Zechariah 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to the prophetZechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	1 Il mese ottavo dell'anno secondo del re Dario, il Signore parlò a Zaccaria, figlio di Barachia, figlio di Addo, profeta, e gli disse:
2 'Yahweh was deeply angry with your ancestors.	2 « Il Signore si adirò grandemente contro i vostri padri.
3 So say this to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Return to me -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and I willreturn to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	3 Ma tu dirai loro: Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: Tornate a me dice il Signore degli eserciti — e tornerò a voi — dice il Signore degli eserciti. —
4 Do not be like your ancestors when the prophets in the past cried to them: Yahweh Sabaoth says this:Turn back from your evil ways and evil deeds -- they would not listen or pay attention to me -- Yahweh declares.	4 Cercato di non essere simili ai vostri padri, ai quali predicavano gli antichi profeti, dicendo: — Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Convertitevi dalle vostre vie perverse, dai vostri pessimi pensieri. — Ma essi non ascoltarono, non dettero retta dice il Signore.
5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live for ever?	5 Dove sono i vostri padri? E i profeti dureranno in eterno?
6 But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake yourancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do,and as our ways and deeds deserved.'	6 Le mie parole, i miei decreti promulgati per mezzo dei profeti miei servi non arrivaron forse ai vostri padri, i quali si convertirono e dissero: — Quello che il Signore degli eserciti aveva pensato di farci, secondo le opere nostre e i nostri traviamenti, ce l'ha fatto? »
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat), in the second year of Darius, theword of Yahweh was addressed to the prophet Zechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	7 Il ventiquattro dell'undecimo mese di Su fiat, nell'anno secondo di Dario, la parola del Signore fu indirizzata al profeta Zaccaria, figlio di Barachia, figlio di Addo, in questi termini:
8 'I had a vision during the night. There was a man riding a red horse standing among the deep-rootedmyrtles; behind him were other horses-red, chestnut and white.	8 « Io ebbi durante la notte una visione: Ecco un uomo sopra un cavallo rosso, stava in un burrone fra i mirti, e dietro a lui venivano cavalli rossi, vaii e bianchi.
9 I said, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking to me said, "I will show you what they are."	9 E io dissi: « Signor mio, questi chi sono? » E l'angelo che parlava con me mi disse: « Io ti mostrerò che siano queste cose ».
10 The man standing among the myrtles then replied, "Those are they whom Yahweh has sent to patrolthe world."	10 E l'uomo che stava tra i mirti prese la parola e disse: « Questi son quelli che il Signore ha mandati a scorrere la terra ».
11 They reported to the angel of Yahweh as he stood among the myrtles, "We have been patrol ing theworld, and indeed the whole world is stil and at peace."	11 E quelli risposero all'angelo del Signore, che stava fra i mirti, e dissero: « Abbiamo scorsa la terra, ed abbiamo veduto che tutta la terra è abitata e tranquilla ».
12 The angel of Yahweh then spoke and said, "Yahweh Sabaoth, how long wil you wait before taking pityon Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, on which you have inflicted your anger for the past seventy years?"	12 E l'angelo del Signore, presa la parola, disse: « Signore degli eserciti, fino a quando non avrai pietà di Gerusalemme e delle città di Giuda, colle quali sei sdegnato? Questo è già il settantesimo anno! »
13 Yahweh then replied with kind and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me.	13 E il Signore rispose con buone parole, con parole di consolazione, all'angelo che parlava con me.
14 The angel who was talking to me then said to me, "Make this proclamation: Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: I am burning with jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion	14 E l'angelo che parlava con me mi disse: « Alza la voce e di': Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: Io sono stato animato da grande zelo per Gerusalemme e per Sion,
15 but am deeply angry with the nations now at ease; before, I was only mildly angry, but they contributedto the disaster.	15 e sono ancora infiammato da grande furore contro le nazioni ricche ;ero infatti un poco adirato, ma esse hanno aiutato fino alla rovina.
16 So now Yahweh says this: In compassion I have returned to Jerusalem; my Temple will be rebuiltthere -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and the measuring line wil be stretched over Jerusalem.	16 Per questo, così dice il Signore: Mi volgerò con misericordia a Gerusalemme e in essa sarà riedificata la mia casa, — dice il Signore degli eserciti — e il filo a piombo sarà steso sopra Gerusalemme.
17 Make this proclamation too: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: My cities are once more to be veryprosperous. Yahweh will comfort Zion once again, and again make Jerusalem his choice." '	17 Alza ancora la voce, e di': Così parla il Signore degli eserciti; Le mie città avranno ancora abbondanza di beni, il Signore consolerà ancora Sion, ed eleggerà ancora Gerusalemme ».
	18 Ed io alzai gli occhi e vidi. Ed ecco quattro corni.
	19 E dissi all'angelo che parlava con me: « Queste che sono? » Ed egli mi disse: « Queste son corna che han gettato al vento Giuda, Israele e Gerusalemme ».
	20 E il Signore mi fece vedere quattro fabbri.
	21 E io dissi: « Che vengono a fare costoro? » Ed egli rispose, dicendo: « Quelle son le corna che gettarono al vento Giuda, a uno a uno, e nessuno di essi potè alzare la testa, e questi son venuti a spaventarle, ad abbattere le corna delie nazioni che hanno alzato il corno contro la terra di Giuda, per sterminarla ».
