1 The portion of the sons of Joseph started on the east at the Jordan opposite Jericho (the Waters ofJericho) through the desert rising from Jericho into the highlands of Bethel;	1 Il territorio toccato in sorte ai figli di Giuseppe si estendeva dal Giordano di Gerico verso le acque di Gerico a oriente, seguendo il deserto che per la montagna sale da Gerico a Betel.
2 from Bethel it went to Luz, and on towards the frontier of the Archites at Ataroth;	2 Il confine continuava poi da Betel a Luz e correva lungo il confine degli Architi ad Ataròt;
3 then passed downwards and westwards to the frontier of the Japhletites as far as the border of LowerBeth-Horon and on to Gezer, and reached as far as the sea.	3 scendeva a occidente verso il confine degli Iafletiti, fino al confine di Bet-Oron inferiore e fino a Ghezer, e faceva capo al mare.
4 Such was the heritage of the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim.	4 I figli di Giuseppe, Manasse ed Èfraim, ebbero così la loro eredità.
5 As regards the territory of the sons of Ephraim, by clans, the frontier of their heritage ran from Ataroth-Arach to Upper Beth-Horon;	5 Questi erano i confini dei figli di Èfraim, secondo i loro casati. Il confine della loro eredità era a oriente Atròt-Addar, fino a Bet-Oron superiore;
6 the frontier then reached as far as the sea . . . the Michmethath in the north, and the frontier turnedeast to Tanaath-Shiloh which it crossed in an easterly direction to Janoah;	6 continuava fino al mare, dal lato occidentale, verso Micmetàt a settentrione, girava a oriente verso Taanat-Silo e le passava davanti a oriente di Ianòach.
7 it ran down to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and ended at the Jordan.	7 Poi da Ianòach scendeva ad Ataròt e a Naarà, toccava Gerico e faceva capo al Giordano.
8 From Tappuah, the frontier ran westwards to the Torrent of Kanah and reached as far as the sea. Suchwas the heritage of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by clans,	8 Da Tappùach il confine andava verso occidente fino al torrente Kana e terminava al mare. Tale era l’eredità della tribù dei figli di Èfraim, secondo i loro casati,
9 apart from the towns reserved for the sons of Ephraim inside the heritage of the sons of Manasseh, althese towns and their villages.	9 incluse le città riservate ai figli di Èfraim in mezzo all’eredità dei figli di Manasse, tutte le città e i loro villaggi.
10 The Canaanites living in Gezer were not driven out; they have remained in Ephraim to the presentday but are obliged to do forced labour.	10 Essi non scacciarono i Cananei che abitavano a Ghezer; i Cananei hanno abitato in mezzo ad Èfraim fino ad oggi, ma sono costretti al lavoro coatto da schiavi.
