Zechariah 11

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Open your gateways, Lebanon, and the fire shal burn down your cedar trees!	1 Abre tus puertas, Líbano, y que tus cedros sean presa de las llamas.
2 Wail, juniper, for the cedar tree has fal en, the majestic ones have been ravaged! Wail, oaks ofBashan, for the impenetrable forest has been fel ed!	2 Gime, ciprés, porque ha caído el cedro, porque los poderosos han sido arrasados. Giman, encinas de Basán, porque ha sido abatida la selva impenetrable.
3 The sound of the wailing of shepherds! Their majesty has been ravaged. The sound of the roaring ofyoung lions! The pride of the Jordan has been ravaged.	3 Escuchen el gemido de los pastores, porque ha sido arrasado su esplendor; escuchen el rugido de los leones, porque ha sido arrasado el orgullo del Jordán.
4 Yahweh my God says this, 'Pasture the sheep for slaughter,	4 Así habla el Señor, mi Dios: Apacienta las ovejas destinadas al matadero,
5 whose buyers kil them and go unpunished, whose sel ers say of them, "Blessed be Yahweh; now I amrich!" and whose own shepherds show them no pity.	5 aquellas que sus compradores matan impunemente, mientras los vendedores dicen: «¡Bendito sea el Señor, ya soy rico!», y los pastores no se compadecen de ellas.
6 For I shal show no further pity for the inhabitants of the country -- Yahweh declares! Instead, I shalput everyone into the clutches of a neighbour, into the clutches of the king. They wil crush the country and I shalnot rescue anyone from their clutches.'	6 No, ya no tendré compasión de los habitantes del país –oráculo del Señor– y entregaré a cada uno en manos de su vecino y en manos de su rey; ellos aplastarán el país, y yo no los libraré de sus manos.
7 Then I pastured for slaughter the sheep belonging to the sheep-dealers. I took two staves: the one Ical ed 'Goodwill', the other 'Couplers'; and I pastured the sheep myself,	7 Entonces apacenté las ovejas destinadas al matadero por los traficantes de ovejas. Tomé dos bastones: a uno lo llamé «Favor» y al otro «Vínculo». Me puse a apacentar las ovejas,
8 getting rid of three shepherds in one month. But I lost patience with them, and they equal y detestedme.	8 e hice desaparecer a los tres pastores en un mes. Pero yo perdí la paciencia con ellas, y ellas también se hastiaron de mí.
9 I then said, 'I am not going to pasture you any more; the one doomed to die can die; the one doomedto perish can perish; and the rest can devour one another.'	9 Yo dije: «¡No las apacentaré más! ¡La que quiera morir, que muera! ¡La que quiera desaparecer, que desaparezca! ¡Y las que queden, que se devoren entre sí!».
10 I then took my staff, 'Goodwil ', and broke it in half, to break my covenant, which I had made with althe peoples.	10 Después tomé mi bastón «Favor», y lo quebré para romper mi pacto, el que yo había establecido con todos los pueblos.
11 When it was broken, that day the sheep-dealers, who were watching me, realised that this had beena word of Yahweh.	11 El pacto quedó roto ese día, y los traficantes de ovejas que me observaban reconocieron que esa era una palabra del Señor.
12 I then said to them, 'If you see fit, give me my wages; if not, never mind.' So they weighed out mywages: thirty shekels of silver.	12 Yo les dije: «Si les parece bien, páguenme mi salario; y si no, déjenlo». Ellos pesaron mi salario: treinta siclos de plata.
13 Yahweh said to me, 'Throw it to the smelter, this princely sum at which they have valued me!' Takingthe thirty shekels of silver, I threw them into the Temple of Yahweh, for the smelter.	13 Pero el Señor me dijo: «¡Echa al Tesoro ese lindo precio en que he sido valuado por ellos!». Yo tomé los treinta siclos de plata y los eché en el Tesoro de la Casa del Señor.
14 I then broke my second staff, 'Couplers,' in half, to rupture the brotherly relationship between Judahand Israel.	14 Después quebré mi segundo bastón «Vínculo», para romper la fraternidad entre Judá e Israel.
15 Next, Yahweh said to me, 'This time, take the gear of a good-for-nothing shepherd.	15 El Señor me dijo: Toma ahora la mochila de un pastor insensato.
16 For I am now going to raise a shepherd in this country, who wil not bother about the lost, who will notgo in search of the stray, who wil not heal the injured, who wil not support the swollen, but who wil eat the meatof the fat ones, tearing off their very hoofs.	16 Porque yo voy a suscitar en el país un pastor que no se preocupará de la oveja perdida, ni buscará a la extraviada, ni curará a la herida, ni alimentará a la sana, sino que comerá la carne de las más gordas y les arrancará hasta las pezuñas.
17 Disaster to the shepherd who deserts his flock! May the sword attack his arm and his right eye! Mayhis arm shrivel completely and his right eye be total y blinded!'	17 ¡Pobre del pastor inútil que abandona el rebaño! ¡La espada caiga sobre su brazo y sobre su ojo derecho! ¡Que su brazo se seque por completo y que su ojo derecho se apague totalmente!
