Zechariah 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to the prophetZechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	1 - Nel mese ottavo, nell'anno secondo del re Dario, il Signore comunicò la sua parola a Zaccaria figlio di Barachia, figlio di Addo, profeta dicendo:
2 'Yahweh was deeply angry with your ancestors.	2 «Il Signore si è irritato di sdegno contro i padri vostri;
3 So say this to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Return to me -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and I willreturn to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	3 tu dunque dirai loro, così dice il Signore degli eserciti: - Tornate a me, dice il Signore degli eserciti, ed io tornerò a voi, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
4 Do not be like your ancestors when the prophets in the past cried to them: Yahweh Sabaoth says this:Turn back from your evil ways and evil deeds -- they would not listen or pay attention to me -- Yahweh declares.	4 Non siate come i padri vostri, ai quali i profeti precedenti predicarono dicendo: "Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Mutate la vostra cattiva condotta e i vostri pessimi costumi". Ma non udirono, e non mi diedero ascolto, dice il Signore.
5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live for ever?	5 I vostri padri dove sono? E i profeti possono vivere eternamente?
6 But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake yourancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do,and as our ways and deeds deserved.'	6 Però le mie parole e le mie intimazioni fatte per mezzo dei profeti, miei servi, non hanno forse raggiunto i vostri padri? Si ravvidero infatti e dissero: "Quello che il Signore degli eserciti aveva risoluto di fare a noi secondo i nostri traviamenti e le nostre azioni, ce l'ha fatto!" -».
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat), in the second year of Darius, theword of Yahweh was addressed to the prophet Zechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	7 Nel giorno vigesimoquarto del mese undicesimo, cioè Sabat, nel secondo anno di Dario, il Signore comunicò la parola a Zaccaria, figlio di Barachia, figlio di Addo, profeta e disse:
8 'I had a vision during the night. There was a man riding a red horse standing among the deep-rootedmyrtles; behind him were other horses-red, chestnut and white.	8 «Durante la notte ebbi una visione, ed ecco un uomo montato sopra di un cavallo rosso, stava in uno sfondo di mirti e dietro a lui erano cavalli rossi, pezzati e bianchi.
9 I said, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking to me said, "I will show you what they are."	9 E dissi: - Chi sono costoro, signor mio? - E l'angelo che parlava con me mi rispose: - Io ti mostrerò che cosa questi sono! -
10 The man standing among the myrtles then replied, "Those are they whom Yahweh has sent to patrolthe world."	10 E l'uomo che stava tra i mirti mi rivolse la parola dicendo: - Questi sono quelli che il Signore ha inviati a percorrere la terra. -
11 They reported to the angel of Yahweh as he stood among the myrtles, "We have been patrol ing theworld, and indeed the whole world is stil and at peace."	11 E risposero all'angelo del Signore che stava tra i mirti dicendo: - Abbiamo percorsa la terra; ed ecco, tutta la terra è abitata e in quiete. -
12 The angel of Yahweh then spoke and said, "Yahweh Sabaoth, how long wil you wait before taking pityon Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, on which you have inflicted your anger for the past seventy years?"	12 E l'angelo del Signore ripigliò dicendo: - Signore degli eserciti, fino a quando non avrai compassione di Gerusalemme e delle città di Giuda, colle quali tu sei sdegnato? Questo è già il settantesimo anno! -
13 Yahweh then replied with kind and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me.	13 E il Signore, all'angelo che s'intratteneva meco, rispose buone parole, parole di consolazione.
14 The angel who was talking to me then said to me, "Make this proclamation: Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: I am burning with jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion	14 E l'angelo che parlava meco mi disse: - Alza la voce ed esclama: " Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Io sono estremamente geloso di Gerusalemme e di Sion;
15 but am deeply angry with the nations now at ease; before, I was only mildly angry, but they contributedto the disaster.	15 e mi sento grandemente indignato contro quelle opulente nazioni; perchè, per un momento che mi sono sdegnato, si sono approfittate per fare del male.
16 So now Yahweh says this: In compassion I have returned to Jerusalem; my Temple will be rebuiltthere -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and the measuring line wil be stretched over Jerusalem.	16 Per questo, così dice il Signore: io tornerò a Gerusalemme colla misericordia, e la mia Casa sarà in essa riedificata, dice il Signore degli eserciti, e l'archipenzolo si ritenderà in Gerusalemme".
17 Make this proclamation too: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: My cities are once more to be veryprosperous. Yahweh will comfort Zion once again, and again make Jerusalem his choice." '	17 Grida ancora dicendo: "Così dice il Signore degli eserciti: Le mie città ridonderanno ancora di beni e il Signore consolerà di nuovo Sion e rieleggerà Gerusalemme". -
	18 E levai i miei occhi e vidi, ed ecco quattro corna.
	19 E dissi all'angelo che trattava con me: - Che sono queste? - Ed egli mi disse: - Queste sono le corna che hanno malmenato Giuda e Israele e Gerusalemme. -
	20 E il Signore mi fece vedere quattro fabbri
	21 e chiesi: - Che vengono a fare costoro?- Ed egli: - Quelle sono le quattro corna che hanno malmenato quei di Giuda uno per uno, senza che alcuno di essi potesse rizzar il capo; e questi son venuti per sgomentarle, anzi per abbattere le corna delle nazioni che si erano rizzate contro la terra di Giuda per metterla a soqquadro. -
