John 15

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.	1 "Io sono la vera vite e il Padre mio è l'agricoltore.
2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit he cuts away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunesto make it bear even more.	2 Ogni tralcio che in me non porta frutto, lo recide, e ogni tralcio che porta frutto lo monda, perché porti maggior frutto.
3 You are clean already, by means of the word that I have spoken to you.	3 Voi siete già mondi per la parola che vi ho annunciata.
4 Remain in me, as I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself, unless it remains part of the vine,neither can you unless you remain in me.	4 Rimanete in me come io in voi. Come il tralcio non può portare frutto da se stesso, se non rimane nella vite, così nemmeno voi, se non rimanete in me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; forcut off from me you can do nothing.	5 Io sono la vite, voi i tralci. Chi rimane in me e io in lui, questi porta molto frutto, perché senza di me non potete far nulla.
6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a branch -- and withers; these branches arecol ected and thrown on the fire and are burnt.	6 Se qualcuno non rimane in me, è gettato fuori come il tralcio e si dissecca; poi li si raccoglie e li si getta nel fuoco e bruciano.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for whatever you please and you wilget it.	7 Se rimanete in me e le mie parole rimangono in voi, chiedete pure quello che volete e vi sarà fatto.
8 It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and be my disciples.	8 In questo è stato glorificato il Padre mio, che voi portiate molto frutto e diventiate miei discepoli".
9 I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.	9 "Come il Padre ha amato me, così io ho amato voi. Rimanete nel mio amore!
10 If you keep my commandments you wil remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father'scommandments and remain in his love.	10 Se osserverete i miei comandamenti, rimarrete nel mio amore, come io ho osservato i comandamenti del Padre mio e rimango nel suo amore.
11 I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete.	11 Questo vi ho detto affinché la mia gioia sia in voi e la vostra gioia giunga alla pienezza.
12 This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.	12 Questo è il mio comandamento: che vi amiate gli uni gli altri come io ho amato voi.
13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.	13 Nessuno ha un amore più grande di questo: dare la vita per i suoi amici.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.	14 Voi siete miei amici se fate ciò che io vi comando.
15 I shall no longer cal you servants, because a servant does not know the master's business; I cal youfriends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.	15 Non vi chiamo più servi, perché il servo non sa ciò che fa il padrone. Vi ho chiamati amici, perché tutto quello che ho udito dal Padre mio ve l'ho fatto conoscere.
16 You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit thatwil last; so that the Father wil give you anything you ask him in my name.	16 Non voi avete eletto me, ma io ho eletto voi e vi ho costituiti perché andiate e portiate frutto e il vostro frutto rimanga, affinché qualsiasi cosa chiediate al Padre nel mio nome ve la dia.
17 My command to you is to love one another.	17 Questo vi comando: che vi amiate gli uni gli altri".
18 If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated me before it hated you.	18 "Se il mondo vi odia, sappiate che ha odiato me prima di voi.
19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong tothe world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you.	19 Se foste del mondo, il mondo amerebbe ciò che gli appartiene. Poiché invece non siete del mondo, ma io vi ho eletti dal mondo, per questo il mondo vi odia.
20 Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me,they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as wel .	20 Ricordate la parola che io vi dissi: "Non c'è servo più grande del suo padrone". Se hanno perseguitato me, perseguiteranno anche voi. Se hanno osservato la mia parola, anche la vostra osserveranno.
21 But it wil be on my account that they will do al this to you, because they do not know the one whosent me.	21 Ma tutte queste cose faranno a voi a causa del mio nome, perché non conoscono Colui che mi ha mandato.
22 If I had not come, if I had not spoken to them, they would have been blameless; but as it is they haveno excuse for their sin.	22 Se non fossi venuto e non avessi parlato loro, non avrebbero peccato. Ora invece non hanno scusa per il loro peccato.
23 Anyone who hates me hates my Father.	23 Chi mi odia, odia anche il Padre mio.
24 If I had not performed such works among them as no one else has ever done, they would beblameless; but as it is, in spite of what they have seen, they hate both me and my Father.	24 Se in mezzo a loro non avessi fatto le opere, che nessun altro ha fatto, non avrebbero peccato. Ora invece hanno visto e hanno odiato me e il Padre mio.
25 But al this was only to fulfil the words written in their Law: They hated me without reason.	25 Ma è perché si compisse la parola scritta nella loro legge: Mi hanno odiato senza ragione".
26 When the Paraclete comes, whom I shal send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who issuesfrom the Father, he wil be my witness.	26 "Quando verrà il Paraclito che vi manderò dal Padre, lo Spirito di verità che procede dal Padre, egli mi darà testimonianza;
27 And you too will be witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning.	27 e anche voi mi renderete testimonianza, perché siete con me fin dall'inizio.
