Ezekiel 37

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 The hand of Yahweh was on me; he carried me away by the spirit of Yahweh and set me down in themiddle of the val ey, a valley ful of bones.	1 La main de Yahvé fut sur moi, il m'emmena par l'esprit de Yahvé, et il me déposa au milieu de lavallée, une vallée pleine d'ossements.
2 He made me walk up and down and all around among them. There were vast quantities of thesebones on the floor of the val ey; and they were completely dry.	2 Il me la fit parcourir, parmi eux, en tous sens. Or les ossements étaient très nombreux sur le sol dela vallée, et ils étaient complètement desséchés.
3 He said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' I said, 'You know, Lord Yahweh.'	3 Il me dit: "Fils d'homme, ces ossements vivront-ils?" Je dis: "Seigneur Yahvé, c'est toi qui lesais."
4 He said, 'Prophesy over these bones. Say, "Dry bones, hear the word of Yahweh.	4 Il me dit: "Prophétise sur ces ossements. Tu leur diras: Ossements desséchés, écoutez la parole deYahvé.
5 The Lord Yahweh says this to these bones: I am now going to make breath enter you, and you willlive.	5 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé à ces ossements. Voici que je vais faire entrer en vous l'esprit etvous vivrez.
6 I shal put sinews on you, I shal make flesh grow on you, I shal cover you with skin and give youbreath, and you wil live; and you wil know that I am Yahweh." '	6 Je mettrai sur vous des nerfs, je ferai pousser sur vous de la chair, je tendrai sur vous de la peau,je vous donnerai un esprit et vous vivrez, et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé."
7 I prophesied as I had been ordered. While I was prophesying, there was a noise, a clattering sound; itwas the bones coming together.	7 Je prophétisai, comme j'en avais reçu l'ordre. Or il se fit un bruit au moment où je prophétisais; ily eut un frémissement et les os se rapprochèrent les uns des autres.
8 And as I looked, they were covered with sinews; flesh was growing on them and skin was coveringthem, yet there was no breath in them.	8 Je regardai: ils étaient recouverts de nerfs, la chair avait poussé et la peau s'était tendue par-dessus, mais il n'y avait pas d'esprit en eux.
9 He said to me, 'Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man. Say to the breath, "The Lord Yahwehsays this: Come from the four winds, breath; breathe on these dead, so that they come to life!" '	9 Il me dit: "Prophétise à l'esprit, prophétise, fils d'homme. Tu diras à l'esprit: ainsi parle leSeigneur Yahvé. Viens des quatre vents, esprit, souffle sur ces morts, et qu'ils vivent."
10 I prophesied as he had ordered me, and the breath entered them; they came to life and stood up ontheir feet, a great, an immense army.	10 Je prophétisai comme il m'en avait donné l'ordre, et l'esprit vint en eux, ils reprirent vie et semirent debout sur leurs pieds: grande, immense armée.
11 Then he said, 'Son of man, these bones are the whole House of Israel. They keep saying, "Ourbones are dry, our hope has gone; we are done for."	11 Alors il me dit: Fils d'homme, ces ossements, c'est toute la maison d'Israël. Les voilà qui disent:"Nos os sont desséchés, notre espérance est détruite, c'en est fait de nous."
12 So, prophesy. Say to them, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am now going to open your graves; I shallraise you from your graves, my people, and lead you back to the soil of Israel.	12 C'est pourquoi, prophétise. Tu leur diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Voici que j'ouvre vostombeaux; je vais vous faire remonter de vos tombeaux, mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai sur le sol d'Israël.
13 And you wil know that I am Yahweh, when I open your graves and raise you from your graves, mypeople,	13 Vous saurez que je suis Yahvé, lorsque j'ouvrirai vos tombeaux et que je vous ferai remonter devos tombeaux, mon peuple.
14 and put my spirit in you, and you revive, and I resettle you on your own soil. Then you will know thatI, Yahweh, have spoken and done this -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	14 Je mettrai mon esprit en vous et vous vivrez, et je vous installerai sur votre sol, et vous saurezque moi, Yahvé, j'ai parlé et je fais, oracle de Yahvé.
15 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	15 La parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
16 'Son of man, take a stick and write on it, "Judah and those Israelites loyal to him." Take another stick and write on it, "Joseph (Ephraim's wood) and all the House of Israel loyal to him."	16 Et toi, fils d'homme, prends un morceau de bois et écris dessus: "Juda et les Israélites qui sontavec lui." Prends un morceau de bois et écris dessus: "Joseph (bois d'Ephraïm) et toute la maison d'Israël qui estavec lui."
17 'Join one to the other to make a single piece of wood, a single stick in your hand.	17 Rapproche-les l'un de l'autre pour faire un seul morceau de bois; qu'ils ne fassent qu'un dans tamain.
18 And when the members of your nation say, "Wil you not tel us what you mean?"	18 Et lorsque les fils de ton peuple te diront: "Ne nous expliqueras-tu pas ce que tu veux dire?"
19 say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I am taking the stick of Joseph (now in Ephraim's hand) and thosetribes of Israel loyal to him and shal join them to the stick of Judah. I shal make one stick out of the two, a singlestick in my hand."	19 Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: Voici que je vais prendre le bois de Joseph (qui est dansla main d'Ephraïm) et les tribus d'Israël qui sont avec lui, je vais les mettre contre le bois de Juda, j'en ferai unseul morceau de bois et ils ne seront qu'un dans ma main.
20 'When the pieces of wood you have written on are in your hand in ful sight of them,	20 Quand les morceaux de bois sur lesquels tu auras écrit seront dans ta main, à leurs yeux,
21 say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall take the Israelites from the nations where they have gone. Ishall gather them to- gether from everywhere and bring them home to their own soil.	21 dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Voici que je vais prendre les Israélites parmi les nationsoù ils sont allés. Je vais les rassembler de tous côtés et les ramener sur leur sol.
22 I shal make them into one nation in the country, on the mountains of Israel, and one king is to beking of them al ; they will no longer form two nations, nor be two separate kingdoms.	22 J'en ferai une seule nation dans le pays, dans les montagnes d'Israël, et un seul roi sera leur roi àeux tous; ils ne formeront plus deux nations, ils ne seront plus divisés en deux royaumes.
23 They will no longer defile themselves with their foul idols, their horrors and any of their crimes. I shallsave them from the acts of infidelity which they have committed and shal cleanse them; they will be my peopleand I shall be their God.	23 Ils ne se souilleront plus avec leurs ordures, leurs horreurs et tous leurs crimes. Je les sauveraides infidélités qu'ils ont commises et je les purifierai, ils seront mon peuple et je serai leur Dieu.
24 My servant David will reign over them, one shepherd for al ; they wil fol ow my judgements, respectmy laws and practise them.	24 Mon serviteur David régnera sur eux; il n'y aura qu'un seul pasteur pour eux tous; ils obéiront àmes coutumes, ils observeront mes lois et les mettront en pratique.
25 They will live in the country which I gave to my servant Jacob, the country in which your ancestorslived. They wil live in it, they, their children, their children's children, for ever. David my servant is to be theirprince for ever.	25 Ils habiteront le pays que j'ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob, celui qu'ont habité vos pères. Ilsl'habiteront, eux, leurs enfants et les enfants de leurs enfants, à jamais. David mon serviteur sera leur prince àjamais.
26 I shal make a covenant of peace with them, an eternal covenant with them. I shal resettle them andmake them grow; I shall set my sanctuary among them for ever.	26 Je conclurai avec eux une alliance de paix, ce sera avec eux une alliance éternelle. Je lesétablirai, je les multiplierai et j'établirai mon sanctuaire au milieu d'eux à jamais.
27 I shal make my home above them; I shall be their God, and they wil be my people.	27 Je ferai ma demeure au-dessus d'eux, je serai leur Dieu et ils seront mon peuple.
28 And the nations wil know that I am Yahweh the sanctifier of Israel, when my sanctuary is with themfor ever." '	28 Et les nations sauront que je suis Yahvé qui sanctifie Israël, lorsque mon sanctuaire sera aumilieu d'eux à jamais.
