Jeremiah 37

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Zedekiah son of Josiah became king, succeeding Coniah son of Jehoiakim. Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon had made him king of Judah.	1 وملك الملك صدقيا بن يوشيا مكان كنياهو بن يهوياقيم الذي ملكه نبوخذراصر ملك بابل في ارض يهوذا.
2 But neither he nor his courtiers nor the people of the country paid any attention to the words Yahwehspoke through the prophet Jeremiah.	2 ولم يسمع هو ولا عبيده ولا شعب الارض لكلام الرب الذي تكلم به عن يد ارميا النبي.
3 King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah to the prophetJeremiah with this message, 'Intercede for us with Yahweh our God.'	3 وارسل الملك صدقيا يهوخل بن شلميا وصفنيا بن معسيا الكاهن الى ارميا النبي قائلا صلّ لاجلنا الى الرب الهنا.
4 Now Jeremiah was still moving freely among the people: he had not yet been put in prison.	4 وكان ارميا يدخل ويخرج في وسط الشعب اذ لم يكونوا قد جعلوه في بيت السجن.
5 Meanwhile Pharaoh's army was on the move from Egypt and the Chaldaeans besieging Jerusalem hadraised the siege when they heard the news.	5 وخرج جيش فرعون من مصر. فلما سمع الكلدانيون المحاصرون اورشليم بخبرهم صعدوا عن اورشليم
6 Then the word of Yahweh came to the prophet Jeremiah as fol ows,	6 فصارت كلمة الرب الى ارميا النبي قائلة
7 'Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "To the king of Judah who sent you to consult me make this reply: IsPharaoh's army marching to your aid? It wil withdraw to its own country, Egypt.	7 هكذا قال الرب اله اسرائيل هكذا تقولون لملك يهوذا الذي ارسلكم اليّ لتستشيروني. ها ان جيش فرعون الخارج اليكم لمساعدتكم يرجع الى ارضه الى مصر.
8 The Chaldaeans wil return to attack this city; they will capture it and burn it down.	8 ويرجع الكلدانيون ويحاربون هذه المدينة وياخذونها ويحرقونها بالنار.
9 Yahweh says this: Do not cheer yourselves up by thinking: The Chaldaeans are leaving us for good.They are not leaving.	9 هكذا قال الرب. لا تخدعوا انفسكم قائلين ان الكلدانيين سيذهبون عنا لانهم لا يذهبون.
10 Even if you cut to pieces the whole Chaldaean army now fighting against you until there were only thewounded left, they would stand up again, each man in his tent, to burn this city down." '	10 لانكم وان ضربتم كل جيش الكلدانيين الذين يحاربونكم وبقي منهم رجال قد طعنوا فانهم يقومون كل واحد في خيمته ويحرقون هذه المدينة بالنار
11 At the time when the Chaldaean army, threatened by Pharaoh's army, had raised the siege ofJerusalem,	11 وكان لما أصعد جيش الكلدانيين عن اورشليم من وجه جيش فرعون
12 Jeremiah set out from Jerusalem for the territory of Benjamin to see about a piece of his propertyamong the people there.	12 ان ارميا خرج من اورشليم لينطلق الى ارض بنيامين لينساب من هناك في وسط الشعب.
13 He was at the Benjamin Gate when the guard commander there, a certain Irijah son of Shelemiah,son of Hananiah, arrested the prophet Jeremiah, shouting, 'You are deserting to the Chaldaeans!'	13 وفيما هو في باب بنيامين اذا هناك ناظر الحراس اسمه يرئيا بن شلميا بن حننيا فقبض على ارميا النبي قائلا انك تقع للكلدانيين.
14 Jeremiah answered, 'It is a lie! I am not deserting to the Chaldaeans.' But Irijah would not listen toJeremiah and took him under arrest to the chief men.	14 فقال ارميا كذب. لا اقع للكلدانيين. ولم يسمع له فقبض يرئيا على ارميا وأتى به الى الرؤساء.
15 And the chief men, furious with Jeremiah, had him beaten and shut up in the house of the scribeJonathan, which had been turned into a prison.	15 فغضب الرؤساء على ارميا وضربوه وجعلوه في بيت السجن في بيت يوناثان الكاتب لانهم جعلوه بيت السجن.
16 Thus Jeremiah found himself in an underground vault. And there for a long time he stayed.	16 فلما دخل ارميا الى بيت الجب والى المقببات اقام ارميا هناك اياما كثيرة.
17 Later, King Zedekiah had him sent for, and the king questioned him privately in his palace. 'Is thereany word from Yahweh?' he asked. 'There is,' Jeremiah answered, and added, 'you wil be handed over to theking of Babylon.'	17 ثم ارسل الملك صدقيا واخذه وسأله الملك في بيته سرا وقال هل توجد كلمة من قبل الرب. فقال ارميا توجد. فقال انك تدفع ليد ملك بابل.
18 Jeremiah then said to King Zedekiah, 'What wrong have I done you, or your courtiers or this people,for you to have put me in prison?	18 ثم قال ارميا للملك صدقيا ما هي خطيتي اليك والى عبيدك والى هذا الشعب حتى جعلتموني في بيت السجن.
19 Where are your prophets now who prophesied, "The king of Babylon wil not attack you or thiscountry"?	19 فاين انبياؤكم الذين تنبأوا لكم قائلين لا ياتي ملك بابل عليكم ولا على هذه الارض.
20 So now I beg you to hear me, my lord king! I beg you to approve my request! Do not have me takenback to the house of the scribe Jonathan, or I shall die there.'	20 فالآن اسمع يا سيدي الملك. ليقع تضرعي امامك ولا تردني الى بيت يوناثان الكاتب فلا اموت هناك.
21 King Zedekiah then gave an order, and Jeremiah was confined in the Court of the Guard and given aloaf of bread a day from the Street of the Bakers as long as there was bread left in the city. So Jeremiah stayedin the Court of the Guard.	21 فامر الملك صدقيا ان يضعوا ارميا في دار السجن وان يعطى رغيف خبز كل يوم من سوق الخبازين حتى ينفد كل الخبز من المدينة. فاقام ارميا في دار السجن
