Jeremiah 31

1 When that time comes, Yahweh declares, I shal be the God of al the families of Israel, and they wil bemy people.	1 In quel tempo — oracolo di Jahvè — io sarò Dio per tutte le tribù di Israele ed esse saranno il mio popolo». Il lieto annunzio
2 Yahweh says this: They have found pardon in the desert, those who have survived the sword. Israel ismarching to his rest.	2 Così dice Jahvè: «Ha trovato grazia nel deserto un popolo di scampati alla spada; Israele raggiunge una quieta dimora».
3 Yahweh has appeared to me from afar; I have loved you with an everlasting love and so I stil maintainmy faithful love for you.	3 Da lontano gli è apparso Jahvè: «Ti ho amato di amore eterno: per queto ti ho riservato la mia bontà.
4 I shal build you once more, yes, you wil be rebuilt, Virgin of Israel! Once more in your best attire, andwith your tambourines, you wil go out dancing gaily.	4 Ti edificherò di nuovo e tu sarai riedificata, o vergine di Israele. Di nuovo sarai adorna dei tuoi tamburelli e uscirai fra la danza dei festanti.
5 Once more you wil plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria (those who plant wil themselvesenjoy the fruit).	5 Di nuovo pianterai vigne sulle colline di Samaria; i piantatori pianteranno e raccoglieranno.
6 Yes, a day will come when the watchmen shout on the mountains of Ephraim, 'Up! Let us go up toZion, to Yahweh our God!'	6 Poiché verrà il giorno in cui grideranno le vedette sui monti di Efraim: “Orsù, saliamo a Sion, andiamo da Jahvè nostro Dio”».
7 For Yahweh says this: Shout with joy for Jacob! Hail the chief of nations! Proclaim! Praise! Shout,'Yahweh has saved his people, the remnant of Israel!'	7 Poiché così dice Jahvè: «Innalzate canti di gioia per Giacobbe, esultate per la prima delle nazioni, fate udire la vostra lode e dite: “Jahvè ha salvato il suo popolo, il resto di Israele”».
8 Watch, I shall bring them back from the land of the north and gather them in from the far ends of theearth. With them, the blind and the lame, women with child, women in labour, al together: a mighty throng willreturn here!	8 Ecco, li riconduco dalla terra del nord e li raduno dall’estremità della terra; fra di essi sono il cieco e lo zoppo l’incinta e la partoriente; ritorneranno qui in grande assemblea.
9 In tears they wil return, in prayer I shal lead them. I shal guide them to streams of water, by a smoothpath where they wil not stumble. For I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my first-born son.	9 Essi vengono piangenti, io li conduco consolandoli; li faccio venire ai fiumi d’acqua attraverso la giusta strada nella quale non inciamperanno; perché io sono divenuto un padre per Israele, Efraim è il mio primogenito.
10 Listen, nations, to the word of Yahweh. On the farthest coasts and islands proclaim it, say, 'He whoscattered Israel is gathering him, wil guard him as a shepherd guarding his flock.'	10 Ascoltate la parola di Jahvè, popoli, annunciatela alle isole lontane e dite: «Colui che ha disperso Israele lo raccoglie e lo custodisce come un pastore il gregge»,
11 For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, rescued him from a hand stronger than his own.	11 perché Jahvè ha redento Giacobbe, lo ha riscattato dalle mani di uno più forte di lui.
12 They wil come, shouting for joy on the heights of Zion, thronging towards Yahweh's lavish gifts, forwheat, new wine and oil, sheep and cattle; they will be like a wel -watered garden, they wil sorrow no more.	12 Verranno e inneggeranno sull’altura di Sion affluiranno verso i beni di Jahvè, verso il frumento, il mosto e l’olio verso il frutto del bestiame minuto e del bestiame grosso. La loro anima sarà come un giardino irriguo, non languiranno più.
13 The young girl will then take pleasure in the dance, and young men and old alike; I shal change theirmourning into gladness, comfort them, give them joy after their troubles;	13 Allora si rallegrerà la vergine nella danza, i giovani e i vecchi gioiranno. Io cambierò il loro lutto in gioia, li consolerò e li renderò felici, liberi dai dolori.
14 I shal refresh my priests with rich food, and my people wil gorge themselves on my lavish gifts,Yahweh declares.	14 Sazierò di grasso l’anima dei sacerdoti e il mio popolo si sazierà dei miei beni. Oracolo di Jahvè.
15 Yahweh says this: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamenting and weeping bitterly: it is Rachel weeping forher children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.	15 Così dice Jahvè: «A Rama si è udita una voce, lamento e pianto amaro; Rachele piange sui figli, rifiuta di consolarsi perché non sono più».
16 Yahweh says this: Stop your lamenting dry your eyes, for your labour wil have a reward, Yahwehdeclares, and they will return from the enemy's country.	16 Così dice Jahvè: «Trattieni la tua voce dal pianto, i tuoi occhi dal versare lacrime, perché c’è una ricompensa alle tue pene; essi ritorneranno dal paese nemico.
17 There is hope for your future after al , Yahweh declares, your children wil return to their homeland.	17 C’è una speranza per il tuo avvenire; i tuoi figli ritorneranno nei loro confini.
18 I have indeed heard Ephraim's grieving, 'You flogged me, I took a flogging, like a young, untrainedbull. Bring me back, let me come back, for you are Yahweh my God!	18 Ho ben udito Efraim rammaricarsi: “Tu mi hai castigato e io sono stato castigato; ero come un giovenco non domato. Fammi ritornare e io ritornerò, perché tu sei Jahvè mio Dio.
19 For, since I turned away, I have repented; having understood, I beat my breast. I was deeplyashamed, I blushed, aware of the disgrace incurred when I was young.'	19 Poiché dopo il mio smarrimento, mi sono pentito, dopo essermi ravveduto mi sono battuto l’anca. Mi sono vergognato e confuso, perché porto l’onta della mia giovinezza”.
20 Is Ephraim, then, so dear a son to me, a child so favoured, that whenever I mention him I rememberhim lovingly still? That is why I yearn for him, why I must take pity on him, Yahweh declares.	20 Efraim è forse per me un figlio così prezioso, oppure un mio fanciullo prediletto? Poiché ogni volta che parlo contro di lui lo ricordo sempre più vivamente. Per questo le mie viscere si sono commosse per lui, senza dubbio io avrò pietà di lui». Oracolo di Jahvè.
21 Set up your signposts, raise yourself landmarks, fix your mind on the road, the way by which youwent. Come home, Virgin of Israel, come home to these towns of yours.	21 Innalzati cippi, poniti pali indicatori, sta’ bene attenta alla strada, alla via per la quale sei passata. Ritorna, vergine di Israele, ritorna alle tue città.
22 How long wil you hesitate, rebellious daughter? For Yahweh is creating something new on earth: theWoman sets out to find her Husband again.	22 Fino a quando andrai errando, figlia ribelle? Poiché Jahvè ha creato una cosa nuova sulla terra: la donna circonda l’uomo!
23 Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, 'In the country of Judah and in its towns, they will usethese words once more, when I bring their captives home: "Yahweh bless you, home of saving justice, holymountain!"	23 Così dice Jahvè degli eserciti, Dio di Israele: La dimora di giustizia «Si dirà ancora questa parola nel paese di Giuda e nelle sue città, quando avrò cambiato la loro sorte: “Jahvè ti benedica, dimora di giustizia, monte santo!”.
24 'And in this country, Judah and al its towns, the ploughmen and those who wander with their flocks,wil live together,	24 Ivi abiteranno insieme Giuda e tutte le sue città, agricoltori e allevatori di greggi.
25 for I shal give the weary al they need and satisfy al those whose strength has gone.'	25 Poiché ristorerò l’anima stanca e sazierò ogni anima che languisce».
26 At this, I awoke and saw that my sleep had been sweet to me.	26 A questo punto mi sono destato e ho guardato; il mio sonno mi apparve soave.
27 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shall sow the House of Israel and the House ofJudah with the seed both of people and of cattle.	27 «Ecco, verranno giorni» oracolo di Jahvè «nei quali seminerò la casa di Israele e la casa di Giuda con semente di uomini e di bestiame.
28 And as I once watched over them to uproot, to knock down, to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster,so now I shall watch over them to build and to plant, Yahweh declares.	28 Allora, come ho vigilato su di essi per sradicare e per demolire, per abbattere e per distruggere e per far del male, così vigilerò su di essi per edificare e per piantare». Oracolo di Jahvè.
29 'In those days people will no longer say: "The fathers have eaten unripe grapes; the children's teethare set on edge."	29 «In quei giorni non si dirà più: “I]padri mangiarono l’uva acerba e i denti dei figli ne rimasero allegati!”.
30 But each will die for his own guilt. Everyone who eats unripe grapes will have his own teeth set onedge.	30 Perché certamente ognuno morirà per la sua iniquità; a ogni uomo che mangi l’uva acerba si allegheranno i denti».
31 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shall make a new covenant with the House ofIsrael (and the House of Judah),	31 «Ecco, verranno giorni — oracolo di Jahvè — nei quali con la casa di Israele io concluderò una nuova alleanza.
32 but not like the covenant I made with their ancestors the day I took them by the hand to bring them outof Egypt, a covenant which they broke, even though I was their Master, Yahweh declares.	32 Non come l’alleanza che conclusi con i loro padri, quando li presi mano per farli uscire dalla terra d'Egitto alleanza che essi violarono, benché io fossi loro signore oracolo di Jahvè —.
33 No, this is the covenant I shal make with the House of Israel when those days have come, Yahwehdeclares. Within them I shal plant my Law, writing it on their hearts. Then I shal be their God and they wil be mypeople.	33 Questa sarà l'alleanza che io concluderò con la casa di Israele dopo quei giorni — oracolo di Jahvè —. Porrò la mia legge nel loro intimo, la scriverò sul loro Cuore; sarò loro Dio ed essi il mio popolo.
34 There wil be no further need for everyone to teach neighbour or brother, saying, "Learn to knowYahweh!" No, they wil al know me, from the least to the greatest, Yahweh declares, since I shal forgive theirguilt and never more cal their sin to mind.'	34 Uno non dovrà più stimolare un altro, né uno dire al fratello: “Riconosci Jahvè!” perché tutti mi riconosceranno, dal più piccolo fra di essi al più grande — oracolo di Jahvè —; poiché io perdonerò la loro iniquità, non mi ricorderò più del loro peccato».
35 Yahweh who provides the sun to shine by day, who regulates moon and stars to shine by night, whostirs the sea, making its waves roar, he whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth, says this,	35 Così dice Jahvè che ha dato il sole come luce del giorno, la luna e le stelle come luce della notte. Egli solleva il mare così che le sue onde mugghiano; Jahvè degli eserciti è il suo nome:
36 'Were this established order ever to pass away before me, Yahweh declares, then the race of Israelwould also cease being a nation for ever before me!'	36 «Qualora vengano meno queste leggi dinanzi a me — oracolo di Jahvè — allora anche la progenie di Israele cesserà di essere un popolo davanti a me per sempre».
37 Yahweh says this, 'Were the heavens above ever to be measured, the foundations of the earth belowever to be fathomed, then I too would reject the whole race of Israel for al that they have done, Yahwehdeclares.'	37 Così dice Jahvè: «Se è possibile misurare i cieli di sopra e scrutare le basi della terra di sotto, anch’io rigetterò tutta la progenie di Israele per tutto ciò che ha commesso». Oracolo di Jahvè.
38 'Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when the City wil be rebuilt for Yahweh, from theTower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.	38 «Ecco, verranno giorni — oracolo di Jahvè — nei quali sarà riedificata questa città di Jahvè dalla torre di Khananael fino alla porta dell’Angolo.
39 Then once again the measuring line wil stretch straight to the Hil of Gareb, turning then to Goah.	39 La corda per misurare sarà ancora tirata sempre diritto di là fino alla collina di Gareb, volgendo poi verso Goat.
40 And the whole valley, with its corpses and ashes, and al the ground beside the ravine of the Kidronas far as the corner of the Horse Gate, eastwards, will be consecrated to Yahweh. It will never be destroyed ordemolished again.	40 Tutta la valle, i cadaveri, le ceneri e tutti i campi fino al torrente Cedron, fino all’angolo della porta dei Cavalli d'oriente, saranno consacrati a Jahvè; non saranno più sconvolti né distrutti in eterno».
