NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 At many moments in the past and by many means, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets;but	1 Deus, tendo falado outrora muitas vezes e de muitos modos a nossos pais pelos profetas,
2 in our time, the final days, he has spoken to us in the person of his Son, whom he appointed heir of althings and through whom he made the ages.	2 nestes dias, que são os últimos, falou-nos por meio de seu Filho, a quem constituiu herdeiro de tudo, por quem criou o mundo,
3 He is the reflection of God's glory and bears the impress of God's own being, sustaining all things byhis powerful command; and now that he has purged sins away, he has taken his seat at the right hand of thedivine Majesty on high.	3 o qual (Filho), sendo o resplendor da sua glória e a figura da sua substância, sustentando tudo com a sua poderosa palavra, depois de ter feito a purificação dos pecados (dos homens com os seus sofrimentos) está sentado (como homem) à direita da majestade (de Deus) nas alturas,
4 So he is now as far above the angels as the title which he has inherited is higher than their own name.	4 feito tanto mais superior aos anjos, quanto o nome que herdou é mais excelente que o deles.
5 To which of the angels, then, has God ever said: You are my Son, today I have fathered you, or: I shalbe a father to him and he a son to me?	5 Com efeito, a qual dos anjos disse (Deus) jamais : Tu és meu filho, eu te gerei hoje (Ps. 2, 7)? E outra vez: Eu serei para ele um Pai, e ele será para mim um Filho (2Sm. 7, 14).
6 Again, when he brings the First-born into the world, he says: Let all the angels of God pay him homage.	6 E, novamente, quando introduz o seu Primogênito no mundo, diz : Todos os anjos de Deus o adorem (Ps. 96, 7).
7 To the angels, he says: appointing the winds his messengers and flames of fire his servants,	7 Acerca dos anjos diz: Ele faz dos seus anjos sopros de vento, e dos seus ministros chamas ardentes (Ps. 103, 4).
8 but to the Son he says: Your throne, God, is for ever and ever; and: the sceptre of his kingdom is asceptre of justice;	8 Mas ao Filho diz: O teu trono ó Deus, subsistirá pelos séculos dos séculos; é um ceptro de equidade o ceptro do teu reino.
9 you love uprightness and detest evil. This is why God, your God, has anointed you with the oil ofgladness, as none of your rivals.	9 Amaste a justiça e aborreceste a iniquidade, por isso. Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria, de preferência aos teus companheiros (Ps. 44, 7-8).
10 And again: Long ago, Lord, you laid earth's foundations, the heavens are the work of your hands.	10 E noutro lugar: Tu, Senhor, no principio fundaste a terra, e o céus são obra das tuas mãos.
11 They pass away but you remain, they al wear out like a garment.	11 Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás, e todos envelhecerão como um vestido;
12 Like a cloak you wil rol them up, like a garment, and they wil be changed. But you never alter andyour years are unending.	12 tu os enrolarás como uma capa, e eles, como uma veste, serão mudados; tu porém és sempre o mesmo e os teus anos não terão fim (Ps. 101, 26-28).
13 To which of the angels has God ever said: Take your seat at my right hand til I have made yourenemies your footstool?	13 E a qual dos anjos disse alguma vez: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha os teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés (Ps. 109, 1)?
14 Are they not al ministering spirits, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?	14 Porventura não são todos espíritos destinados a servir, enviados para exercer o seu ministério a favor daqueles que hão-de receber a herança da salvação?
