1 Miriam, and Aaron too, criticised Moses over the Cushite woman he had married. He had indeedmarried a Cushite woman.	1 OR Maria ed Aaronne parlarono contro a Mosè, per cagion della moglie Cusita ch’egli avea presa; perciocchè egli avea presa una moglie Cusita.
2 They said, 'Is Moses the only one through whom Yahweh has spoken? Has he not spoken through ustoo?' Yahweh heard this.	2 E dissero: Ha veramente il Signore parlato sol per Mosè? non ha egli eziandio parlato per noi? E il Signore udì queste parole.
3 Now Moses was extremely humble, the humblest man on earth.	3 Or quell’uomo Mosè era molto mansueto, più che altro uomo che fosse in su la terra
4 Suddenly Yahweh said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, 'Come out, al three of you, to the Tent ofMeeting.' They went, al three of them,	4 E il Signore disse in quello stante a Mosè, e ad Aaronne, e a Maria: Uscite tutti e tre, e venite al Tabernacolo della convenenza. Ed essi uscirono tutti e tre.
5 and Yahweh descended in a pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tent. He cal ed Aaronand Miriam and they both came forward.	5 E il Signore scese nella colonna della nuvola, e si fermò all’entrata del Tabernacolo; e chiamò Aaronne e Maria. E amendue andarono là.
6 Yahweh said: Listen to my words! if there is a prophet among you, I reveal myself to him in a vision, I speak to him in a dream.	6 E il Signore disse: Ascoltate ora le mie parole: Se v’è fra voi alcun profeta, io, il Signore, mi do a conoscere a lui in visione, o parlo a lui in sogno.
7 Not so with my servant Moses; to him my whole household is entrusted;	7 Ma non fo così inverso il mio servitore Mosè, il quale è fedele in tutta la mia casa.
8 to him I speak face to face, plainly and not in riddles, and he sees Yahweh's form. How, then, couldyou dare to criticise my servant Moses?	8 Io parlo a bocca a bocca con lui, e a veduta, e non con maniere oscure; ed egli vede la sembianza del Signore; perchè dunque non avete voi temuto di parlar contro al mio servitore, contro a Mosè?
9 Yahweh's anger was aroused by them. He went away,	9 E l’ira del Signore si accese contro a loro, ed egli se ne andò
10 and as soon as the cloud left the Tent, there was Miriam covered with a virulent skin-disease, whiteas snow! Aaron turned to look at her and saw that she had contracted a virulent skin-disease.	10 E la nuvola si partì d’in sul Tabernacolo; ed ecco, Maria era lebbrosa, bianca come neve; e Aaronne riguardò Maria; ed ecco, era lebbrosa.
11 Aaron said to Moses: 'Oh, my Lord, please do not punish us for the sin we have been foolishenough to commit.	11 E Aaronne disse a Mosè: Ahi! Signore mio; deh! non metterci peccato addosso; conciossiachè noi abbiamo follemente fatto, e abbiamo peccato.
12 Do not let her be like some monster with its flesh half eaten away when it leaves its mother's womb!'	12 Deh! non sia ella come un parto morto, la cui carne, quando egli esce del seno di sua madre, è già mezza consumata.
13 Moses pleaded with Yahweh. 'O God,' he said, 'I beg you, please heal her!'	13 E Mosè gridò al Signore, dicendo: Deh! sanala ora, o Dio.
14 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'If her father had done no more than spit in her face, would she not beunclean for seven days? Have her shut out of the camp for seven days, and then have her brought in again.'	14 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Se suo padre le avesse sputato nel viso, non sarebb’ella tutta vergognosa per sette giorni? Sia rinchiusa fuor del campo sette giorni; poi sia raccolta.
15 Miriam was shut out of the camp for seven days. The people did not set out until she returned.	15 Maria adunque fu rinchiusa fuor del campo sette giorni; e il popolo non si mosse, finchè Maria non fu raccolta.
16 Then the people moved on from Hazeroth and pitched camp in the desert of Paran.	16 POI il popolo si partì di Haserot, e si accampò nel deserto di Paran
