1 These were the descendants of Aaron and Moses, at the time when Yahweh spoke to Moses onMount Sinai.	1 - Quest'è la discendenza di Aronne e Mosè, al tempo nel quale parlò il Signore a Mosè sul monte Sinai.
2 These were the names of Aaron's sons: Nadab the eldest, then Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	2 Questi sono i nomi de' figliuoli d'Aronne: Nadab suo primogenito; poi, Abiu, Eleazaro e Itamar.
3 Such were the names of Aaron's sons, priests anointed and invested with the powers of thepriesthood.	3 Son questi i nomi de' figli di Aronne, sacerdoti, che furon uniti, e le cui mani furon riempite e consacrate per servire nel sacerdozio.
4 Nadab and Abihu died in Yahweh's presence, in the desert of Sinai, when they offered unauthorisedfire before Yahweh. They left no children and so it fel to Eleazar and Ithamar to exercise the priesthood undertheir father Aaron.	4 Ma Nadab ed Abiu morirono senza figli nel deserto, per aver portato innanzi al Signore un fuoco profano; servirono perciò nel sacerdozio, insieme ad Aronne lor padre, Eleazaro e Itamar.
5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	5 Ora il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
6 'Muster the tribe of Levi and put it at the disposal of the priest Aaron: they must be at his service.	6 «Fa' che quelli della tribù di Levi vengano avanti, e stiano al cospetto di Aronne sacerdote, per ministrargli, per vegliare
7 They wil undertake the duties incumbent on him and the whole community before the Tent of Meeting,in serving the Dwel ing,	7 a guardia del tabernacolo della testimonianza, osservare tutto quel che concerne il culto del popolo,
8 and they will be in charge of al the furnishings of the Tent of Meeting and undertake the dutiesincumbent on the Israelites in serving the Dwel ing.	8 ed aver cura della suppellettile del tabernacolo, addetti al suo servizio.
9 You wil present the Levites to Aaron and his sons as men dedicated; they wil be given to him by theIsraelites.	9 Affiderai interamente i leviti
10 'You will register Aaron and his sons, who wil carry out their priestly duty. But any unauthorisedperson who comes near must be put to death.'	10 ad Aronne ed a' suoi figliuoli, a' quali son stati assegnati di tra i figli di Israele. Aronne poi ed i suoi figliuoli deputerai al culto sacerdotale. L'estraneo che s'accostasse a quel servizio, morrà».
11 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	11 Parlò il Signore a Mosè, e disse:
12 'Look, I myself have chosen the Levites from the Israelites instead of all the first-born, those whoemerge first from the womb in Israel; the Levites therefore belong to me.	12 «Io ho preso per me i leviti tra i figli d'Israele in cambio di tutt'i primogeniti usciti primi dal seno materno tra i figli d'Israele, ed i leviti saranno miei.
13 For every first-born belongs to me. On the day when I struck down al the first-born in Egypt, Iconsecrated al the first-born in Israel, human and animal, to be my own. They are mine, Yahweh's.'	13 Perchè mio è ogni primogenito, da quando percossi i primogeniti nell'Egitto: allora riserbai per me qualsiasi primo nato in Israele; dall'uomo all'animale son miei. Io il Signore».
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai and said:	14 Nel deserto di Sinai, il Signore parlò a Mosè, e gli disse:
15 'You must take a census of Levi's descendants by families and clans; al the males of the age of onemonth and over wil be counted.'	15 «Novera i figli di Levi, secondo le case dei loro padri, e le famiglie: tutt'i maschi da un mese in su».
16 At Yahweh's word Moses took a census of them, as Yahweh had ordered.	16 Mosè ne fece il computo, come gli aveva comandato il Signore,
17 These were the names of Levi's sons: Gershon, Kohath and Merari.	17 e trovò che i figli di Levi avevan per nome Gerson, Caat e Merari.
18 These were the names of Gershon's sons by their clans: Libni and Shimei;	18 Figli di Gerson: Lebni e Semei;
19 Kohath's sons by their clans: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel;	19 figli di Caat: Amram, Iesaar, Hebron ed Oziel;
20 Merari's sons by their clans: Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of Levi, grouped by families.	20 figli di Merari: Mooli e Musi.
21 From Gershon were descended the Libnite and Shimeite clans; these were the Gershonite clans.	21 Da Gerson vennero due discendenze, la lebnitica e la semeitica.
22 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to seven thousand five hundred.	22 In esse il numero de' maschi da un mese in su ammontava a settemila e cinquecento.
23 The Gershonite clans pitched their camp behind the Dwelling, on the west side.	23 Questi s'accamperanno dietro al tabernacolo, ad occidente,
24 The leader of the House of Gershon was Eliasaph son of Lael.	24 comandati da Eliasaf figlio di Lael;
25 As regards the Tent of Meeting, the Gershonites had charge of the Dwel ing, the Tent and itscovering, the screen for the entrance to the Tent of Meeting,	25 faranno la guardia al tabernacolo dell'alleanza, [ed avranno in custodia]
26 the curtaining of the court, the screen for the entrance to the court surrounding the Dwel ing and thealtar, and the cords required in dealing with al this.	26 lo stesso tabernacolo e la sua copertura, la tenda che si tira davanti alla porta del tabernacolo dell'alleanza, le cortine dell'atrio, la tenda che sta appesa all'ingresso dell'atrio del tabernacolo, tutto ciò che appartiene al servizio dell'altare, le corde [del cortinaggio] del tabernacolo, e tutto quello che vi si riconnette.
27 From Kohath were descended the Amramite, Izharite, Hebronite and Uzzielite clans; these were theKohathite clans.	27 La discendenza di Caat comprenderà le famiglie amramite, iesaarite, hebronite ed ozielite. Son queste le famiglie de' Caatiti, dei quali fu preso il numero e il nome.
28 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to eight thousand three hundred.They were in charge of the sanctuary.	28 Tutt'i loro maschi da un mese in su sono ottomila e seicento: faranno la guardia al santuario,
29 The Kohathite clans pitched their camp on the south side of the Dwel ing.	29 ed accamperanno dalla parte di mezzogiorno.
30 The leader of the house of the Kohathite clans was Elizaphan son of Uzziel.	30 Sarà loro capo Elisafan figlio d'Oziel.
31 They were in charge of the ark, the table, the lamp-stand, the altars, the sacred vessels used in theliturgy, and the curtain with al its fittings.	31 Avranno in custodia l'arca, la mensa, il candelabro, gli altari, gli arredi del santuario co' quali si fanno i sacrifizi, il velo, e tutta la relativa suppellettile.
32 The chief of the Levite leaders was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest. He supervised the peopleresponsible for the sanctuary.	32 Eleazaro poi, figlio di Aronne sacerdote, sarà principe de' principi de' leviti, e presiederà a tutti quelli che vegliano a guardia del santuario.
33 From Merari were descended the Mahlite and Mushite clans; these were the Merarite clans.	33 Discendenti poi da Merari son le famiglie moolite e musite, delle quali fu preso il numero ed i nomi;
34 Their ful number, counting the males of one month and over, came to six thousand two hundred.	34 tutt'i loro maschi da un mese in su sono seimila e duecento.
35 The leader of the House of the Merarite clans was Zuriel, son of Abihail. They pitched their camp onthe north side of the Dwel ing.	35 Loro capo, Suriel figlio di Abiaiel. Alloggeranno dalla parte di settentrione.
36 The Merarites were in charge of the framework of the Dwelling, with its crossbars, poles, sockets andal its accessories and fittings,	36 Saranno in loro custodia le assi del tabernacolo, le spranghe, le colonne con le loro basi, e tutto ciò che ad esse si riferisce;
37 and also the poles round the court, with their sockets, pegs and cords.	37 le colonne ancora che circondano l'atrio, con le loro basi, ed i piuoli con le funi.
38 Final y, on the east side, in front of the Dwel ing, in front of the Tent of Meeting, towards the east, wasthe camp of Moses and Aaron and his sons, who had charge of the sanctuary on behalf of the Israelites. Anyunauthorised person coming near was to be put to death.	38 Porranno poi le tende davanti al tabernacolo dell'alleanza, cioè dalla parte d'oriente, Mosè ed Aronne co' figli suoi messi a custodia del santuario tra' figli di Israele. Qualsiasi estraneo vi s'avvicinerà, morrà.
39 The total number of male Levites of the age of one month and over, whom Moses counted by clansas Yahweh had ordered, came to twenty-two thousand.	39 Tutt'i leviti dunque che Mosè ed Aronne numerarono, secondo il precetto del Signore, distinti per famiglie, maschi d'un mese ed oltre, furono ventiduemila.
40 Yahweh said to Moses: 'Take a census of al the first-born of the Israelites, al the males from the ageof one month and over; take a census of them by name.	40 Disse il Signore a Mosè: «Conta i primogeniti maschi de' figli d'Israele, d'un mese ed oltre, e fanne la somma.
41 You will then present the Levites to me, Yahweh, instead of Israel, and similarly the Levites' cattleinstead of the first-born cattle of the Israelites.'	41 Io prenderò da te i leviti in cambio di tutt'i primogeniti de' figli d'Israele. Io sono il Signore. Così anche prenderò gli animali loro, in cambio di tutt'i primogeniti degli animali de' figliuoli d'Israele».
42 As Yahweh ordered, Moses took a census of al the first-born of the Israelites.	42 Mosè dunque, come gli aveva comandato il Signore fece il censimento di tutt'i primogeniti de' figli d'Israele;
43 The total count, by name, of the first-born from the age of one month and over came to twenty-twothousand two hundred and seventy-three.	43 ed i maschi da un mese in su segnati col loro nome furono ventiduemila e duecentosettantatrè.
44 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said:	44 Parlò ancora il Signore a Mosè, e gli disse:
45 'Take the Levites instead of al the first-born of the Israelites, and the Levites' cattle instead of theircattle; the Levites will be mine, Yahweh's.	45 «Prendi i leviti in cambio de' primogeniti de' figli di Israele, e gli animali de' leviti in cambio dei loro animali: i leviti saranno miei. Io sono il Signore.
46 For the ransom of the two hundred and seventy-three first-born of the Israelites in excess of thenumber of Levites,	46 Quanto poi a que' duecentosettantatrè primogeniti de' figli d'Israele, che sono in più del numero de' leviti, per riscattarli
47 you wil take five shekels for each, by the sanctuary shekel, at twenty gerah to the shekel;	47 prenderai da loro in pagamento cinque sicli a testa, della misura del santuario». Il siclo è di venti oboli.
48 you wil then give this money to Aaron and his sons as the ransom for the extra number.'	48 «Darai ad Aronne ed a' figli suoi il danaro ricavato dal riscatto di questi che sono in più».
49 Moses took the ransom money for the extra ones unransomed by the Levites;	49 Prese dunque Mosè il prezzo di quelli de' primogeniti de' figli d'Israele che erano in più, riscattati dai leviti;
50 he took the money for the first-born of the Israelites: one thousand three hundred and sixty-fiveshekels, by the sanctuary shekel;	50 era di milletrecentosessantacinque sicli della misura del santuario,
51 and Moses then handed over their ransom money to Aaron and his sons, at Yahweh's bidding, asYahweh had ordered Moses.	51 e lo dette ad Aronne ed a' suoi figli, secondo quel che gli aveva comandato il Signore.
