni e sacrifici che non possono rendere perfetto secondo coscienza l'adoratore,
10 they are rules about outward life, connected with food and drink and washing at various times, whichare in force only until the time comes to set things right.	10 consistendo solo in cibi, bevande e molteplici abluzioni: ordinamenti carnali, imposti fino al tempo in cui sarebbero stati riformati.
11 But now Christ has come, as the high priest of al the blessings which were to come. He has passedthrough the greater, the more perfect tent, not made by human hands, that is, not of this created order;	11 Cristo invece, apparso come sommo sacerdote dei beni futuri, per una tenda più grande e più perfetta, non manufatta, cioè non di questa creazione,
12 and he has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with him not the blood of goats and bulcalves, but his own blood, having won an eternal redemption.	12 né mediante sangue di capri e di vitelli, ma in virtù del proprio sangue è entrato nel santuario una volta per tutte, perché ha trovato un riscatto eterno.
13 The blood of goats and bul s and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkled on those who have incurreddefilement, may restore their bodily purity.	13 Infatti se il sangue dei capri e dei tori e la cenere di vacca aspersa sui contaminati li santificano, purificandoli nella carne,
14 How much more wil the blood of Christ, who offered himself, blameless as he was, to God throughthe eternal Spirit, purify our conscience from dead actions so that we can worship the living God.	14 quanto più il sangue di Cristo, il quale mediante uno spirito eterno ha offerto se stesso senza macchia a Dio, purificherà la vostra coscienza dalle opere morte per servire al Dio vivo!
15 This makes him the mediator of a new covenant, so that, now that a death has occurred to redeem thesins committed under an earlier covenant, those who have been cal ed to an eternal inheritance may receive thepromise.	15 Perciò egli è il mediatore dell'alleanza nuova, affinché, essendo intervenuta una morte in redenzione delle trasgressioni commesse sotto la prima alleanza, i chiamati ricevessero la promessa dell'eredità eterna.
16 Now wherever a wil is in question, the death of the testator must be established;	16 Ove infatti vi è un testamento, è necessario che venga denunziata la morte del testatore,
17 a testament comes into effect only after a death, since it has no force while the testator is stil alive.	17 perché il testamento è valido solo in caso di morte, dal momento che non ha nessuna forza finché è in vita il testatore.
18 That is why even the earlier covenant was inaugurated with blood,	18 Di qui deriva che neppure la prima alleanza è stata sancita senza sangue.
19 and why, after Moses had promulgated al the commandments of the Law to the people, he took thecalves' blood, the goats' blood and some water, and with these he sprinkled the book itself and all the people,using scarlet wool and hyssop;	19 Infatti, dopo che da Mosè fu proclamato a tutto il popolo ogni comandamento, secondo la legge, egli, preso il sangue dei vitelli e dei capri, con acqua e con lana scarlatta e con issopo asperse il libro stesso e tutto il popolo
20 saying as he did so: This is the blood of the covenant that God has made with you.	20 dicendo: Questo è il sangue dell'alleanza che Dio ha prescritto per voi.
21 And he sprinkled both the tent and all the liturgical vessels with blood in the same way.	21 Nella stessa maniera asperse di sangue anche il tabernacolo e tutti gli utensili del culto.
22 In fact, according to the Law, practical y every purification takes place by means of blood; and if thereis no shedding of blood, there is no remission.	22 E, secondo la legge, quasi tutte le cose vengono purificate col sangue, e senza effusione di sangue non vi è remissione.
23 Only the copies of heavenly things are purified in this way; the heavenly things themselves have to bepurified by a higher sort of sacrifice than this.	23 E' necessario dunque che le figure delle cose che sono nei cieli siano purificate con queste aspersioni; le cose celesti stesse con sacrifici più perfetti di quelli.
24 It is not as though Christ had entered a man-made sanctuary which was merely a model of the realone; he entered heaven itself, so that he now appears in the presence of God on our behalf.	24 Cristo infatti non è entrato in un santuario fatto da mano d'uomo, antitipo del vero, ma nel cielo stesso, allo scopo di presentarsi ora davanti alla faccia di Dio per noi,
25 And he does not have to offer himself again and again, as the high priest goes into the sanctuary yearafter year with the blood that is not his own,	25 non per offrire se stesso parecchie volte, come il sommo sacerdote entra nel santuario ogni anno col sangue di un altro,
26 or else he would have had to suffer over and over again since the world began. As it is, he has madehis appearance once and for al , at the end of the last age, to do away with sin by sacrificing himself.	26 altrimenti egli avrebbe dovuto patire parecchie volte fin dalla creazione del mondo. Ora invece egli una volta sola, nella pienezza dei tempi, si è manifestato col sacrificio di se stesso per l'annullamento del peccato.
27 Since human beings die only once, after which comes judgement,	27 E come è stabilito per gli uomini di morire una volta sola, dopo di che viene il giudizio,
28 so Christ too, having offered himself only once to bear the sin of many, will manifest himself a secondtime, sin being no more, to those who are waiting for him, to bring them salvation.	28 così anche Cristo una volta sola è stato offerto per levar via i peccati di molti, e apparirà una seconda volta, senza peccato, per quelli che lo attendono, per la salvezza.
