NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In the tenth year, on the twelfth day of the tenth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 En la dixième année, le 12 du dixième mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 'Son of man, turn towards Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against the whole ofEgypt.	2 “Fils d’homme, parle pour Pharaon, le roi d’Égypte, et prophétise contre lui et contre toute l’Égypte.
3 Speak and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt- the greatcrocodile wal owing in his Niles who thought: My Nile is mine, I made it.	3 Tu lui diras de la part de Yahvé: Je viens m’en prendre à toi, Pharaon, ( ) grand Dragon! Tu te prélasses entre tes canaux et tu dis: “Mes canaux sont à moi, c’est moi qui les ai creusés!”
4 I shal put hooks through your jaws, make your Nile fish stick to your scales, and pul you out of yourNiles with al your Nile fish sticking to your scales.	4 Mais je vais te planter des crocs dans la mâchoire et je te tirerai de tes canaux, toi et tous les poissons de tes canaux.
5 I shal drop you in the desert, with al your Nile fish. You will fal in the wilds and not be taken up orburied. I shall give you as food to the wild animals and the birds of heaven,	5 Je te jetterai sur la terre sèche, avec les poissons des canaux; tu resteras à plat sur la face du sol et tu ne seras ni relevé, ni ramassé. Je te donnerai en pâture aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux du ciel.
6 and all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, for they have given no more support thana reed to the House of Israel.	6 Alors les habitants de l’Égypte sauront que je suis Yahvé. Tu n’as été qu’un roseau lorsque Israël cherchait un appui;
7 Wherever they grasped you, you broke in their hands and cut their hands al over. Whenever theyleaned on you, you broke, making al their limbs give way.	7 lorsque mon peuple s’est accroché à toi, tu t’es brisé dans leur main et les as déchirés jusqu’à l’épaule; quand ils se sont appuyés sur toi, tu as cédé et leur as fait perdre l’équilibre.
8 "So, the Lord Yahweh says this: I shal send the sword against you to denude you of human andanimal.	8 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je fais venir contre toi l’épée et je supprimerai chez toi hommes et bêtes.
9 Egypt wil become a desolate waste, and they wil know that I am Yahweh. Because he thought: TheNile is mine, I made it,	9 Le pays d’Égypte deviendra un désert, une ruine, et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé. Tu dis: “Le Nil est à moi, c’est moi qui l’ai fait.”
10 very well, I am against you and your Niles. I shal make Egypt a waste and a desolation, from Migdolto Syene and beyond to the frontiers of Ethiopia.	10 C’est pourquoi je t’en veux, à toi et à tes canaux; je ferai de l’Égypte un désert, une ruine, depuis Migdol jusqu’à Syène et la frontière d’Éthiopie.
11 No human foot wil pass through it, no animal foot will pass through it. For forty years it wil remainuninhabited.	11 Hommes et bêtes n’y passeront plus, elle sera inhabitée durant quarante ans.
12 I shal make Egypt the most desolate of countries; for forty years its cities wil be the most desolate ofwasted cities. And I shall scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them among the countries.	12 Oui, je ferai de l’Égypte le plus dévasté des pays: ses villes seront pour quarante ans les plus saccagées des villes. Je disperserai les Égyptiens au milieu des nations, je les disséminerai dans tous les pays.
13 The Lord Yahweh, however, says this: After forty years have passed, I shal gather the Egyptiansback from the nations where they were dispersed.	13 Mais voici ce que dit Yahvé: Après quarante ans je rassemblerai les Égyptiens du milieu des peuples où ils avaient été dispersés.
14 I shal bring the Egyptian captives back and re-instal them in the land of Pathros, in the country oftheir origin. There they wil constitute a modest kingdom.	14 Je changerai leur sort et je les ramènerai au pays de Patros, leur pays d’origine; là ils formeront un royaume, le plus modeste
15 Egypt wil be the most modest of kingdoms and no longer dominate other nations; for I shal reduce it,so that it will not rule other nations ever again.	15 de tous ( ): il ne dominera plus les autres nations; je vais l’abaisser pour qu’il ne se dresse plus au-dessus des nations.
16 It wil no longer be anything for the House of Israel to trust in, but wil be a reminder of the guilt whichlay in turning to it for help. And they will know that I am Lord Yahweh." '	16 Les gens d’Israël ne mettront plus en lui leur confiance, mais ils se rappelleront la faute qu’ils commettaient en se tournant vers l’Égypte; alors on saura que je suis Yahvé.
17 In the twenty-seventh year, on the first day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed tome as fol ows:	17 En la vingt-septième année, le premier jour du premier mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
18 'Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken his army in a great expedition against Tyre.Their heads have al gone bald, their shoulders are al chafed, but even so he has derived no profit, either forhimself or for his army, from the expedition mounted against Tyre.	18 Fils d’homme, le siège de Tyr a été une entreprise difficile pour Nabukodonozor roi de Babylone et pour son armée; ses hommes y ont perdu leurs cheveux et sont revenus les épaules écorchées, mais ce siège de Tyr n’a rapporté aucun profit, ni pour lui, ni pour son armée.
19 Since this is so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I shall hand Egypt over to Nebuchadnezzar kingof Babylon. He wil carry off its riches, loot it, put it to the sack; that wil be the wages for his army.	19 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je vais livrer l’Égypte aux mains de Nabukodonozor, roi de Babylone: il emportera ses richesses, ramassera ses dépouilles et la mettra au pillage: ce sera le salaire de son armée.
20 As wages for the trouble he has taken, I am giving him Egypt instead (for they have been working forme)-declares the Lord Yahweh.	20 Je lui donne l’Égypte pour la peine qu’il s’est donnée au siège de Tyr, car il a travaillé pour moi, parole de Yahvé.
21 "That day, I shall raise up a new stock for the House of Israel and al ow you to open your mouthamong them. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '	21 En ce jour-là la maison d’Israël retrouvera sa force, et à toi, je te donnerai d’ouvrir la bouche au milieu d’eux. Alors on saura que je suis Yahvé.
