Deuteronomy 18

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA MARTINI
1 'The levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi wil be without share or heritage of their own in Israel; theywil live on the foods offered to Yahweh and on his heritage.	1 I sacerdoti, e i leviti, e tutti quelli che sono della stessa tribù, non avranno porzione, né eredità col rimanente d'Israele, perocché vivranno dei sacrifizii del Signore, e delle offerte che a lui son fatte.
2 Levi wil have no heritage of his own among his brothers; Yahweh will be his heritage, as he haspromised him.	2 E non avranno altra cosa di tutto quel che posseggono i loro fratelli, perché lo stesso Signore egli è la loro eredità, conforme ha detto ad essi.
3 'This is what is due to the priests from the people, from those who offer an ox or a sheep in sacrifice:the priest must be given the shoulder, the cheeks and the stomach.	3 Ecco il diritto de' sacerdoti riguardo al popolo e a quelli che offeriscono delle vittime: se immolano un bue, o una pecora, daranno al sacerdote la spalla e il petto:
4 You must give him the first-fruits of your wheat, of your new wine and of your oil, as wel as the first-fruits of your sheep-shearing.	4 Le primizie del frumento, del vino, e dell’olio, e una parte delle lane alla tosatura delle pecore.
5 For Yahweh your God has chosen him from all your tribes to stand before Yahweh your God, to do theduties of the sacred ministry, and to bless in Yahweh's name -- him and his sons for al time.	5 Perocché il Signore Dio tuo lo ha eletto da tutte le tue tribù, perché egli assista dinanzi a lui, ed eserciti il ministero del Signore egli, e i suoi figliuoli in perpetuo.
6 'If a Levite living in one of your towns anywhere in Israel decides to move to the place chosen byYahweh,	6 Se un levita esce da una delle tue città da qualunque parte d'Israele, dove egli abitava, e vuol venire per affetto al luogo eletto dal Signore,
7 he shal minister there in the name of Yahweh his God like al his fel ow Levites who stand ministering there in the presence of Yahweh,	7 Egli farà sue funzioni nel nome del Signore Dio suo come tutti i suoi fratelli leviti che stanno in quel tempo dinanzi al Signore.
8 eating equal shares with them -- what he has from the sale of his patrimony notwithstanding.	8 Avrà la stessa porzione di cibo che avranno gli altri: senza quello che è dovuto a lui di successione paterna nella sua patria.
9 'When you have entered the country given you by Yahweh your God, you must not learn to imitate thedetestable practices of the nations there already.	9 Allorché tu sarai entrato nella terra, che ti sarà data dal Signore Dio tuo, guardati dal voler imitare le abbominazioni di quelle genti:
10 There must never be anyone among you who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire ofsacrifice, who practises divination, who is soothsayer, augur or sorcerer,	10 Né siavi tra voi chi per purificare il figliuolo o la figlia, li faccia passare pel fuoco: o chi interroghi gl’indovini, e dia retta ai sogni, e agli augurii, né chi faccia uso de’ malefizii,
11 weaver of spells, consulter of ghosts or mediums, or necromancer.	11 Né chi faccia uso dei sortilegi, né chi consulti i pitonici, o gli astrologi: né cerchi di sapere da' morti la verità:
12 For anyone who does these things is detestable to Yahweh your God; it is because of thesedetestable practices that Yahweh your God is driving out these nations before you.	12 Imperocché il Signore ha in abbominazione tutte queste cose, e a causa di queste scelleraggini egli sterminerà quelle genti nel tuo ingresso.
13 'You must be faultless in your relationship with Yahweh your God.	13 Tu sarai perfetto, e senza macchia rispetto al Signore Dio tuo.
14 For these nations whom you are going to dispossess have listened to soothsayers and mediums, butYahweh your God does not permit you to do this. From among yourselves, from among your own brothers,	14 Quelle nazioni, delle quali tu occuperai la terra, danno retta agli augurii, e agl’indovini: ma tu in altro modo sei stato disciplinato dal Signore Dio tuo.
15 Yahweh your God will raise up a prophet like me; you wil listen to him.	15 Il Signore Dio tuo ti manderà un profeta della tua nazione, e del numero de' tuoi fratelli come me: lui ascolterai.
16 This is exactly what you asked Yahweh your God to do -- at Horeb, on the day of the Assembly,when you said, "Never let me hear the voice of Yahweh my God or see this great fire again, or I shal die."	16 Secondo quello che tu domandasti al Signore Dio tuo presso l’Horeb, quando tutta la moltitudine era adunata, e dicesti: Che io non senta più la voce del Signore Dio mio, e che io non vegga più questo fuoco grandissimo perché io non muoia.
17 Then Yahweh said to me,	17 E il Signore mi disse: Hanno in tutto parlato bene.
18 "What they have said is wel said. From their own brothers I shal raise up a prophet like yourself;	18 Un Profeta farò loro nascere di mezzo a’ loro fratelli simile a te: e in bocca a lui porrò le mie parole, e ad essi riporterà tutto quello che io gli comanderò.
19 I shal put my words into his mouth and he wil tel them everything I command him. Anyone whorefuses to listen to my words, spoken by him in my name, wil have to render an account to me.	19 Chiunque poi non vorrà ascoltar le parole che egli nel nome mio annunzierà, proverà le mie vendette.
20 But the prophet who presumes to say something in my name which I have not commanded him tosay, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die."	20 Ma se un profeta corrotto da arroganza vorrà annunziare nel nome mio quello che io non gli ho comandato di dire, o parlerà a nome degli dei stranieri, sarà messo a morte.
21 'You may be privately wondering, "How are we to tel that a prophecy does not come from Yahweh?"	21 Che se il tuo pensiero ti suggerisce: Come posso io conoscere che il Signore non ha detta quella parola?
22 When a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh and the thing does not happen and the word is notfulfil ed, then it has not been said by Yahweh. The prophet has spoken presumptuously. You have nothing tofear from him.'	22 Eccoti il segno: Se quello che il profeta ha predetto nel nome mio non sia avvenuto, il Signore non ha parlato: ma il profeta per la sua superbia ha inventata tal cosa, e perciò tu nol temerai.
