John 15

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.	1 «Yo soy la verdadera vid y mi Padre es el viñador.
2 Every branch in me that bears no fruit he cuts away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunesto make it bear even more.	2 El corta todos mis sarmientos que no dan fruto; al que da fruto, lo poda para que dé más todavía.
3 You are clean already, by means of the word that I have spoken to you.	3 Ustedes ya están limpios por la palabra que yo les anuncié.
4 Remain in me, as I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself, unless it remains part of the vine,neither can you unless you remain in me.	4 Permanezcan en mí, como yo permanezco en ustedes. Así como el sarmiento no puede dar fruto si no permanece en la vid, tampoco ustedes, si no permanecen en mí.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty; forcut off from me you can do nothing.	5 Yo soy la vid, ustedes los sarmientos El que permanece en mí, y yo en él, da mucho fruto, porque separados de mí, nada pueden hacer.
6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a branch -- and withers; these branches arecol ected and thrown on the fire and are burnt.	6 Pero el que no permanece en mí, es como el sarmiento que se tira y se seca; después se recoge, se arroja al fuego y arde.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for whatever you please and you wilget it.	7 Si ustedes permanecen en mí y mis palabras permanecen en ustedes, pidan lo que quieran y lo obtendrán.
8 It is to the glory of my Father that you should bear much fruit and be my disciples.	8 La gloria de mi Padre consiste en que ustedes den fruto abundante, y así sean mis discípulos.
9 I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.	9 Como el Padre me amó, también yo los he amado a ustedes. Permanezcan en mi amor.
10 If you keep my commandments you wil remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father'scommandments and remain in his love.	10 Si cumplen mis mandamientos, permanecerán en mi amor. como yo cumplí los mandamientos de mi Padre y permanezco en su amor.
11 I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete.	11 Les he dicho esto para que mi gozo sea el de ustedes, y ese gozo sea perfecto.
12 This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.	12 Este es mi mandamiento: Amense los unos a los otros, como yo los he amado.
13 No one can have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends.	13 No hay amor más grande que dar la vida por los amigos.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I command you.	14 Ustedes son mis amigos si hacen lo que yo les mando.
15 I shall no longer cal you servants, because a servant does not know the master's business; I cal youfriends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.	15 Ya no los llamo servidores, porque el servidor ignora lo que hace su señor; yo los llamo amigos, porque les he dado a conocer todo lo que oí de mi Padre.
16 You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit thatwil last; so that the Father wil give you anything you ask him in my name.	16 No son ustedes los que me eligieron a mí, sino yo el que los elegí a ustedes, y los destiné para que vayan y den fruto, y ese fruto sea duradero. Así todo lo que pidan al Padre en mi Nombre, él se lo concederá.
17 My command to you is to love one another.	17 Lo que yo les mando es que se amen los unos a los otros.
18 If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated me before it hated you.	18 Si el mundo los odia, sepan que antes me ha odiado a mí.
19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong tothe world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you.	19 Si ustedes fueran del mundo, el mundo los amaría como cosa suya. Pero como no son del mundo, sino que yo los elegí y los saqué de él, él mundo los odia.
20 Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me,they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as wel .	20 Acuérdense de lo que les dije: el servidor no es más grande que su señor. Si me persiguieron a mí, también los perseguirán a ustedes; si fueron fieles a mi palabra, también serán fieles a la de ustedes.
21 But it wil be on my account that they will do al this to you, because they do not know the one whosent me.	21 Pero los tratarán así a causa de mi Nombre, porque no conocen al que me envió.
22 If I had not come, if I had not spoken to them, they would have been blameless; but as it is they haveno excuse for their sin.	22 Si yo hubiera venido ni les hubiera hablado, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora su pecado no tiene disculpa.
23 Anyone who hates me hates my Father.	23 El que me odia, odia también a mi Padre.
24 If I had not performed such works among them as no one else has ever done, they would beblameless; but as it is, in spite of what they have seen, they hate both me and my Father.	24 Si yo no hubiera hecho entre ellos obras que ningún otro realizó, no tendrían pecado. Pero ahora las han visto, y sin embargo, me odian a mí y a mi Padre,
25 But al this was only to fulfil the words written in their Law: They hated me without reason.	25 para que se cumpla lo que está escrito en la Ley: Me han odiado sin motivo.
26 When the Paraclete comes, whom I shal send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who issuesfrom the Father, he wil be my witness.	26 Cuando venga el Paráclito que yo les enviaré desde el Padre, el Espíritu de la Verdad que proviene del Padre, él dará testimonio de mí.
27 And you too will be witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning.	27 Y ustedes también dan testimonio, porque están conmigo desde el principio».
