¹ 'The levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi wil be without share or heritage of their own in Israel; theywil live on the foods offered to Yahweh and on his heritage.	¹ «I sacerdoti leviti, tutta la tribù di Levi non avrà né parte né eredità con Israele: mangeranno i sacrifici di fuoco per Jahvè e la sua eredità.
² Levi wil have no heritage of his own among his brothers; Yahweh will be his heritage, as he haspromised him.	² Non avrà eredità in mezzo ai suoi fratelli; Jahvè è la sua eredità, come gli ha promesso.
³ 'This is what is due to the priests from the people, from those who offer an ox or a sheep in sacrifice:the priest must be given the shoulder, the cheeks and the stomach.	³ Questi sono i diritti dei sacerdoti sul Popolo; su coloro che offrono un sacrificio di bestiame grosso e minuto: ai sacerdoti si darà la spalla, le due mascelle e lo stomaco.
⁴ You must give him the first-fruits of your wheat, of your new wine and of your oil, as wel as the first-fruits of your sheep-shearing.	⁴ Gli darai le primizie del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto, del tuo olio è le primizie della tosatura del tuo bestiame minuto
⁵ For Yahweh your God has chosen him from all your tribes to stand before Yahweh your God, to do theduties of the sacred ministry, and to bless in Yahweh's name -- him and his sons for al time.	⁵ Jahvè, infatti, tuo Dio ha scelto lui tra tutte le tribù perché stesse davanti a Jahvè tuo Dio per il suo servizio e perché benedicesse in suo nome: scelse lui e i suoi figli per sempre.
⁶ 'If a Levite living in one of your towns anywhere in Israel decides to move to the place chosen byYahweh,	⁶ Se il Levita abbandona una delle tue città, in un punto qualsiasi di Israele, dove lui soggiornava, e con tutto il desiderio della sua anima viene al luogo che Jahvè sceglierà,
⁷ he shal minister there in the name of Yahweh his God like al his fel ow Levites who stand ministering there in the presence of Yahweh,	⁷ potrà prestar servizio in nome di Jahvè suo Dio come tutti i suoi fratelli Leviti che stanno là, al cospetto di Jahvè;
⁸ eating equal shares with them -- what he has from the sale of his patrimony notwithstanding.	⁸ mangeranno una parte uguale, Senza tenere conto di quanto ha realizzato vendendo i diritti che le singole famiglie gli hanno dato nella sua casa.
⁹ 'When you have entered the country given you by Yahweh your God, you must not learn to imitate thedetestable practices of the nations there already.	⁹ Quando tu sarai entrato nella terra che Jahvè tuo Dio sta per concederti, non imparerai a commettere gli abomini di quelle nazioni.
¹⁰ There must never be anyone among you who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire ofsacrifice, who practises divination, who is soothsayer, augur or sorcerer,	¹⁰ Presso di te non si troverà chi faccia passare il proprio figlio o la propria figlia attraverso il fuoco, chi pratichi la divinazione, il sortilegio, l’augurio, la magia;
¹¹ weaver of spells, consulter of ghosts or mediums, or necromancer.	¹¹ chi pratichi incantesimi, chi consulti gli spettri e gli spiriti familiari, chi interroghi i morti.
¹² For anyone who does these things is detestable to Yahweh your God; it is because of thesedetestable practices that Yahweh your God is driving out these nations before you.	¹² Poiché chiunque compie queste cose è in abominio a Jahvè; proprio a causa di tali abomini Jahvè tuo Dio caccia davanti a te quelle nazioni.
¹³ 'You must be faultless in your relationship with Yahweh your God.	¹³ Tu devi essere irreprensibile verso Jahvè tuo Dio.
¹⁴ For these nations whom you are going to dispossess have listened to soothsayers and mediums, butYahweh your God does not permit you to do this. From among yourselves, from among your own brothers,	¹⁴ Le nazioni, infatti, che tu stai per cacciare, ascoltavano gli incantatori e gli indovini; ma a te Jahvè tuo Dio non ha dato nulla di simile.
¹⁵ Yahweh your God will raise up a prophet like me; you wil listen to him.	¹⁵ In mezzo a te, dai tuoi fratelli, Jahvè tuo Dio susciterà per te un profeta come me: ascolterete lui.
¹⁶ This is exactly what you asked Yahweh your God to do -- at Horeb, on the day of the Assembly,when you said, "Never let me hear the voice of Yahweh my God or see this great fire again, or I shal die."	¹⁶ È quanto tu hai chiesto a Jahvè tuo Dio, nel giorno dell’assemblea all’Horeb, dicendo: “Non voglio più ascoltare la voce di Jahvè mio Dio né voglio più vedere questo grande fuoco per non morirne”.
¹⁷ Then Yahweh said to me,	¹⁷ Jahvè mi rispose: “Hanno parlato bene.
¹⁸ "What they have said is wel said. From their own brothers I shal raise up a prophet like yourself;	¹⁸ In mezzo ai loro fratelli susciterò per loro un profeta come te, porrò le mie parole nella sua bocca ed egli dirà loro tutto ciò che io gli ordinerò.
¹⁹ I shal put my words into his mouth and he wil tel them everything I command him. Anyone whorefuses to listen to my words, spoken by him in my name, wil have to render an account to me.	¹⁹ Se alcuno non ascolterà 1e parole che egli proferisce in mio nome, io stesso domanderò conto a costui.
²⁰ But the prophet who presumes to say something in my name which I have not commanded him tosay, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die."	²⁰ Ma se il profeta presume di dire in mio nome una parola che io non gli ho ordinato di dire e colui che parlerà, in nome di altri dèi, questo profeta morirà”’.
²¹ 'You may be privately wondering, "How are we to tel that a prophecy does not come from Yahweh?"	²¹ Se tu pensi nel tuo cuore: “Come conosceremo la pula che Jahvè non ha detto?”:
²² When a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh and the thing does not happen and the word is notfulfil ed, then it has not been said by Yahweh. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. You have nothing tofear from him.'	²² se il profeta ha parlato in nome di Jahvè e la sua parola non si avvera, non si compie, Jahvè non ha detto proprio questa parola. Il profeta ha parlato con presunzione: non aver timore di lui».
