Amos 8

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 This is what Lord Yahweh showed me: A basket of ripe fruit.	1 A következő dolgot mutatta nekem az Úr Isten: Íme, egy érett gyümölccsel telt kosár.
2 'What do you see, Amos?' he asked. 'A basket of ripe fruit,' I said. Then Yahweh said, 'The time is ripefor my people Israel; I wil not continue to overlook their offences.	2 És mondta: »Mit látsz, Ámosz?« és mondtam: »Érett gyümölccsel telt kosarat.« És mondta nekem az Úr: »Eljött a vég népemre, Izraelre; nem leszek többé elnéző vele szemben!
3 That day, the palace songs will turn to howls, -declares the Lord Yahweh- the corpses wil be manythat are thrown down everywhere. Keep silent!'	3 Ama napon jajveszékelnek majd a palota énekesei – mondja az Úr Isten –, sok holttest lesz szerteszórva mindenütt: csönd.
4 Listen to this, you who crush the needy and reduce the oppressed to nothing,	4 Halljátok meg ezt ti, akik tiporjátok a szegényt, és szorongatjátok a föld szűkölködőit,
5 you who say, 'When wil New Moon be over so that we can sel our corn, and Sabbath, so that we canmarket our wheat? Then, we can make the bushel-measure smaller and the shekel-weight bigger, byfraudulently tampering with the scales.	5 akik így szóltok: ‘Mikor múlik el az újhold, hogy eladhassuk az árut, és a szombat, hogy feltárhassuk a gabonát, megkisebbíthessük az éfát, megnagyobbíthassuk a siklust, és csalárdul meghamisíthassuk a mérleget,

8 Wil not the earth tremble for this and al who live on it lament, as it al rises together like the Nile inEgypt, it swel s and then subsides like the Egyptian Nile?	8 Nem kell-e emiatt megrendülnie a földnek, és gyászolnia minden lakójának? Emelkedik, mint hatalmas folyam, árad és apad, mint Egyiptom folyója.
9 'On that Day- declares the Lord Yahweh- I shal make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth inbroad daylight.	9 És azon a napon – mondja az Úr Isten –, délben nyugszik majd le a nap, és fényes nappal sötétséget borítok a földre.
10 I shall turn your festivals into mourning and all your singing into lamentation; I shall make you all wearsacking round your waists and have al your heads shaved. I shal make it like the mourning for an only child,and it wil end like the bitterest of days.	10 Gyászra fordítom ünnepeiteket, és siralomra minden dalotokat; szőrruhát hozok mindnyájatok derekára, és kopaszságot mindnyájatok fejére; olyanná teszem az országot, mintha az egyszülöttet gyászolná, végnapjuk a keservek napja lesz.
11 'The days are coming- declares the Lord Yahweh- when I shal send a famine on the country, nothunger for food, not thirst for water, but famine for hearing Yahweh's word.	11 Íme, jönnek napok – mondja az Úr –, és éhséget bocsátok a földre, éhséget, de nem kenyérre, szomjúságot, de nem vízre, hanem az Úr igéjének hallására.«
12 People wil stagger from sea to sea, will wander from the north to the east, searching for Yahweh'sword, but wil not find it.	12 És felkerekednek tengertől tengerig, északtól keletig körüljárnak majd, és keresik az Úr igéjét, de nem találják meg.
13 'That Day, fine girls and stalwart youths will faint from thirst.	13 Azon a napon elepednek majd a szépséges szüzek és az ifjak a szomjúságtól,
14 The people who swear by the Sin of Samaria, who say, "Long live your god, Dan!" and "Hurrah for thepilgrimage to Beersheba!" will all fal , never to rise again.'	14 akik Szamaria vétkére esküsznek, és azt mondják: »A te Istened életére, Dán!« és: »A te utad életére, Beerseba!« és elesnek, és nem kelnek fel többé!
