Zechariah 1

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to the prophetZechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	1 في الشهر الثامن في السنة الثانية لداريوس كانت كلمة الرب الى زكريا بن برخيا بن عدّو النبي قائلا
2 'Yahweh was deeply angry with your ancestors.	2 قد غضب الرب غضبا على آبائكم.
3 So say this to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Return to me -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and I willreturn to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	3 فقل لهم. هكذا قال رب الجنود. ارجعوا اليّ يقول رب الجنود فارجع اليكم يقول رب الجنود.
4 Do not be like your ancestors when the prophets in the past cried to them: Yahweh Sabaoth says this:Turn back from your evil ways and evil deeds -- they would not listen or pay attention to me -- Yahweh declares.	4 لا تكونوا كآبائكم الذين ناداهم الانبياء الاولون قائلين هكذا قال رب الجنود ارجعوا عن طرقكم الشريرة وعن اعمالكم الشريرة. فلم يسمعوا ولم يصغوا اليّ يقول رب الجنود.
5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live for ever?	5 آباؤكم اين هم. والانبياء هل ابدا يحيون.
6 But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake yourancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do,and as our ways and deeds deserved.'	6 ولكن كلامي وفرائضي التي اوصيت بها عبيدي الانبياء أفلم تدرك آباءكم. فرجعوا وقالوا كما قصد رب الجنود ان يصنع بنا كطرقنا وكاعمالنا كذلك فعل بنا
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat), in the second year of Darius, theword of Yahweh was addressed to the prophet Zechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	7 في اليوم الرابع والعشرين من الشهر الحادي عشر. هو شهر شباط. في السنة الثانية لداريوس كانت كلمة الرب الى زكريا بن برخيا بن عدّو النبي قائلا
8 'I had a vision during the night. There was a man riding a red horse standing among the deep-rootedmyrtles; behind him were other horses-red, chestnut and white.	8 رأيت في الليل واذا برجل راكب على فرس احمر وهو واقف بين الآس الذي في الظل وخلفه خيل حمر وشقر وشهب.
9 I said, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking to me said, "I will show you what they are."	9 فقلت يا سيدي ما هؤلاء. فقال لي الملاك الذي كلمني انا أريك ما هؤلاء.
10 The man standing among the myrtles then replied, "Those are they whom Yahweh has sent to patrolthe world."	10 فاجاب الرجل الواقف بين الآس وقال هؤلاء هم الذين ارسلهم الرب للجولان في الارض.
11 They reported to the angel of Yahweh as he stood among the myrtles, "We have been patrol ing theworld, and indeed the whole world is stil and at peace."	11 فاجابوا ملاك الرب الواقف بين الآس وقالوا قد جلنا في الارض واذا الارض كلها مستريحة وساكنة
12 The angel of Yahweh then spoke and said, "Yahweh Sabaoth, how long wil you wait before taking pityon Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, on which you have inflicted your anger for the past seventy years?"	12 فاجاب ملاك الرب وقال. يا رب الجنود الى متى انت لا ترحم اورشليم ومدن يهوذا التي غضبت عليها هذه السبعين سنة.
13 Yahweh then replied with kind and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me.	13 فاجاب الرب الملاك الذي كلمني بكلام طيب وكلام تعزية.
14 The angel who was talking to me then said to me, "Make this proclamation: Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: I am burning with jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion	14 فقال لي الملاك الذي كلمني ناد قائلا. هكذا قال رب الجنود. غرت على اورشليم وعلى صهيون غيرة عظيمة.
15 but am deeply angry with the nations now at ease; before, I was only mildly angry, but they contributedto the disaster.	15 وانا مغضب بغضب عظيم على الامم المطمئنين. لاني غضبت قليلا وهم اعانوا الشر.
16 So now Yahweh says this: In compassion I have returned to Jerusalem; my Temple will be rebuiltthere -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and the measuring line wil be stretched over Jerusalem.	16 لذلك هكذا قال الرب. قد رجعت الى اورشليم بالمراحم فبيتي يبنى فيها يقول رب الجنود ويمد المطمار على اورشليم.
17 Make this proclamation too: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: My cities are once more to be veryprosperous. Yahweh will comfort Zion once again, and again make Jerusalem his choice." '	17 ناد ايضا وقل. هكذا قال رب الجنود. ان مدني تفيض بعد خيرا والرب يعزّي صهيون بعد ويختار بعد اورشليم
	18 فرفعت عينيّ ونظرت واذا باربعة قرون.
	19 فقلت للملاك الذي كلمني. ما هذه. فقال لي هذه هي القرون التي بددت يهوذا واسرائيل واورشليم.
	20 فاراني الرب اربعة صنّاع.
	21 فقلت جاء هؤلاء ماذا يفعلون. فتكلم قائلا هذه هي القرون التي بددت يهوذا حتى لم يرفع انسان راسه. وقد جاء هؤلاء ليرعبوهم وليطردوا قرون الامم الرافعين قرنا على ارض يهوذا لتبديدها
