Zechariah 11

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Open your gateways, Lebanon, and the fire shal burn down your cedar trees!	1 Ouvre tes portes, Liban, et que le feu dévore tes cèdres!
2 Wail, juniper, for the cedar tree has fal en, the majestic ones have been ravaged! Wail, oaks ofBashan, for the impenetrable forest has been fel ed!	2 Gémis, genévrier, car le cèdre est tombé, car les majestueux sont ravagés. Gémissez, chênes deBashân, car elle est abattue la forêt inaccessible.
3 The sound of the wailing of shepherds! Their majesty has been ravaged. The sound of the roaring ofyoung lions! The pride of the Jordan has been ravaged.	3 On entend le gémissement des pasteurs car leur majesté est ravagée. On entend les rugissementsdes lionceaux car l'orgueil du Jourdain est ravagé.
4 Yahweh my God says this, 'Pasture the sheep for slaughter,	4 Ainsi parle Yahvé mon Dieu: "Fais paître les brebis d'abattoir,
5 whose buyers kil them and go unpunished, whose sel ers say of them, "Blessed be Yahweh; now I amrich!" and whose own shepherds show them no pity.	5 celles que leurs acheteurs abattent sans être châtiés, dont leurs vendeurs disent: Béni soit Yahvé,me voilà riche, et que les pasteurs n'épargnent point.
6 For I shal show no further pity for the inhabitants of the country -- Yahweh declares! Instead, I shalput everyone into the clutches of a neighbour, into the clutches of the king. They wil crush the country and I shalnot rescue anyone from their clutches.'	6 Car je n'épargnerai plus les habitants du pays - oracle de Yahvé! - Mais voici que moi, je vaislivrer les hommes chacun aux mains de son prochain, aux mains de son roi. Ils écraseront le pays et je ne lesdélivrerai pas de leurs mains."
7 Then I pastured for slaughter the sheep belonging to the sheep-dealers. I took two staves: the one Ical ed 'Goodwill', the other 'Couplers'; and I pastured the sheep myself,	7 Alors je fis paître les brebis d'abattoir qui appartiennent aux marchands de brebis. Je pris pourmoi deux bâtons, j'appelai l'un Faveur et l'autre Liens et je fis paître les brebis.
8 getting rid of three shepherds in one month. But I lost patience with them, and they equal y detestedme.	8 Je fis disparaître les trois pasteurs en un seul mois. Mais je perdis patience avec eux, et quant àeux, ils furent avares envers moi.
9 I then said, 'I am not going to pasture you any more; the one doomed to die can die; the one doomedto perish can perish; and the rest can devour one another.'	9 Alors je dis: "Je ne vous ferai plus paître. Que celle qui doit mourir meure; que celle qui doitdisparaître disparaisse, et que celles qui restent s'entre-dévorent.
10 I then took my staff, 'Goodwil ', and broke it in half, to break my covenant, which I had made with althe peoples.	10 Puis" je pris mon bâton Faveur et le mis en morceaux pour rompre mon alliance, celle quej'avais conclue avec tous les peuples.
11 When it was broken, that day the sheep-dealers, who were watching me, realised that this had beena word of Yahweh.	11 Elle fut donc rompue en ce jour-là, et les marchands de brebis qui m'observaient surent quec'était là une parole de Yahvé.
12 I then said to them, 'If you see fit, give me my wages; if not, never mind.' So they weighed out mywages: thirty shekels of silver.	12 Je leur dis alors: "Si cela vous semble bon, donnez-moi mon salaire, sinon n'en faites rien." Ilspesèrent mon salaire: 30 sicles d'argent.
13 Yahweh said to me, 'Throw it to the smelter, this princely sum at which they have valued me!' Takingthe thirty shekels of silver, I threw them into the Temple of Yahweh, for the smelter.	13 Yahvé me dit: "Jette-le au fondeur, ce prix splendide auquel ils m'ont apprécié!" Je pris donc les30 sicles d'argent et les jetai à la Maison de Yahvé, pour le fondeur.
14 I then broke my second staff, 'Couplers,' in half, to rupture the brotherly relationship between Judahand Israel.	14 Puis je mis en morceaux mon deuxième bâton, pour rompre la fraternité entre Juda et Israël.
15 Next, Yahweh said to me, 'This time, take the gear of a good-for-nothing shepherd.	15 Yahvé me dit alors: "Prends encore l'équipement d'un pasteur insensé,
16 For I am now going to raise a shepherd in this country, who wil not bother about the lost, who will notgo in search of the stray, who wil not heal the injured, who wil not support the swollen, but who wil eat the meatof the fat ones, tearing off their very hoofs.	16 car voici que moi je vais susciter un pasteur dans le pays; celle qui a disparu, il n'en aura cure,celle qui chevrote, il ne la recherchera pas, celle qui est blessée, il ne la soignera pas, celle qui est enflée, il ne lasoutiendra pas, mais il dévorera la chair des bêtes grasses et arrachera même leurs sabots.
17 Disaster to the shepherd who deserts his flock! May the sword attack his arm and his right eye! Mayhis arm shrivel completely and his right eye be total y blinded!'	17 Malheur au pasteur inexistant qui délaisse son troupeau! Que l'épée s'attaque à son bras et à sonoeil droit! Que son bras soit tout desséché, que son oeil droit soit aveuglé!"
