NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 'Now, raise a lament for the princes of Israel.	1 - E tu intona una lamentazione sui principi d'Israele, e dirai:
2 Say: What was your mother? A lioness among lions; lying among the cubs she nursed her whelps.	2 - Perchè tua madre come leonessasi accovacciò tra i leoni, in mezzo ai lioncelliallevò i suoi parti?
3 She reared one of her whelps: he grew into a young lion; he learnt to tear his prey; he became a man-eater.	3 Trasse fuori uno dei suoi lioncellie diventò leone e imparò a predare e a divorare gli uomini.
4 The nations came to hear of him; he was caught in their pit; they dragged him away with hooks toEgypt.	4 E le genti udirono parlare di lui, e non senza riportarne ferite lo catturarono, e stretto in catene, lo trascinarono sul suolo d'Egitto.
5 Her expectation thwarted, and seeing her hope dashed, she took another of her whelps and made ayoung lion of him.	5 Vedendosi allora senza sostegnoe che la sua speranza era perduta, prese un altro dei suoi lioncellie lo pose a far da leone.
6 He prowled among the lions, he grew into a young lion, he learnt to tear his prey; he became a man-eater.	6 Egli incedeva tra i leonie diventò leone e imparò a predare e a divorare gli uomini.

9 They shackled him with hooks, they took him to the king of Babylon and threw him into a fortress, sothat his voice could never again be heard on the mountains of Israel.	9 E lo chiusero in una gabbiae incatenato lo condussero al re di Babiloniae lo misero in carcere, affinchè la sua voce più non risonassesopra i monti d'Israele.
10 Your mother was like a vine planted beside the water, fruitful and leafy, because the water flowed soful .	10 Tua madre era come una vigna piena di linfaera stata piantata sul margine dell'acqua: i suoi frutti e le sue fronde erano cresciutiper l'abbondanza di acque.
11 She had stout stems which became kingly sceptres; she grew higher and higher, up into the clouds;she was admired for her height and the number of her branches.	11 E i virgulti le si fecero solidida poter essere scettri di dominatorie il suo fusto si elevò d'in tra le fronde e vide la sua elevatezzanella gran copia che aveva di pampini.
12 But she was furiously uprooted and thrown on the ground; the east wind dried up her fruit, she wasbroken to pieces; her stout stem dried up, the fire devoured it.	12 Ma poi fu svelta furiosamente e sbattuta al suolo, e il vento infocato seccò il suo prodotto, avvizzirono e si seccarono i suoi rampolli rigogliosi, il fuoco li consumò.
13 Now she has been transplanted to the desert, to a dry and thirsty land.	13 E ora fu trapiantata in un desertoin un terreno incolto e riarso.
14 Fire burst out of her stem devouring her branches and fruit. No more stout stem for her, no morekingly sceptre.' This is a lament; it was used as such.	14 Un fuoco è uscito da un virgulto de' suoi ramie le consumò il prodotto, e in essa più non rimase ramo forteda scettro di dominatori. Questa è una lamentazione e servirà da lamentazione -».
