NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to put him to the test they asked if he would show them asign from heaven.	1 Da kamen die Pharisäer und Sadduzäer zu Jesus, um ihn auf die Probe zu stellen. Sie baten ihn: Lass uns ein Zeichen vom Himmel sehen.
2 He replied, 'In the evening you say, "It wil be fine; there's a red sky,"	2 Er antwortete ihnen:
3 and in the morning, "Stormy weather today; the sky is red and overcast." You know how to read theface of the sky, but you cannot read the signs of the times.	3 []
4 It is an evil and unfaithful generation asking for a sign, and the only sign it wil be given is the sign ofJonah.' And he left them and went off.	4 Diese böse und treulose Generation fordert ein Zeichen, aber es wird ihr kein anderes gegeben werden als das Zeichen des Jona. Und er ließ sie stehen und ging weg.
5 The disciples, having crossed to the other side, had forgotten to take any food.	5 Die Jünger fuhren an das andere Ufer. Sie hatten aber vergessen, Brot mitzunehmen.
6 Jesus said to them, 'Keep your eyes open, and be on your guard against the yeast of the Phariseesand Sadducees.'	6 Und Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Gebt Acht, hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer und Sadduzäer!
7 And they said among themselves, 'It is because we have not brought any bread.'	7 Sie aber machten sich Gedanken und sagten zueinander: Wir haben kein Brot mitgenommen.
8 Jesus knew it, and he said, 'You have so little faith, why are you talking among yourselves abouthaving no bread?	8 Als Jesus das merkte, sagte er: Ihr Kleingläubigen, was macht ihr euch darüber Gedanken, dass ihr kein Brot habt?
9 Do you stil not understand? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand and thenumber of baskets you col ected?	9 Begreift ihr immer noch nicht? Erinnert ihr euch nicht an die fünf Brote für die Fünftausend und daran, wie viele Körbe voll ihr wieder eingesammelt habt?
10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and the number of baskets you col ected?	10 Auch nicht an die sieben Brote für die Viertausend, und wie viele Körbe voll ihr da eingesammelt habt?
11 How could you fail to understand that I was not talking about bread? What I said was: Beware of theyeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.'	11 Warum begreift ihr denn nicht, dass ich nicht von Brot gesprochen habe, als ich zu euch sagte: Hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer und Sadduzäer?
12 Then they understood that he was tel ing them to be on their guard, not against yeast for makingbread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.	12 Da verstanden sie, dass er nicht gemeint hatte, sie sollten sich vor dem Sauerteig hüten, mit dem man Brot backt, sondern vor der Lehre der Pharisäer und Sadduzäer.
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi he put this question to his disciples, 'Who dopeople say the Son of man is?'	13 Als Jesus in das Gebiet von Cäsarea Philippi kam, fragte er seine Jünger: Für wen halten die Leute den Menschensohn?
14 And they said, 'Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.'	14 Sie sagten: Die einen für Johannes den Täufer, andere für Elija, wieder andere für Jeremia oder sonst einen Propheten.
15 'But you,' he said, 'who do you say I am?'	15 Da sagte er zu ihnen: Ihr aber, für wen haltet ihr mich?
16 Then Simon Peter spoke up and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'	16 Simon Petrus antwortete: Du bist der Messias, der Sohn des lebendigen Gottes!
17 Jesus replied, 'Simon son of Jonah, you are a blessed man! Because it was no human agency thatrevealed this to you but my Father in heaven.	17 Jesus sagte zu ihm: Selig bist du, Simon Barjona; denn nicht Fleisch und Blut haben dir das offenbart, sondern mein Vater im Himmel.
18 So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I wil build my community. And the gates of theunderworld can never overpower it.	18 Ich aber sage dir: Du bist Petrus und auf diesen Felsen werde ich meine Kirche bauen und die Mächte der Unterwelt werden sie nicht überwältigen.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven: whatever you bind on earth will be bound inheaven; whatever you loose on earth wil be loosed in heaven.'	19 Ich werde dir die Schlüssel des Himmelreichs geben; was du auf Erden binden wirst, das wird auch im Himmel gebunden sein, und was du auf Erden lösen wirst, das wird auch im Himmel gelöst sein.
20 Then he gave the disciples strict orders not to say to anyone that he was the Christ.	20 Dann befahl er den Jüngern, niemand zu sagen, dass er der Messias sei.
21 From then onwards Jesus began to make it clear to his disciples that he was destined to go toJerusalem and suffer grievously at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be put to deathand to be raised up on the third day.	21 Von da an begann Jesus, seinen Jüngern zu erklären, er müsse nach Jerusalem gehen und von den Ältesten, den Hohenpriestern und den Schriftgelehrten vieles erleiden; er werde getötet werden, aber am dritten Tag werde er auferstehen.
22 Then, taking him aside, Peter started to rebuke him. 'Heaven preserve you, Lord,' he said, 'this mustnot happen to you.'	22 Da nahm ihn Petrus beiseite und machte ihm Vorwürfe; er sagte: Das soll Gott verhüten, Herr! Das darf nicht mit dir geschehen!
23 But he turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle in my path, becauseyou are thinking not as God thinks but as human beings do.'	23 Jesus aber wandte sich um und sagte zu Petrus: Weg mit dir, Satan, geh mir aus den Augen! Du willst mich zu Fall bringen; denn du hast nicht das im Sinn, was Gott will, sondern was die Menschen wollen.
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone wants to be a fol ower of mine, let him renounce himselfand take up his cross and follow me.	24 Darauf sagte Jesus zu seinen Jüngern: Wer mein Jünger sein will, der verleugne sich selbst, nehme sein Kreuz auf sich und folge mir nach.
25 Anyone who wants to save his life wil lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it.	25 Denn wer sein Leben retten will, wird es verlieren; wer aber sein Leben um meinetwillen verliert, wird es gewinnen.
26 What, then, wil anyone gain by winning the whole world and forfeiting his life? Or what can anyoneoffer in exchange for his life?	26 Was nützt es einem Menschen, wenn er die ganze Welt gewinnt, dabei aber sein Leben einbüßt? Um welchen Preis kann ein Mensch sein Leben zurückkaufen?
27 'For the Son of man is going to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he wilreward each one according to his behaviour.	27 Der Menschensohn wird mit seinen Engeln in der Hoheit seines Vaters kommen und jedem Menschen vergelten, wie es seine Taten verdienen.
28 In truth I tel you, there are some standing here who wil not taste death before they see the Son ofman coming with his kingdom.'	28 Amen, ich sage euch: Von denen, die hier stehen, werden einige den Tod nicht erleiden, bis sie den Menschensohn in seiner königlichen Macht kommen sehen.
