Zechariah 11

1 Open your gateways, Lebanon, and the fire shal burn down your cedar trees!	1 Apri o Libano, le tue porte, e il fuoco si divori i tuoi cedri.
2 Wail, juniper, for the cedar tree has fal en, the majestic ones have been ravaged! Wail, oaks ofBashan, for the impenetrable forest has been fel ed!	2 Gettate urla, o abeti, perchè i cedri sono caduti, perchè le altissime piante sono state atterrate: gettate urla o quercie di Basan, perche la forte selva è stata recisa.
3 The sound of the wailing of shepherds! Their majesty has been ravaged. The sound of the roaring ofyoung lions! The pride of the Jordan has been ravaged.	3 Rimbombano le strida dei pastori, perchè la loro grandezza è distrutta: rimbombano i ruggiti de' lioni, perchè la superbia del Giordano è devastata.
4 Yahweh my God says this, 'Pasture the sheep for slaughter,	4 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio mio: Pasci queste pecore da macello.
5 whose buyers kil them and go unpunished, whose sel ers say of them, "Blessed be Yahweh; now I amrich!" and whose own shepherds show them no pity.	5 Le quali coloro, che le guidavano, le mettevano a morte senza averne pietà e le vendevano, dicendo: Benedetto il Signore, noi ci siamo arricchiti. E que' loro pastori non ne avevano compassione.
6 For I shal show no further pity for the inhabitants of the country -- Yahweh declares! Instead, I shalput everyone into the clutches of a neighbour, into the clutches of the king. They wil crush the country and I shalnot rescue anyone from their clutches.'	6 Or io non perdonerò ornai più agli abitanti di questa terra, dice il Signore: ecco che io abbandonerò questi uomini in potere l'uno dell'altro, e in potere del loro re, e sarà desolato il loro paese, ed io non li trarrò dalle mani di coloro.
7 Then I pastured for slaughter the sheep belonging to the sheep-dealers. I took two staves: the one Ical ed 'Goodwill', the other 'Couplers'; and I pastured the sheep myself,	7 E per questo io, o poveri del gregge, pascerò queste pecore da macello. Ed io mi presi due verghe, l'una delle quali chiamai la Speciosa, l'altra la chiamai la Funicella: e pascolai la greggia.
8 getting rid of three shepherds in one month. But I lost patience with them, and they equal y detestedme.	8 E recisi tre pastori in un mese, e si restrinse riguardo ad essi l'anima mia, perchè anche l'anima loro variò riguardo a me.
9 I then said, 'I am not going to pasture you any more; the one doomed to die can die; the one doomedto perish can perish; and the rest can devour one another.'	9 E io dissi: Io non sarò vostro pastore: quello, che muore, si muoia: quel, che è sbranato, sia sbranato; e quelli, che restano, si divorino ciascheduno la carne del loro vicino.
10 I then took my staff, 'Goodwil ', and broke it in half, to break my covenant, which I had made with althe peoples.	10 E presi la mia verga chiamata la Speciosa, e la ruppi, per rompere il patto fermato da me con tutti i popoli.
11 When it was broken, that day the sheep-dealers, who were watching me, realised that this had beena word of Yahweh.	11 E fu rotto in quel giorno, e i poveri del gregge, che mi ascoltano, han conosciuto, che questa è parola del Signore.
12 I then said to them, 'If you see fit, give me my wages; if not, never mind.' So they weighed out mywages: thirty shekels of silver.	12 Ma io dissi a coloro: Se vi par giusto, datemi la mia mercede; e se no, non ne fate altro. Ed ei mi pesarono per mia mercede trenta monete d'argento.
13 Yahweh said to me, 'Throw it to the smelter, this princely sum at which they have valued me!' Takingthe thirty shekels of silver, I threw them into the Temple of Yahweh, for the smelter.	13 E il Signore mi disse: Getta a quello statuario questa bella somma, a cui mi han prezzolato. Ed io presi le trenta monete d'argento, e le gettai nella casa del Signore, perchè si dessero allo statuario.
14 I then broke my second staff, 'Couplers,' in half, to rupture the brotherly relationship between Judahand Israel.	14 E ruppi l'altra mia verga chiamata la Funicella, affin di rompere la fratellanza tra Giuda, e Israele.
15 Next, Yahweh said to me, 'This time, take the gear of a good-for-nothing shepherd.	15 E il Signore disse a me: Prenditi ancora i segnali di un pastore insensato.
16 For I am now going to raise a shepherd in this country, who wil not bother about the lost, who will notgo in search of the stray, who wil not heal the injured, who wil not support the swollen, but who wil eat the meatof the fat ones, tearing off their very hoofs.	16 Perocché io già farò uscir fuora sulla terra un pastore, che non visiterà le pecore abbandonate, non cercherà le disperse, non sanerà le ammalate, e a quelle, che stanno in piedi, non darà nutrimento, e si mangerà delle grasse la carne, e romperà ad esse gli stinchi.
17 Disaster to the shepherd who deserts his flock! May the sword attack his arm and his right eye! Mayhis arm shrivel completely and his right eye be total y blinded!'	17 O pastore, ed o idolo, che lasci il gregge in abbandono! La spada lo colpirà nel braccio, e nel suo destro occhio: il suo braccio inaridirà, e si seccherà, e il suo destro occhio ottene bratosi si oscurerà.
