Zechariah 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Open your gateways, Lebanon, and the fire shal burn down your cedar trees!	1 Apri, o Libano, le tue porte, il fuoco divori i tuoi cedri;
2 Wail, juniper, for the cedar tree has fal en, the majestic ones have been ravaged! Wail, oaks ofBashan, for the impenetrable forest has been fel ed!	2 piangi, o abete, perche gli altissimi cedri son caduti; piangete, o querce di Basan, perchè la gran selva è stata abbattuta.
3 The sound of the wailing of shepherds! Their majesty has been ravaged. The sound of the roaring ofyoung lions! The pride of the Jordan has been ravaged.	3 Echeggiano i lamenti dei pastori, perchè la loro gloria è rovinata; rimbombano i ruggiti dei leoni, perchè l'orgoglio del Giordano è rovinato.
4 Yahweh my God says this, 'Pasture the sheep for slaughter,	4 Queste cose dice il Signore mio Dio: « Pasci queste pecore da macello,
5 whose buyers kil them and go unpunished, whose sel ers say of them, "Blessed be Yahweh; now I amrich!" and whose own shepherds show them no pity.	5 uccise senza pietà dui loro padroni che le han vendute dicendo: — Benedetto sia il Signore: siamo arricchiti! — e delle quali i pastori non hanno avuto compassione.
6 For I shal show no further pity for the inhabitants of the country -- Yahweh declares! Instead, I shalput everyone into the clutches of a neighbour, into the clutches of the king. They wil crush the country and I shalnot rescue anyone from their clutches.'	6 E io non avrò più compassione di chi abita in questa terra — dice il Signore: — Ecco abbandonerò gii uomini, l'uno in potere dell'altro, e in potere del loro re; la terra sarà devastata, ed io non Li libererò dalle loro mani ».
7 Then I pastured for slaughter the sheep belonging to the sheep-dealers. I took two staves: the one Ical ed 'Goodwill', the other 'Couplers'; and I pastured the sheep myself,	7 « Ebbene allora pascerò il gregge da macello, o poveri del gregge ». Prese adunque due verghe, delle quali una chiamai Grazia e l'altra Flagello, mi misi a pascere il gregge.
8 getting rid of three shepherds in one month. But I lost patience with them, and they equal y detestedme.	8 In un mese mandai via tre pastori, e l'anima mia si chiuse a loro, perchè la, loro anima non restò la medesima verso di me.
9 I then said, 'I am not going to pasture you any more; the one doomed to die can die; the one doomedto perish can perish; and the rest can devour one another.'	9 Finalmente dissi: « Non sarò più vostro pastore: chi muore muore, chi è sbranato è sbranato, e quelli che restano si mangino l'un con l'altro ».
10 I then took my staff, 'Goodwil ', and broke it in half, to break my covenant, which I had made with althe peoples.	10 E, presa la mia verga chiamata Grazia, la ruppi, per rompere il patto da me fatto con tutti i popoli,
11 When it was broken, that day the sheep-dealers, who were watching me, realised that this had beena word of Yahweh.	11 che fu rotto da quel giorno; e così i poveri del gregge, quelli che mi ascoltano, conobbero che questa è parola del Signore.
12 I then said to them, 'If you see fit, give me my wages; if not, never mind.' So they weighed out mywages: thirty shekels of silver.	12 Poi dissi loro: « Se vi par giusto, datemi la mia mercede, se non vi pare, non ne fate niente ». Allora essi mi pesarono, come mia mercede, trenta monete d'argento.
13 Yahweh said to me, 'Throw it to the smelter, this princely sum at which they have valued me!' Takingthe thirty shekels of silver, I threw them into the Temple of Yahweh, for the smelter.	13 E il Signore mi disse: « Gettala al vasaio questa bella somma, il mio prezzo secondo essi ». E, prese le trenta monete d'argento, le gettai nella casa del Signore, (affinché fossero date) al vasaio,
14 I then broke my second staff, 'Couplers,' in half, to rupture the brotherly relationship between Judahand Israel.	14 e ruppi l'altra mia verga chiamata Flagello, per rompere la fratellanza tra Giuda e Israele.
15 Next, Yahweh said to me, 'This time, take the gear of a good-for-nothing shepherd.	15 Poi il Signore mi disse: « Ed ora prendi gli strumenti dei pastore insensato;
16 For I am now going to raise a shepherd in this country, who wil not bother about the lost, who will notgo in search of the stray, who wil not heal the injured, who wil not support the swollen, but who wil eat the meatof the fat ones, tearing off their very hoofs.	16 perché in farò venire sulla terra un pastore che non avrà cura delle pecore abbandonate, non cercherà le disperse, non medicherà le malate, non darà da mangiare a quelle che stan in piedi: mangerà invece la carne delle grasse e romperà loro gli stinchi.
17 Disaster to the shepherd who deserts his flock! May the sword attack his arm and his right eye! Mayhis arm shrivel completely and his right eye be total y blinded!'	17 Guai al pastore idolo che abbandona il gregge! La spada lo colpirà nel braccio e nell'occhio destro: il suo braccio inaridirà, si seccherà; il suo occhio destro ottenebrato, si spegnerà.
