NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 'And now, priests, this commandment is for you.	1 Y ahora, a vosotros esta orden, sacerdotes:
2 If you will not listen, if you will not sincerely resolve to glorify my name, says Yahweh Sabaoth, I shalcertainly lay a curse on you and I shal curse your blessing. Indeed I wil lay a curse, for none of you makes thisresolve.	2 Si no escucháis ni tomáis a pecho dar gloria a mi Nombre, dice Yahveh Sebaot, yo lanzaré sobre vosotros la maldición y maldeciré vuestra bendición; y hasta la he maldecido ya, porque ninguno de vosotros toma nada a pecho.
3 Now, I am going to break your arm and throw offal in your faces -- the offal of your solemn feasts -- andsweep you away with it.	3 He aquí que yo voy a romper vuestro brazo, os echaré estiércol a la cara, el estiércol de vuestras fiestas, y seréis aventados con él.
4 Then you wil know that I sent this commandment to you, to affirm my intention to maintain my covenantwith Levi, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	4 Sabréis así que yo os dirigí esta orden para que subsitiera mi alianza con Leví, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
5 My covenant was with him -- a covenant of life and peace, and these were what I gave him -- acovenant of respect, and he respected me and held my name in awe.	5 Mi alianza era con él vida y paz, y se las concedí; era temor, y él me temía y ante mi Nombre guardaba reverencia.
6 The law of truth was in his mouth and guilt was not found on his lips; he walked in peace and justicewith me and he converted many from sinning.	6 La Ley de verdad estaba en su boca, e iniquidad no se hallaba en sus labios; en paz y en rectitud caminaba conmigo, y a muchos recobró de la culpa.
7 The priest's lips ought to safeguard knowledge; his mouth is where the law should be sought, since heis Yahweh Sabaoth's messenger.	7 Pues los labios del sacerdote guardan la ciencia, y la Ley se busca en su boca; porque él es el mensajero de Yahveh Sebaot.
8 But you yourselves have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to lapse by your teaching.Since you have destroyed the covenant of Levi, says Yahweh Sabaoth,	8 Pero vosotros os habéis extraviado del camino, habéis hecho tropezar a muchos en la Ley, habéis corrompido la alianza de Leví, dice Yahveh Sebaot.
9 so I in my turn have made you contemptible and vile to the whole people, for not having kept my waysand for being partial in applying the law.	9 Por eso yo también os he hecho despreciables y viles ante todo el pueblo, de la misma manera que vosotros no guardáis mis caminos y hacéis acepción de personas en la Ley.
10 'Is there not one Father of us al ? Did not one God create us? Why, then, do we break faith with oneanother, profaning the covenant of our ancestors?	10 ¿No tenemos todos nosotros un mismo Padre? ¿No nos ha creado el mismo Dios? ¿Por qué nos traicionamos los unos a los otros, profanando la alianza de nuestros padres?
11 Judah has broken faith; a detestable thing has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah hasprofaned Yahweh's beloved sanctuary; he has married the daughter of an alien god.	11 Judá ha traicionado; una abominación se ha cometido en Israel y en Jerusalén. Porque Judá ha profanado el santuario querido de Yahveh, al casarse con la hija de un dios extranjero.
12 May Yahweh deprive such an offender of witness and advocate in the tents of Jacob among those whopresent offerings to Yahweh Sabaoth!	12 ¡Que extirpe Yahveh al hombre que hace tal, ya sea testigo o defensor, de las tiendas de Jacob y de entre los que presentan la oblación a Yahveh Sebaot!
13 'And here is something else you do: you cover the altar of Yahweh with tears, with weeping andwailing, because he now refuses to consider the offering or to accept it from you.	13 Y esta otra cosa hacéis también vosotros: cubrir de lágrimas el altar de Yahveh, de llantos y suspiros, porque él ya no se vuelve hacia la oblación, ni la acepta con gusto de vuestras manos.
14 And you ask, "Why?" Because Yahweh stands as witness between you and the wife of your youth,with whom you have broken faith, even though she was your partner and your wife by covenant.	14 Y vosotros decís: ¿Por qué? - Porque Yahveh es testigo entre tú y la esposa de tu juventud, a la que tú traicionaste, siendo así que ella era tu compañera y la mujer de tu alianza.
15 Did he not create a single being, having flesh and the breath of life? And what does this single being seek? God -- given offspring! Have respect for your own life then, and do not break faith with the wife of youryouth.	15 ¿No ha hecho él un solo ser, que tiene carne y espíritu? Y este uno ¿qué busca? ¡Una posteridad dada por Dios! Guardad, pues, vuestro espíritu; no traiciones a la esposa de tu juventud.
16 For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, God of Israel, and people concealing their cruelty under a cloak, saysYahweh Sabaoth. Have respect for your own life then, and do not break faith.	16 Pues yo odio el repudio, dice Yahveh Dios de Israel, y al que encubre con su vestido la violencia, dice Yahveh Sebaot. Guardad, pues, vuestro espíritu y no cometáis tal traición.
17 'You have wearied Yahweh with your talk. You ask, "How have we wearied him?" When you say, "Anyevil-doer is good as far as Yahweh is concerned; indeed he is delighted with them"; or when you say, "Where isthe God of fair judgement now?"	17 Vosotros cansáis a Yahveh con vuestras palabras. - Y decís: ¿En qué le cansamos? - Cuando decís: Todo el que hace el mal es bueno a los ojos de Yahveh, y él le acepta complacido; o también: ¿Dónde está el Dios del juicio?
