Ezekiel 35

1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 E IL Signore parlommi, dicendo:
2 'Son of man, turn towards Mount Seir and prophesy against it.	2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia verso il monte di Seir, e profeterai intorno ad esso, e gli dirai:
3 Say to it, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Mount Seir; I shall stretch out my handagainst you; I shal make you a desolate waste;	3 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o monte di Seir, ed io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te, e ti renderò desolato, e deserto.
4 I shal lay your towns in ruins. You wil become a waste and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	4 Io demolirò le tue città, e tu sarai disabitato, e conoscerai, ch'io sono il Signore.
5 Since, fol owing a long-standing hatred, you betrayed the Israelites to the sword on the day of theirdistress, on the day when an end came for their guilt,	5 Perchè tu se' stato nemico eterno, e colla spada alla mano chiudesti a' figliuoli di Israele lo scampo nel tempo della loro afflizione, e nel tempo di estrema calamità;
6 very wel , as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I destine you to bloodshed, and bloodshed wilpursue you. I swear it; you have incurred guilt by shedding blood, and bloodshed will pursue you.	6 Per questo io giuro (dice il Signore Dio), che io ti abbandonerò al sangue, e il sangue ti perseguiterà, e, avendo tu odiato il sangue, il sangue ti perseguiterà,
7 I shal make Mount Seir a desolate waste and denude it of anyone travel ing to and fro.	7 E renderò desolato, e deserto il monte di Seir, e farò, che non vi sia più chi vada, e chi venga.
8 I shal fil its mountains with its slaughtered; on your hills, in your val eys and in all your ravines, thoseslaughtered by the sword will fal .	8 E i monti di lei empierò de' suoi uccisi: su' tuoi colli, e pelle tue valli, e pe' torrenti caderanno uccisi di spada.
9 I shal make you a perpetual waste, your towns wil never be inhabited again, and you wil know that Iam Yahweh.	9 Ti ridurrò in solitudini eterne, e le tue città non saranno abitate; e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore Dio:
10 "Since you said: The two nations and the two countries wil be mine; we are going to take possessionof it, although Yahweh was there,	10 Perchè tu dicesti: Due genti, e due regioni saranno mie, ed io le possederò in retaggio, quando ivi si stava il Signore;
11 very well, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I shal act with the same anger and jealousy as youacted in your hatred for them. I shall make myself known for their sake, when I punish you,	11 Per questo io giuro, dice il Signore Dio, io ti tratterò come merita la tua ira, e la tua invidia, e l'odio contro di essi; ed io sarò conosciuto per mezzo di essi, quando avrò fatto giudizio di te.
12 and you wil know that I, Yahweh, have heard al the blasphemies which you have uttered against themountains of Israel, such as: They have been laid waste, they have been given to us for us to devour.	12 E conoscerai, che io il Signore ho uditi tutti gli obbrobri, che tu hai detti contro i monti d'Israele, dicendo: Sono in abbandono, sono dati a noi, perchè li divoriamo.
13 Great was your insolence towards me, many your speeches against me; I have heard!	13 E vi siete alzati contro di me colla vostra lingua, e gettaste contro di me le vostre parole: io le udii.
14 Lord Yahweh says this: To the joy of the whole world, I shal make you a waste.	14 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Con giubilo di tutta la terra io ti ridurrò in solitudine.
15 Since you rejoiced because the heritage of the House of Israel had been laid waste, I shal do thesame to you, Mount Seir; and you wil become a waste, and so wil the whole of Edom; and they will know that Iam Yahweh.' "	15 Siccome tu facesti festa sopra l'eredità della casa d'Israele, perchè era dissipata, cosi io farò a te: tu, o monte di Seir, sarai devastato, e tu, Idumea, tutta quanta: e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore.
