NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 These were the descendants of Aaron and Moses, at the time when Yahweh spoke to Moses onMount Sinai.	1 Eis a posteridade de Aarão e de Moisés, no tempo em que o Senhor falou a Moisés no monte Sinai.
2 These were the names of Aaron's sons: Nadab the eldest, then Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	2 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Aarão: Nadab, o mais velho, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.
3 Such were the names of Aaron's sons, priests anointed and invested with the powers of thepriesthood.	3 São estes os nomes dos filhos de Aarão, sacerdotes que receberam a unção e a investidura sacerdotal.
4 Nadab and Abihu died in Yahweh's presence, in the desert of Sinai, when they offered unauthorisedfire before Yahweh. They left no children and so it fel to Eleazar and Ithamar to exercise the priesthood undertheir father Aaron.	4 Nadab e Abiú morreram diante do Senhor, quando levaram à sua presença um fogo estranho no deserto do Sinai. Não tinham filhos. Eleazar e Itamar exerceram o ministério sacerdotal em presença de Aarão, seu pai.
5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	5 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
6 'Muster the tribe of Levi and put it at the disposal of the priest Aaron: they must be at his service.	6 "Manda vir a tribo de Levi e apresenta-a ao sacerdote Aarão para servi-lo.
7 They wil undertake the duties incumbent on him and the whole community before the Tent of Meeting,in serving the Dwel ing,	7 Os levitas se encarregarão de tudo o que foi confiado aos seus cuidados e aos de toda a assembléia, diante da tenda de reunião: e farão assim o serviço do tabernáculo.
8 and they will be in charge of al the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and undertake the dutiesincumbent on the Israelites in serving the Dwel ing.	8 Cuidarão de todos os utensílios da tenda de reunião e do que foi confiado aos cuidados dos israelitas; e farão assim o serviço do tabernáculo.
9 You wil present the Levites to Aaron and his sons as men dedicated; they wil be given to him by theIsraelites.	9 Darás os levitas a Aarão e seus filhos. Eles serão escolhidos dentre os filhos de Israel para serem inteiramente dele.
10 'You will register Aaron and his sons, who wil carry out their priestly duty. But any unauthorisedperson who comes near must be put to death.'	10 Estabelecerás Aarão e seus filhos para exercerem o ministério sacerdotal. O estrangeiro que se aproximar do santuário será punido de morte."
11 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	11 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
12 'Look, I myself have chosen the Levites from the Israelites instead of all the first-born, those whoemerge first from the womb in Israel; the Levites therefore belong to me.	12 "Eu tomei os levitas dentre os filhos de Israel em lugar de todo primogênito, que abre o seio de sua mãe entre todos os israelitas. Os levitas serão meus.
13 For every first-born belongs to me. On the day when I struck down al the first-born in Egypt, Iconsecrated al the first-born in Israel, human and animal, to be my own. They are mine, Yahweh's.'	13 Com efeito, todo primogênito é meu. No dia em que feri todos os primogênitos no Egito, reservei para mim todos os que nascem primeiro em Israel, desde os homens até os animais; são meus. Eu sou o Senhor."
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai and said:	14 O Senhor disse a Moisés no deserto do Sinai:
15 'You must take a census of Levi's descendants by families and clans; al the males of the age of onemonth and over wil be counted.'	15 "Conta os levitas segundo suas casas patriarcais e segundo suas famílias, todos os varões de um mês para cima."
16 At Yahweh's word Moses took a census of them, as Yahweh had ordered.	16 E Moisés fez esse recenseamento conforme o Senhor lhe tinha ordenado.
17 These were the names of Levi's sons: Gershon, Kohath and Merari.	17 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Levi: Gérson, Caat e Merari.
18 These were the names of Gershon's sons by their clans: Libni and Shimei;	18 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Gérson, segundo suas famílias: Lebni e Semei.
19 Kohath's sons by their clans: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel;	19 Filhos de Caat segundo suas famílias: Amrão, Jesaar, Hebron e Oziel.
20 Merari's sons by their clans: Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of Levi, grouped by families.	20 Filhos de Merari, segundo suas famílias: Mooli e Musi. São estas as famílias de Levi, segundo suas casas patriarcais.
21 From Gershon were descended the Libnite and Shimeite clans; these were the Gershonite clans.	21 De Gérson provêm as famílias de Lebni e de Semei: são as famílias dos gersonitas.
22 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to seven thousand five hundred.	22 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, foram recenseados 7.500.
23 The Gershonite clans pitched their camp behind the Dwelling, on the west side.	23 As famílias dos gersonitas acampavam ao ocidente, atrás do tabernáculo.
24 The leader of the House of Gershon was Eliasaph son of Lael.	24 O príncipe da casa patriarcal dos gersonitas era Eliasaf, filho de Lael.
25 As regards the Tent of Meeting, the Gershonites had charge of the Dwel ing, the Tent and itscovering, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	25 Na tenda de reunião tinham os gersonitas o cuidado do tabernáculo e da tenda, de sua coberta, do véu que cobria a entrada da tenda de reunião,

28 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to eight thousand three hundred.They were in charge of the sanctuary.	28 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, havia 8.300 encarregados do santuário.
29 The Kohathite clans pitched their camp on the south side of the Dwel ing.	29 As famílias dos caatitas acampavam para a banda do meio-dia, ao lado do tabernáculo.
30 The leader of the house of the Kohathite clans was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.	30 O príncipe da casa patriarcal das famílias dos caatitas era Elisafã, filho de Oziel.
31 They were in charge of the ark, the table, the lamp-stand, the altars, the sacred vessels used in theliturgy, and the curtain with al its fittings.	31 Aos seus cuidados foi confiada a guarda da arca, da mesa, do candelabro, dos altares e dos utensílios do santuário que serviam para o ministério, o véu e tudo o que se relacionava com o seu serviço.
32 The chief of the Levite leaders was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest. He supervised the peopleresponsible for the sanctuary.	32 O príncipe dos príncipes dos levitas era Eleazar, filho do sacerdote Aarão: ele tinha a superintendência sobre os que velavam pela guarda do santuário.
33 From Merari were descended the Mahlite and Mushite clans; these were the Merarite clans.	33 De Merari provêm a família dos moolitas e as dos musitas: estas são as famílias dos meraritas.
34 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to six thousand two hundred.	34 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, foram recenseados 6.200.
35 The leader of the House of the Merarite clans was Zuriel, son of Abihail. They pitched their camp onthe north side of the Dwel ing.	35 O príncipe da casa patriarcal das famílias de Merari era Suriel, filho de Abiaiel. Acampavam ao norte do tabernáculo.
36 The Merarites were in charge of the framework of the Dwelling, with its crossbars, poles, sockets andal its accessories and fittings,	36 Os filhos de Merari tinham a guarda das tábuas do tabernáculo, de suas travessas, suas colunas, seus pedestais, de todos os seus utensílios e de todo o seu serviço,

38 Final y, on the east side, in front of the Dwel ing, in front of the Tent of Meeting, towards the east, wasthe camp of Moses and Aaron and his sons, who had charge of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyunauthorised person coming near was to be put to death.	38 Moisés, Aarão e seus filhos acampavam diante do tabernáculo, ao oriente, diante da tenda de reunião, ao nascente, e tinham o cuidado do santuário para os israelitas. O estrangeiro que se aproximasse devia ser punido de morte.
39 The total number of male Levites of the age of one month and over, whom Moses counted by clansas Yahweh had ordered, came to twenty-two thousand.	39 O total dos levitas recenseados por Moisés, segundo suas famílias, assim como o Senhor ordenara todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, era de 22.000
40 Yahweh said to Moses: 'Take a census of al the first-born of the Israelites, al the males from the ageof one month and over; take a census of them by name.	40 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Faze o recenseamento de todos os primogênitos varões entre os israelitas, da idade de um mês para cima, e faze o levantamento dos seus nomes.
41 You will then present the Levites to me, Yahweh, instead of Israel, and similarly the Levites' cattleinstead of the first-born cattle of the Israelites.'	41 Tomarás para mim os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos israelitas. Eu sou o Senhor. Tomarás o gado dos levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos do gado dos israelitas."
42 As Yahweh ordered, Moses took a census of al the first-born of the Israelites.	42 Moisés recenseou todos os primogênitos israelitas segundo a ordem que lhe tinha dado o Senhor.
43 The total count, by name, of the first-born from the age of one month and over came to twenty-twothousand two hundred and seventy-three.	43 Todos os primogênitos varões recenseados e contados nominalmente, da idade de um mês para cima, eram 22.273.
44 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said:	44 O Senhor disse a Moisés:
45 'Take the Levites instead of al the first-born of the Israelites, and the Levites' cattle instead of theircattle; the Levites will be mine, Yahweh's.	45 "Toma os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos israelitas, e o gado dos levitas em lugar do deles. Os levitas serão meus. Eu sou o Senhor.
46 For the ransom of the two hundred and seventy-three first-born of the Israelites in excess of thenumber of Levites,	46 Como resgate dos 273 primogênitos israelitas que excedem o número dos levitas,
47 you wil take five shekels for each, by the sanctuary shekel, at twenty gerah to the shekel;	47 tomarás cinco siclos por cabeça, de acordo com o siclo do santuário, o qual é de vinte gueras.
48 you wil then give this money to Aaron and his sons as the ransom for the extra number.'	48 Darás esse dinheiro a Aarão e a seus filhos para o resgate daqueles que ultrapassam o número dos levitas".
49 Moses took the ransom money for the extra ones unransomed by the Levites;	49 Moisés pegou o dinheiro do resgate dos primogênitos que ultrapassavam o número dos que tinham sido resgatados pelos levitas.
50 he took the money for the first-born of the Israelites: one thousand three hundred and sixty-fiveshekels, by the sanctuary shekel;	50 Assim recolheu a quantia de 1.365 siclos, segundo o siclo do santuário.
51 and Moses then handed over their ransom money to Aaron and his sons, at Yahweh's bidding, asYahweh had ordered Moses.	51 E Moisés entregou o dinheiro do resgate a Aarão e a seus filhos, conforme a ordem que o Senhor lhe tinha dado.
