1 The first covenant also had its laws governing worship and its sanctuary, a sanctuary on this earth.	1 También la primera Alianza tenía sus ritos litúrgicos y su santuario terreno.
2 There was a tent which comprised two compartments: the first, in which the lamp-stand, the table andthe loaves of permanent offering were kept, was cal ed the Holy Place;	2 Porque se preparó la parte anterior de la Tienda, donde se hallaban el candelabro y la mesa con los panes de la presencia, que se llama Santo.
3 then beyond the second veil, a second compartment which was called the Holy of Holies	3 Detrás del segundo velo se hallaba la parte de la Tienda llamada Santo de los Santos,
4 to which belonged the gold altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant, plated al over with gold. Inthis were kept the gold jar containing the manna, Aaron's branch that grew the buds, and the tables of thecovenant.	4 que contenía el altar de oro para el incienso, el arca de la Alianza - completamente cubierta de oro - y en ella, la urna de oro con el maná, la vara de Aarón que retoño y las tablas de la Alianza.
5 On top of it were the glorious winged creatures, overshadowing the throne of mercy. This is not the timeto go into detail about this.	5 Encima del arca, los querubines de gloria que cubrían con su sombra el propiciatorio. Mas no es éste el momento de hablar de todo ello en detalle.
6 Under these provisions, priests go regularly into the outer tent to carry out their acts of worship,	6 Preparadas así estas cosas, los sacerdotes entran siempre en la primera parte de la Tienda para desempeñar las funciones del culto.
7 but the second tent is entered only once a year, and then only by the high priest who takes in the bloodto make an offering for his own and the people's faults of inadvertence.	7 Pero en la segunda parte entra una vez al año, y solo, el Sumo Sacerdote, y no sin sangre que ofrecer por sí mismo y por los pecados del pueblo.
8 By this, the Holy Spirit means us to see that as long as the old tent stands, the way into the holy placeis not opened up;	8 De esa manera daba a entender el Espíritu Santo que aún no estaba abierto el camino del santuario mientras subsistiera la primera Tienda.
9 it is a symbol for this present time. None of the gifts and sacrifices offered under these regulations canpossibly bring any worshipper to perfection in his conscience;	9 Todo ello es una figura del tiempo presente, en cuanto que allí se ofrecen dones y sacrificios incapaces de perfeccionar en su conciencia al adorador,
10 they are rules about outward life, connected with food and drink and washing at various times, whichare in force only until the time comes to set things right.	10 y sólo son prescripciones carnales, que versan sobre comidas y bebidas y sobre abluciones de todo género, impuestas hasta el tiempo de la reforma.
11 But now Christ has come, as the high priest of al the blessings which were to come. He has passedthrough the greater, the more perfect tent, not made by human hands, that is, not of this created order;	11 Pero presentóse Cristo como Sumo Sacerdote de los bienes futuros, a través de una Tienda mayor y más perfecta, no fabricada por mano de hombre, es decir, no de este mundo.
12 and he has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with him not the blood of goats and bulcalves, but his own blood, having won an eternal redemption.	12 Y penetró en el santuario una vez para siempre, no con sangre de machos cabríos ni de novillos, sino con su propia sangre, consiguiendo una redención eterna.
13 The blood of goats and bul s and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkled on those who have incurreddefilement, may restore their bodily purity.	13 Pues si la sangre de machos cabríos y de toros y la ceniza de vaca santifica con su aspersión a los contaminados, en orden a la purificación de la carne,
14 How much more wil the blood of Christ, who offered himself, blameless as he was, to God throughthe eternal Spirit, purify our conscience from dead actions so that we can worship the living God.	14 ¡cuánto más la sangre de Cristo, que por el Espíritu Eterno se ofreció a sí mismo sin tacha a Dios, purificará de las obras muertas nuestra conciencia para rendir culto a Dios vivo!
15 This makes him the mediator of a new covenant, so that, now that a death has occurred to redeem thesins committed under an earlier covenant, those who have been cal ed to an eternal inheritance may receive thepromise.	15 Por eso es mediador de una nueva Alianza; para que, interviniendo su muerte para remisión de las transgresiones de la primera Alianza, los que han sido llamados reciban la herencia eterna prometida.
16 Now wherever a wil is in question, the death of the testator must be established;	16 Pues donde hay testamento se requiere que conste la muerte del testador,
17 a testament comes into effect only after a death, since it has no force while the testator is stil alive.	17 ya que el testamento es válido en caso de defunción, no teniendo valor en vida del testador.
18 That is why even the earlier covenant was inaugurated with blood,	18 Así tampoco la primera Alianza se inauguró sin sangre.
19 and why, after Moses had promulgated al the commandments of the Law to the people, he took thecalves' blood, the goats' blood and some water, and with these he sprinkled the book itself and all the people,using scarlet wool and hyssop;	19 Pues Moisés, después de haber leído a todo el pueblo todos los preceptos según la Ley, tomó la sangre de los novillos y machos cabríos con agua, lana escarlata e hisopo, y roció el libro mismo y a todo el pueblo
20 saying as he did so: This is the blood of the covenant that God has made with you.	20 diciendo: Esta es la sangre de la Alianza que Dios ha ordenado para vosotros.
21 And he sprinkled both the tent and all the liturgical vessels with blood in the same way.	21 Igualmente roció con sangre la Tienda y todos los objetos del culto;
22 In fact, according to the Law, practical y every purification takes place by means of blood; and if thereis no shedding of blood, there is no remission.	22 pues según la Ley, casi todas las cosas han de ser purificadas con sangre, y sin efusión de sangre no hay remisión.
23 Only the copies of heavenly things are purified in this way; the heavenly things themselves have to bepurified by a higher sort of sacrifice than this.	23 En consecuencia, es necesario, por una parte, que las figuras de las realidades celestiales sean purificadas de esa manera; por otra parte, que también lo sean las realidades celestiales, pero con víctimas más excelentes que aquéllas.
24 It is not as though Christ had entered a man-made sanctuary which was merely a model of the realone; he entered heaven itself, so that he now appears in the presence of God on our behalf.	24 Pues no penetró Cristo en un santuario hecho por mano de hombre, en una reproducción del verdadero, sino en el mismo cielo, para presentarse ahora ante el acatamiento de Dios en favor nuestro,
25 And he does not have to offer himself again and again, as the high priest goes into the sanctuary yearafter year with the blood that is not his own,	25 y no para ofrecerse a sí mismo repetidas veces al modo como el Sumo Sacerdote entra cada año en el santuario con sangre ajena.
26 or else he would have had to suffer over and over again since the world began. As it is, he has madehis appearance once and for al , at the end of the last age, to do away with sin by sacrificing himself.	26 Para ello habría tenido que sufrir muchas veces desde la creación del mundo. Sino que se ha manifestado ahora una sola vez, en la plenitud de los tiempos, para la destrucción del pecado mediante su sacrificio.
27 Since human beings die only once, after which comes judgement,	27 Y del mismo modo que está establecido que los hombres mueran una sola vez, y luego el juicio,
28 so Christ too, having offered himself only once to bear the sin of many, will manifest himself a secondtime, sin being no more, to those who are waiting for him, to bring them salvation.	28 así también Cristo, después de haberse ofrecido una sola vez para quitar los pecados de la multitud, se aparecerá por segunda vez sin relación ya con el pecado a los que le esperan para su salvación.
