Acts of the Apostles 4

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 While they were stil talking to the people the priests came up to them, accompanied by the captain ofthe Temple and the Sadducees.	1 وبينما هما يخاطبان الشعب اقبل عليهما الكهنة وقائد جند الهيكل والصدوقيون
2 They were extremely annoyed at their teaching the people the resurrection from the dead by proclaimingthe resurrection of Jesus.	2 متضجرين من تعليمهما الشعب وندائهما في يسوع بالقيامة من الاموات.
3 They arrested them, and, as it was already late, they kept them in prison till the next day.	3 فالقوا عليهما الايادي ووضعوهما في حبس الى الغد لانه كان قد صار المساء‎.
4 But many of those who had listened to their message became believers; the total number of men hadnow risen to something like five thousand.	4 ‎وكثيرون من الذين سمعوا الكلمة آمنوا وصار عدد الرجال نحو خمسة آلاف
5 It happened that the next day the rulers, elders and scribes held a meeting in Jerusalem	5 وحدث في الغد ان رؤساءهم وشيوخهم وكتبتهم اجتمعوا الى اورشليم
6 with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, Jonathan, Alexander and al the members of the high-priestlyfamilies.	6 مع حنان رئيس الكهنة وقيافا ويوحنا والاسكندر وجميع الذين كانوا من عشيرة رؤساء الكهنة‎.
7 They made the prisoners stand in the middle and began to interrogate them, 'By what power, and bywhose name have you men done this?'	7 ‎ولما اقاموهما في الوسط جعلوا يسألونهما باية قوة وباي اسم صنعتما انتما هذا‎.
8 Then Peter, fil ed with the Holy Spirit, addressed them, 'Rulers of the people, and elders!	8 ‎حينئذ امتلأ بطرس من الروح القدس وقال لهم يا رؤساء الشعب وشيوخ اسرائيل
9 If you are questioning us today about an act of kindness to a cripple and asking us how he was healed,	9 ان كنا نفحص اليوم عن احسان الى انسان سقيم بماذا شفي هذا
10 you must know, all of you, and the whole people of Israel, that it is by the name of Jesus Christ theNazarene, whom you crucified, and God raised from the dead, by this name and by no other that this manstands before you cured.	10 فليكن معلوما عند جميعكم وجميع شعب اسرائيل انه باسم يسوع المسيح الناصري الذي صلبتموه انتم الذي اقامه الله من الاموات. بذاك وقف هذا امامكم صحيحا‎.
11 This is the stone which you, the builders, rejected but which has become the cornerstone. Only in himis there salvation;	11 ‎هذا هو الحجر الذي احتقرتموه ايها البناؤون الذي صار راس الزاوية.
12 for of al the names in the world given to men, this is the only one by which we can be saved.'	12 وليس باحد غيره الخلاص. لان ليس اسم آخر تحت السماء قد أعطي بين الناس به ينبغي ان نخلص
13 They were astonished at the fearlessness shown by Peter and John, considering that they wereuneducated laymen; and they recognised them as associates of Jesus;	13 فلما رأوا مجاهرة بطرس ويوحنا ووجدوا انهما انسانان عديما العلم وعاميّان تعجبوا. فعرفوهما انهما كانا مع يسوع‎.
14 but when they saw the man who had been cured standing by their side, they could find no answer.	14 ‎ولكن اذ نظروا الانسان الذي شفي واقفا معهما لم يكن لهم شيء يناقضون به‎.
15 So they ordered them to stand outside while the Sanhedrin had a private discussion.	15 ‎فامروهما ان يخرجا الى خارج المجمع وتآمروا فيما بينهم
16 'What are we going to do with these men?' they asked. 'It is obvious to everybody in Jerusalem that anotable miracle has been worked through them, and we cannot deny it.	16 قائلين. ماذا نفعل بهذين الرجلين. لانه ظاهر لجميع سكان اورشليم ان آية معلومة قد جرت بايديهما ولا نقدر ان ننكر‏‎.
17 But to stop the whole thing spreading any further among the people, let us threaten them against everspeaking to anyone in this name again.'	17 ‎ولكن لئلا تشيع اكثر في الشعب لنهددهما تهديدا ان لا يكلما احدا من الناس فيما بعد بهذا الاسم‎.
18 So they cal ed them in and gave them a warning on no account to make statements or to teach in thename of Jesus.	18 ‎فدعوهما واوصوهما ان لا ينطقا البتة ولا يعلّما باسم يسوع
19 But Peter and John retorted, 'You must judge whether in God's eyes it is right to listen to you and not toGod.	19 فاجابهم بطرس ويوحنا وقالا ان كان حقا امام الله ان نسمع لكم اكثر من الله فاحكموا‎.
20 We cannot stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard.'	20 ‎لاننا نحن لا يمكننا ان لا نتكلم بما رأينا وسمعنا‎.
21 The court repeated the threats and then released them; they could not think of any way to punish them,since al the people were giving glory to God for what had happened.	21 ‎وبعدما هددوهما ايضا اطلقوهما اذ لم يجدوا البتة كيف يعاقبونهما بسبب الشعب. لان الجميع كانوا يمجدون الله على ما جرى‎.
22 The man who had been miraculously cured was over forty years old.	22 ‎لان الانسان الذي صارت فيه آية الشفاء هذه كان له اكثر من اربعين سنة
23 As soon as they were released they went to the community and told them everything the chief priestsand elders had said to them.	23 ولما اطلقا أتيا الى رفقائهما واخبراهم بكل ما قاله لهما رؤساء الكهنة والشيوخ‎.
24 When they heard it they lifted up their voice to God with one heart. 'Master,' they prayed, 'it is you who made sky and earth and sea, and everything in them;	24 ‎فلما سمعوا رفعوا بنفس واحدة صوتا الى الله وقالوا ايها السيد انت هو الاله الصانع السماء والارض والبحر وكل ما فيها‎.
25 it is you who said through the Holy Spirit and speaking through our ancestor David, your servant: Whythis uproar among the nations, this impotent muttering of the peoples?	25 ‎القائل بفم داود فتاك لماذا ارتجّت الامم وتفكر الشعوب بالباطل‎.
26 Kings on earth take up position, princes plot together against the Lord and his Anointed.	26 ‎قامت ملوك الارض واجتمع الرؤساء معا على الرب وعلى مسيحه‎.
27 'This is what has come true: in this very city Herod and Pontius Pilate plotted together with the gentilenations and the peoples of Israel, against your holy servant Jesus whom you anointed,	27 ‎لانه بالحقيقة اجتمع على فتاك القدوس الذي مسحته هيرودس وبيلاطس البنطي مع امم وشعوب اسرائيل
28 to bring about the very thing that you in your strength and your wisdom had predetermined shouldhappen.	28 ليفعلوا كل ما سبقت فعيّنت يدك ومشورتك ان يكون‏‎.
29 And now, Lord, take note of their threats and help your servants to proclaim your message with alfearlessness,	29 ‎والآن يا رب انظر الى تهديداتهم وامنح عبيدك ان يتكلموا بكلامك بكل مجاهرة
30 by stretching out your hand to heal and to work miracles and marvels through the name of your holyservant Jesus.'	30 بمد يدك للشفاء ولتجر آيات وعجائب باسم فتاك القدوس يسوع‎.
31 As they prayed, the house where they were assembled rocked. From this time they were all fil ed withthe Holy Spirit and began to proclaim the word of God fearlessly.	31 ‎ولما صلّوا تزعزع المكان الذي كانوا مجتمعين فيه. وامتلأ الجميع من الروح القدس وكانوا يتكلمون بكلام الله بمجاهرة
32 The whole group of believers was united, heart and soul; no one claimed private ownership of anypossessions, as everything they owned was held in common.	32 وكان لجمهور الذين آمنوا قلب واحد ونفس واحدة. ولم يكن احد يقول ان شيئا من امواله له بل كان عندهم كل شيء مشتركا‎.
33 The apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and they wereal accorded great respect.	33 ‎وبقوة عظيمة كان الرسل يؤدون الشهادة بقيامة الرب يسوع ونعمة عظيمة كانت على جميعهم‎.
34 None of their members was ever in want, as al those who owned land or houses would sel them, andbring the money from the sale of them,	34 ‎اذ لم يكن فيهم احد محتاجا لان كل الذين كانوا اصحاب حقول او بيوت كانوا يبيعونها ويأتون باثمان المبيعات
35 to present it to the apostles; it was then distributed to any who might be in need.	35 ويضعونها عند ارجل الرسل فكان يوزع على كل واحد كما يكون له احتياج‎.
36 There was a Levite of Cypriot origin called Joseph whom the apostles surnamed Barnabas (whichmeans 'son of encouragement').	36 ‎ويوسف الذي دعي من الرسل برنابا الذي يترجم ابن الوعظ وهو لاوي قبرسي الجنس
37 He owned a piece of land and he sold it and brought the money and presented it to the apostles.	37 اذ كان له حقل باعه وأتى بالدراهم ووضعها عند ارجل الرسل
