Ezekiel 35

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:
2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.	2 filho do homem, volta-te para o lado da montanha de Seir, e profetiza contra ela;
3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;	3 Dize-lhe: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: é contra ti que venho, monte de Seir; eu vou levantar a mão contra ti. Farei de ti um deserto e uma solidão;
4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	4 reduzirei as tuas cidades a ruínas, a fim de que saibas que sou eu o Senhor.
5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,	5 Já que tens nutrido ódio eterno pelos israelitas, e os entregaste ao fio da espada no dia de sua aflição, e ao termo da sua iniqüidade,
6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.	6 pois bem: por minha vida - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, eu te entregarei ao sangue, e o sangue há de perseguir-te; porquanto não te horrorizes em derramar sangue, o sangue há de perseguir-te.
7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.	7 Farei da montanha de Seir um deserto e uma solidão, e suprimirei da terra todos os transeuntes.
8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .	8 Cobrirei tuas montanhas de cadáveres: sobre teus outeiros, teus vales e tuas torrentes tombarão aqueles a quem corta o gládio.
9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.	9 Reduzir-te-ei a solidões eternas; tuas cidades serão despovoadas. Assim saberás tu que eu é que sou o Senhor.
10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,	10 Já que disseste: as duas nações, os dois países serão meus, e tomarei posse deles, ainda que o Senhor aí resida,
11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,	11 pois bem: por minha vida - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, eu te tratarei com a mesma furiosa cólera com que os trataste, e far-me-ei conhecer no modo por que hei de exercer o meu julgamento contra ti.
12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.	12 Saberás que eu, o Senhor, ouvi todas as blasfêmias que proferiste contra as montanhas de Israel, quando dizias: ei-las devastadas! Elas nos são dadas como pasto.
13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!	13 Haveis-me afrontado com uma multidão de palavras insolentes contra mim. Eu as ouvi.
14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.	14 Eis o que diz o Senhor Javé:
15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "	15 enquanto toda a terra estiver em alegria, farei de ti uma solidão. Porque te tens alegrado com a devastação da herança da casa de Israel, eu te tratarei do mesmo modo: serás devastada, montanha de Seir, assim como toda a Iduméia. Assim reconhecerás que sou eu o Senhor.
