1 These were the descendants of Aaron and Moses, at the time when Yahweh spoke to Moses onMount Sinai.	1 Estas são as gerações de Aarão e de Moisés, no dia em que o Senhor falou a Moisés no monte Sinai.
2 These were the names of Aaron's sons: Nadab the eldest, then Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	2 Estes são os nomes dos filhos de Aarão: Nadab, o seu primogénito, depois Abiu, Eleazar e Itamar.
3 Such were the names of Aaron's sons, priests anointed and invested with the powers of thepriesthood.	3 Estes são os nomes dos filhos de Aarão, sacerdotes ungidos e consagrados para exercerem as funções do sacerdócio.
4 Nadab and Abihu died in Yahweh's presence, in the desert of Sinai, when they offered unauthorisedfire before Yahweh. They left no children and so it fel to Eleazar and Ithamar to exercise the priesthood undertheir father Aaron.	4 Nadab e Abiu, tendo oferecido um fogo estranho na presença do Senhor no deserto do Sinai, morreram sem filhos: Eleazar e Itamar exerceram as funções do sacerdócio na presença de seu pai Aarão.
5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	5 O Senhor falou a Moisés, dizendo:
6 'Muster the tribe of Levi and put it at the disposal of the priest Aaron: they must be at his service.	6 Faze aproximar a tribo de Levi, e fá-la comparecer diante do sacerdote Aarão para o servirem, estarem de vigia,
7 They wil undertake the duties incumbent on him and the whole community before the Tent of Meeting,in serving the Dwel ing,	7 observarem tudo o que diz respeito ao culto da multidão diante do tabernáculo da reunião,
8 and they will be in charge of al the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and undertake the dutiesincumbent on the Israelites in serving the Dwel ing.	8 e para guardarem os vasos do tabernáculo servindo no seu ministério.
9 You wil present the Levites to Aaron and his sons as men dedicated; they wil be given to him by theIsraelites.	9 Darás os Levitas
10 'You will register Aaron and his sons, who wil carry out their priestly duty. But any unauthorisedperson who comes near must be put to death.'	10 a Aarão e aos seus filhos, aos quais os darás inteiramente, de entre os filhos de Israel. Estabelecerás Aarão e seus filhos nas funções do sacerdócio. O estranho, que se aproximar para ministrar, morrerá.
11 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	11 O Senhor falou a Moisés, dizendo:
12 'Look, I myself have chosen the Levites from the Israelites instead of all the first-born, those whoemerge first from the womb in Israel; the Levites therefore belong to me.	12 Eu tomei os Levitas dentre os filhos de Israel em lugar de todo o primogénito, que abre o seio de sua mãe entre os filhos de Israel, e os Levitas serão meus,
13 For every first-born belongs to me. On the day when I struck down al the first-born in Egypt, Iconsecrated al the first-born in Israel, human and animal, to be my own. They are mine, Yahweh's.'	13 porque todo o primogénito é meu. Desde o dia em que feri os primogénitos na terra do Egito, consagrei para mim todo o que nasce primeiro em Israel, desde o homem até ao animal. São meus. Eu sou o Senhor.
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai and said:	14 O Senhor falou a Moisés no deserto do Sinai, dizendo:
15 'You must take a census of Levi's descendants by families and clans; al the males of the age of onemonth and over wil be counted.'	15 Numera os filhos de Levi segundo as casas de seus pais e as suas famílias, todos os varões de um mês para cima.
16 At Yahweh's word Moses took a census of them, as Yahweh had ordered.	16 Moisés fez o recenseamento conforme o Senhor lhe tinha ordenado.
17 These were the names of Levi's sons: Gershon, Kohath and Merari.	17 Eis os filhos de Levi, segundo os seus nomes: Gerson, Caath e Merari.
18 These were the names of Gershon's sons by their clans: Libni and Shimei;	18 Filhos de Ger­son: Lební e Semei.
19 Kohath's sons by their clans: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel;	19 Filhos de Caath: Amrão, Jesaar, Hebron e Oziel.
20 Merari's sons by their clans: Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of Levi, grouped by families.	20 Filhos de Merari: Mooli e Musi.
21 From Gershon were descended the Libnite and Shimeite clans; these were the Gershonite clans.	21 De Gerson saíram duas famílias, a de Lebni, e a de Semei,
22 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to seven thousand five hundred.	22 toda a população masculina das quais, contada de um mês para cima, foi de sete mil e quinhentos.
23 The Gershonite clans pitched their camp behind the Dwelling, on the west side.	23 Estes acamparão detrás do tabernáculo ao ocidente,
24 The leader of the House of Gershon was Eliasaph son of Lael.	24 sob o príncipe Eliasaph, filho de Lael.
25 As regards the Tent of Meeting, the Gershonites had charge of the Dwel ing, the Tent and itscovering, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	25 Quanto ao tabernáculo da reunião, terão cuidado da tenda, da sua coberta, do véu que se corre diante da porta do tabernáculo da aliança,
26 the curtaining of the court, the screen for the entrance to the court surrounding the Dwel ing and thealtar, and the cords required in dealing with al this.	26 das cortinas do átrio e também do véu que está pendurado à entrada do átrio do tabernáculo, e de tudo o que pertence ao ministério do altar, das cordas do tabernáculo e de todos os seus utensílios.
27 From Kohath were descended the Amramite, Izharite, Hebronite and Uzzielite clans; these were theKohathite clans.	27 De Caath procedem as famílias dos Amramitas, Jesaaritas, Hebronitas e Ozielitas. Estas são as famílias provenientes de Caath, recenseadas segundo os seus nomes.
28 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to eight thousand three hundred.They were in charge of the sanctuary.	28 O censo de todos os varões, de um mês para cima, deu oito mil e seiscentos, que velarão pela guarda do santuário,
29 The Kohathite clans pitched their camp on the south side of the Dwel ing.	29 e acamparão na parte meridional.
30 The leader of the house of the Kohathite clans was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.	30 O seu príncipe será Elisafan, filho de Oziel.
31 They were in charge of the ark, the table, the lamp-stand, the altars, the sacred vessels used in theliturgy, and the curtain with al its fittings.	31 Guardarão a arca, a mesa, o candeeiro, os altares e os vasos do santuário, que servem para o ministério, e o véu, e todos os outros objetos deste gênero.
32 The chief of the Levite leaders was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest. He supervised the peopleresponsible for the sanctuary.	32 Eleázaro, filho do sacerdote Aarão, e príncipe dos príncipes dos Levitas, terá a superintendência sobre os que velam pela guarda do santuário.
33 From Merari were descended the Mahlite and Mushite clans; these were the Merarite clans.	33 De Merari sairam as famílias dos Moolitas e dos Musitas, recenseados segundo os seus nomes.
34 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to six thousand two hundred.	34 Os varões, de um mês para cima, somaram seis mil e duzentos.
35 The leader of the House of the Merarite clans was Zuriel, son of Abihail. They pitched their camp onthe north side of the Dwel ing.	35 O seu príncipe é Suriel, filho de Abiaiel; acamparão na parte setentrional.
36 The Merarites were in charge of the framework of the Dwelling, with its crossbars, poles, sockets andal its accessories and fittings,	36 Debaixo da sua guarda estarão as tábuas do tabernáculo, os varais, as colunas com suas bases, com tudo o que pertence a estas coisas,
37 and also the poles round the court, with their sockets, pegs and cords.	37 e as colunas que cercam o átrio com as suas bases, as suas estacas e as suas cordas.
38 Final y, on the east side, in front of the Dwel ing, in front of the Tent of Meeting, towards the east, wasthe camp of Moses and Aaron and his sons, who had charge of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyunauthorised person coming near was to be put to death.	38 Moisés e Aarão com seus filhos acamparão diante do tabernáculo da reunião, ao oriente, e terão a guarda do santuário no meio dos filhos de Israel: todo o estranho que se aproximar morrerá.
39 The total number of male Levites of the age of one month and over, whom Moses counted by clansas Yahweh had ordered, came to twenty-two thousand.	39 Todos os Levitas, que Moisés e Aarão recensearam, por ordem do Senhor, segundo as suas famílias, entre os varões de um mês para cima, foram vinte e dois mil.
40 Yahweh said to Moses: 'Take a census of al the first-born of the Israelites, al the males from the ageof one month and over; take a census of them by name.	40 O Senhor disse a Moisés: Conta os primogênitos varões dos filhos de Israel, de um mês para cima, e farás a soma deles.
41 You will then present the Levites to me, Yahweh, instead of Israel, and similarly the Levites' cattleinstead of the first-born cattle of the Israelites.'	41 Tomarás para mim os Levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos dos filhos de Israel. Eu sou o Senhor: (tomarei) os gados dos Levitas em vez de todos os primogênitos dos gados dos filhos de Israel.
42 As Yahweh ordered, Moses took a census of al the first-born of the Israelites.	42 Fez Moisés o recenseamento dos primogênitos dos filhos de Israel como o Senhor tinha ordenado.
43 The total count, by name, of the first-born from the age of one month and over came to twenty-twothousand two hundred and seventy-three.	43 Os varões, contados segundo os seus nomes, de um mês para cima, foram vinte e dois mil e duzentos e setenta e três.
44 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said:	44 O Senhor falou a Moisés, dizendo:
45 'Take the Levites instead of al the first-born of the Israelites, and the Levites' cattle instead of theircattle; the Levites will be mine, Yahweh's.	45 Toma os Levitas em vez dos primogénitos dos filhos de Israel, e os gados dos Levitas em vez dos seus gados. Os Levitas serão meus. Eu sou o Senhor.
46 For the ransom of the two hundred and seventy-three first-born of the Israelites in excess of thenumber of Levites,	46 Pelo preço dos duzentos e setenta e três primogênitos dos filhos de Israel, que excedem o número dos Levitas,
47 you wil take five shekels for each, by the sanctuary shekel, at twenty gerah to the shekel;	47 receberás cinco siclos por cabeça, segundo a medida do santuário. O siclo tem vinte óbulos.
48 you wil then give this money to Aaron and his sons as the ransom for the extra number.'	48 Darás este dinheiro a Aarão e a seus filhos como preço dos primogénitos que ultrapassam o número dos Levitas;
49 Moses took the ransom money for the extra ones unransomed by the Levites;	49 Tomou, pois, Moisés o dinheiro por aqueles que ultrapassavam o número dos resgatados pelos Levitas,
50 he took the money for the first-born of the Israelites: one thousand three hundred and sixty-fiveshekels, by the sanctuary shekel;	50 tomou o dinheiro do resgate dos primogênitos dos filhos de Israel, mil trezentos e sessenta e cinco siclos segundo a medida do santuário,
51 and Moses then handed over their ransom money to Aaron and his sons, at Yahweh's bidding, asYahweh had ordered Moses.	51 e deu-o a Aarão e a seus filhos, conforme a ordem que o Senhor lhe tinha dado.
