Zechariah 1

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to the prophetZechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	1 Le huitième mois de la deuxième année de Darius, la parole de Yahvé fut adressée ainsi à Zacharie, fils de Bérékya fils d’Iddo:
2 'Yahweh was deeply angry with your ancestors.	2 “Yahvé s’est vraiment mis en colère contre vos pères!”
3 So say this to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Return to me -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and I willreturn to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	3 Puis tu ajouteras: “Voici ce que dit Yahvé Sabaot: Revenez à moi et je reviendrai à vous,
4 Do not be like your ancestors when the prophets in the past cried to them: Yahweh Sabaoth says this:Turn back from your evil ways and evil deeds -- they would not listen or pay attention to me -- Yahweh declares.	4 ne soyez pas comme vos pères. Les prophètes d’autrefois leur criaient: Voici ce que dit Yahvé Sabaot: Revenez donc de vos mauvais chemins et de vos mauvaises pratiques. Mais ils n’ont pas entendu, ils n’ont pas prêté l’oreille - parole de Yahvé.
5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live for ever?	5 Vos pères, où sont-ils? Les prophètes aussi ont terminé leur vie.
6 But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake yourancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do,and as our ways and deeds deserved.'	6 Mais les paroles et les ordres que j’avais confiés à mes serviteurs les prophètes se sont si bien accomplis pour vos pères, qu’ils sont revenus vers moi et ont reconnu: “Yahvé Sabaot nous a traités selon nos voies et nos pratiques, comme il avait décidé de le faire.”
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat), in the second year of Darius, theword of Yahweh was addressed to the prophet Zechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	7 Le vingt-quatrième jour du onzième mois (c’est le mois de Chebat), en la deuxième année de Darius, une parole de Yahvé fut adressée au prophète Zacharie, fils de Bérékya fils d’Iddo.
8 'I had a vision during the night. There was a man riding a red horse standing among the deep-rootedmyrtles; behind him were other horses-red, chestnut and white.	8 La voici: Durant la nuit j’ai eu une vision, un homme montait un cheval roux et se tenait au milieu de buissons à grosses racines; derrière lui il y avait des chevaux roux, bruns et blancs.
9 I said, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking to me said, "I will show you what they are."	9 Je dis: “Mon Seigneur, qui sont-ils?” Et l’ange qui me parlait répondit: “Je te ferai voir qui ils sont.”
10 The man standing among the myrtles then replied, "Those are they whom Yahweh has sent to patrolthe world."	10 L’homme qui se tenait au milieu des buissons répondit: “Ce sont ceux que Yahvé a envoyés pour parcourir la terre.”
11 They reported to the angel of Yahweh as he stood among the myrtles, "We have been patrol ing theworld, and indeed the whole world is stil and at peace."	11 Alors ils se tournèrent vers l’ange de Yahvé qui se tenait au milieu des buissons et lui dirent: “Nous venons de parcourir la terre, et voici que toute la terre est en paix et tranquille.”
12 The angel of Yahweh then spoke and said, "Yahweh Sabaoth, how long wil you wait before taking pityon Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, on which you have inflicted your anger for the past seventy years?"	12 À ce moment l’ange de Yahvé prit la parole et dit: “Yahvé Sabaot, combien de temps encore attendras-tu pour faire miséricorde à Jérusalem et aux villes de Juda à qui tu as fait sentir ta colère depuis 70 ans?”
13 Yahweh then replied with kind and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me.	13 Yahvé dit à l’ange qui me parlait de bonnes paroles, des paroles de consolation.
14 The angel who was talking to me then said to me, "Make this proclamation: Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: I am burning with jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion	14 Aussi l’ange qui me parlait me dit-il: “Tu rediras ces paroles de Yahvé Sabaot: J’éprouve un amour jaloux pour Jérusalem et pour Sion.
15 but am deeply angry with the nations now at ease; before, I was only mildly angry, but they contributedto the disaster.	15 Par contre je suis très en colère contre les nations qui vivent bien tranquilles; car moi, j’étais un peu en colère, mais elles, elles ont tout laissé en ruine.
16 So now Yahweh says this: In compassion I have returned to Jerusalem; my Temple will be rebuiltthere -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and the measuring line wil be stretched over Jerusalem.	16 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je reviens vers Jérusalem avec de bonnes dispositions; ma Maison y sera reconstruite - parole de Yahvé Sabaot, et l’on tendra sur Jérusalem le cordeau des maçons. 17 Proclame encore ceci que Yahvé Sabaot vous dit: Mes villes déborderont de richesse; Yahvé consolera encore Sion, Jérusalem sera encore sa préférée.”
17 Make this proclamation too: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: My cities are once more to be veryprosperous. Yahweh will comfort Zion once again, and again make Jerusalem his choice." '
