John 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.	1 «Yo soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el viñador.
2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit he cuts away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunesto make it bear even more.	2 Todo sarmiento que en mí no da fruto, lo corta, y todo el que da fruto, lo limpia, para que dé más fruto.
3 You are clean already, by means of the word that I have spoken to you.	3 Vosotros estáis ya limpios gracias a la Palabra que os he anunciado.
4 Remain in me, as I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself, unless it remains part of the vine,neither can you unless you remain in me.	4 Permaneced en mí, como yo en vosotros. Lo mismo que el sarmiento no puede dar fruto por sí mismo, si no permanece en la vid; así tampoco vosotros si no permanecéis en mí.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; forcut off from me you can do nothing.	5 Yo soy la vid; vosotros los sarmientos. El que permanece en mí y yo en él, ése da mucho fruto; porque separados de mí no podéis hacer nada.
6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a branch -- and withers; these branches arecol ected and thrown on the fire and are burnt.	6 Si alguno no permanece en mí, es arrojado fuera, como el sarmiento, y se seca; luego los recogen, los echan al fuego y arden.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for whatever you please and you wilget it.	7 Si permanecéis en mí, y mis palabras permanecen en vosotros, pedid lo que queráis y lo conseguiréis.
8 It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and be my disciples.	8 La gloria de mi Padre está en que deis mucho fruto, y seáis mis discípulos.
9 I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.	9 Como el Padre me amó, yo también os he amado a vosotros; permaneced en mi amor.
10 If you keep my commandments you wil remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father'scommandments and remain in his love.	10 Si guardáis mis mandamientos, permaneceréis en mi amor, como yo he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre, y permanezco en su amor.
11 I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete.	11 Os he dicho esto, para que mi gozo esté en vosotros, y vuestro gozo sea colmado.
12 This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.	12 Este es el mandamiento mío: que os améis los unos a los otros como yo os he amado.
13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.	13 Nadie tiene mayor amor que el que da su vida por sus amigos.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.	14 Vosotros sois mis amigos, si hacéis lo que yo os mando.
15 I shall no longer cal you servants, because a servant does not know the master's business; I cal youfriends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.	15 No os llamo ya siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su amo; a vosotros os he llamado amigos, porque todo lo que he oído a mi Padre os lo he dado a conocer.
16 You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit thatwil last; so that the Father wil give you anything you ask him in my name.	16 No me habéis elegido vosotros a mí, sino que yo os he elegido a vosotros, y os he destinado para que vayáis y deis fruto, y que vuestro fruto permanezca; de modo que todo lo que pidáis al Padre en mi nombre os lo conceda.
17 My command to you is to love one another.	17 Lo que os mando es que os améis los unos a los otros».
18 If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated me before it hated you.	18 «Si el mundo os odia, sabed que a mí me ha odiado antes que a vosotros.
19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong tothe world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you.	19 Su fuerais del mundo, el mundo amaría lo suyo; pero, como no sois del mundo, porque yo al elegiros os he sacado del mundo, por eso os odia el mundo.
20 Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me,they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as wel .	20 Acordaos de la palabra que os he dicho: El siervo no es más que su señor. Si a mí me han perseguido, también os perseguirán a vosotros; si han guardado mi Palabra, también la vuestra guardarán.
21 But it wil be on my account that they will do al this to you, because they do not know the one whosent me.	21 Pero todo esto os lo harán por causa de mi nombre, porque no conocen al que me ha enviado.
22 If I had not come, if I had not spoken to them, they would have been blameless; but as it is they haveno excuse for their sin.	22 Si yo no hubiera venido y no les hubiera hablado, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora no tienen excusa de su pecado.
23 Anyone who hates me hates my Father.	23 El que me odia, odia también a mi Padre.
24 If I had not performed such works among them as no one else has ever done, they would beblameless; but as it is, in spite of what they have seen, they hate both me and my Father.	24 Si no hubiera hecho entre ellos obras que no ha hecho ningún otro, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora las han visto, y nos odian a mí y a mi Padre.
25 But al this was only to fulfil the words written in their Law: They hated me without reason.	25 Pero es para que se cumpla lo que está escrito en su Ley: Me han odiado sin motivo.
26 When the Paraclete comes, whom I shal send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who issuesfrom the Father, he wil be my witness.	26 Cuando venga el Paráclito, que yo os enviaré de junto al Padre, el Espíritu de la verdad, que procede del Padre, él dará testimonio de mí.
27 And you too will be witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning.	27 Pero también vosotros daréis testimonio, porque estáis conmigo desde el principio.
