1 In the tenth year, on the twelfth day of the tenth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 L'anno decimo, il decimo mese, agli undici del mese, il Signore parlommi, dicendo:
2 'Son of man, turn towards Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against the whole ofEgypt.	2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia contro Faraone re dell'Egitto, e profeterai sopra di lui, e sopra tutto l'Egitto:
3 Speak and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt- the greatcrocodile wal owing in his Niles who thought: My Nile is mine, I made it.	3 Tu parlerai, e dirai: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, o Faraone re dell'Egitto, gran dragone, che giaci in mezzo a' tuoi fiumi, e dici: mio è il fiume, ed io da me mi son fatto.
4 I shal put hooks through your jaws, make your Nile fish stick to your scales, and pul you out of yourNiles with al your Nile fish sticking to your scales.	4 Ma io porrò un freno alle tue mascelle, e i pesci de' tuoi fiumi farò, che stiano attaccati alle tue squamme, e ti trarrò di mezzo a' tuoi fiumi, e tutti tuoi pesci staranno attaccati alle tue squamme.
5 I shal drop you in the desert, with al your Nile fish. You will fal in the wilds and not be taken up orburied. I shall give you as food to the wild animals and the birds of heaven,	5 E te, e tutti i pesci de' tuoi fiumi io getterò nel deserto: tu cadrai per terra, e non sarai raccolto, né sepolto: io ti ho dato alle bestie della terra, e agli uccelli dell'aria, che di te faran pasto:
6 and all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, for they have given no more support thana reed to the House of Israel.	6 E gli abitatori tutti dell'Egitto conosceranno, chi io sono il Signore, perchè tu se' stato un sostegno di canna per la casa d'Israele.
7 Wherever they grasped you, you broke in their hands and cut their hands al over. Whenever theyleaned on you, you broke, making al their limbs give way.	7 Quando ti preser in mano, tu ti rompesti, e lacerasti tutto il lor braccio, e quando vollero appoggiarsi sopra di te, e tu te n'andasti in pezzi, e facesti lor rompere i reni.
8 "So, the Lord Yahweh says this: I shal send the sword against you to denude you of human andanimal.	8 Per questo cosi dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, che io farò piombare la spada sopra di te: ucciderò i tuoi uomini, e i tuoi giumenti.
9 Egypt wil become a desolate waste, and they wil know that I am Yahweh. Because he thought: TheNile is mine, I made it,	9 E la terra d'Egitto diverrà un deserto, ed una solitudine: e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore, perchè tu hai detto: mio è il fiume, ed io lo ho fatto:
10 very well, I am against you and your Niles. I shal make Egypt a waste and a desolation, from Migdolto Syene and beyond to the frontiers of Ethiopia.	10 Per questo eccomi a te, ed a tuoi fiumi: e farò, che la terra d'Egitto divenga una solitudine desolata dalla spada, dalla torre di Siene sino a' confini dell'Etiopia.
11 No human foot wil pass through it, no animal foot will pass through it. For forty years it wil remainuninhabited.	11 Ella non sarà battuta da piede umano, né pesta da pie di giumento, e sarà disabitata per quarant'anni.
12 I shal make Egypt the most desolate of countries; for forty years its cities wil be the most desolate ofwasted cities. And I shall scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the countries.	12 E la terra d'Egitto renderò deserta in mezzo a' paesi deserti, e le città di lei simili alle città distrutte, e saran desolate per quarant' anni, e spergerò gli Egiziani tralle nazioni, e li trasporterò in varj paesi ad ogni vento.
13 The Lord Yahweh, however, says this: After forty years have passed, I shal gather the Egyptiansback from the nations where they were dispersed.	13 Perocché queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Dopo che saranno passati i quarant' anni, radunerò gli Egiziani di mezzo a' popoli, tra' quali furon dispersi,
14 I shal bring the Egyptian captives back and re-instal them in the land of Pathros, in the country oftheir origin. There they wil constitute a modest kingdom.	14 E rimenerò gli schiavi Egiziani, e li collocherò nella terra di Phatures, nella terra dove erano nati, e vi formeranno un povero regno:
15 Egypt wil be the most modest of kingdoms and no longer dominate other nations; for I shal reduce it,so that it will not rule other nations ever again.	15 Ei sarà tra gli altri regni il più piccolo, né più s'innalzerà sopra le nazioni, e li terrò bassi, perchè non signoreggin le genti.
16 It wil no longer be anything for the House of Israel to trust in, but wil be a reminder of the guilt whichlay in turning to it for help. And they will know that I am Lord Yahweh." '	16 E non saran più la fidanza della casa d'Israele, cui insegnavan l'iniquità, perchè a loro ricorresse, e gli seguitasse; e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore Dio.
17 In the twenty-seventh year, on the first day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed tome as fol ows:	17 E l'anno ventesimo settimo, il primo mese, il primo del mese, il Signore parlommi, dicendo:
18 'Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken his army in a great expedition against Tyre.Their heads have al gone bald, their shoulders are al chafed, but even so he has derived no profit, either forhimself or for his army, from the expedition mounted against Tyre.	18 Figliuolo dell'uomo, il re di Babilonia Nabuchodonosor ha fatto servire la sua armata in penosa servitù contro di Tiro: tutte le teste son divenute calve, e tutti gli omeri sono scorticati; e non è stata data a lui, né al suo esercito ricompensa per la servitù, ch'ei mi ha prestata contro di Tiro,
19 Since this is so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I shall hand Egypt over to Nebuchadnezzar kingof Babylon. He wil carry off its riches, loot it, put it to the sack; that wil be the wages for his army.	19 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, che io metterò Nabuchodonosor re di Babilonia nella terra d'Egitto, e ne farà prigioniero il popolo, e lo saccheggerà, e ne dividerà le spoglie, e sarà ricompensato il suo esercito,
20 As wages for the trouble he has taken, I am giving him Egypt instead (for they have been working forme)-declares the Lord Yahweh.	20 Pel servigio renduto contro Tiro io gli ho data la terra d'Egitto, perchè egli ha faticato per me, dice il Signore Dio.
21 "That day, I shall raise up a new stock for the House of Israel and al ow you to open your mouthamong them. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '	21 In quel giorno rifiorirà la possanza della casa d'Israele, ed a te aprirò io la bocca in mezzo ad essi, e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore.
