Jeremiah 24

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Yahweh gave me a vision: set out in front of the Temple of Yahweh were two baskets of figs. This wasafter Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had led Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, away into exile fromJerusalem, with the chief men of Judah, the blacksmiths and metalworkers, and had taken them to Babylon.	1 Il Signore mi diede una visione, e vidi due panieri pieni di fichi, posati davanti al tempio del Signore, dopo che Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia aveva deportato da Gerusalemme Geconia, figlio di Ioachim, re di Giuda, e i principi di Giuda e gli artigiani e i gioiellieri, e li aveva condotti a Babilonia.
2 One basket contained excellent figs, like those that ripen first; the other contained very bad figs, so badthey were uneatable.	2 Un paniere conteneva ottimi fichi, come soglion essere i primaticci, l'altro paniere conteneva dei fichi pessimi, da non potersi mangiare, tanto erano andati a male.
3 Yahweh said to me, 'What do you see, Jeremiah?' 'Figs,' I answered, 'the good ones excel ent, the badones very bad, so bad as to be uneatable.'	3 E il Signore mi disse: « Che vedi, Geremia? » Risposi: « Fichi: fichi buoni, molto buoni, e fichi cattivi, molto cattivi, tanto cattivi da non potersi mangiare ».
4 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me,	4 E il Signore mi rivolse la parola, dicendo:
5 'Yahweh, the God of Israel, says this, "As these figs are good, so I mean to concern myself with thewelfare of the exiles of Judah whom I have sent from this place to the country of the Chaldaeans.	5 « Queste cose dice il Signore, il Dio d'Israele: come questi fichi buoni, così riguarderò con favore gli esuli di Giuda, che io ho mandati da questo luogo nella terra dei Caldei, se volgerò placati ad essi i miei sguardi, e li ricondurrò in questa terra, e li edificherò, senza più distruggerli, li pianterò senza più sradicarli.
6 My eyes will watch over them for their good, to bring them back to this country, to build them up andnot to break them down, to plant them and not to uproot them.	6 E darò loro un cuore per conoscere me, e che io sono il Signore: essi saranno il mio popolo, ed io sarò il loro Dio, perchè ritorneranno a me con tutto il loro cuore.
7 I shal give them a heart to acknowledge that I am Yahweh. They wil be my people and I shal be theirGod, for they will return to me with all their heart.	7 E come i fichi pessimi, che non si possono mangiare da quanto son cattivi — cosi dice il Signore — così tratterò Sedecia, re di Giuda, i suoi principi e gli altri di Gerusalemme, quelli rimasti in questa città e quelli che abitano nella terra d'Egitto.
8 As for the bad figs, the figs so bad as to be uneatable-yes, Yahweh says this -- that is how I shal treatZedekiah king of Judah, his chief men and what is left of Jerusalem, those who remain in this country and thoseliving in Egypt.	8 Li farò straziare e affliggere per tutti i regni della terra, obbrobrio, tavola, scherno, maledizione in tutti i luoghi in cui li avrò cacciati; ioe manderò contro di essi la spada, la fame e la peste, fino a che non siano sterminati dalla terra che io diedi ai loro padri ».
9 I shal make them an object of horror, a disaster, to all the kingdoms of the earth, a thing of shame, abyword, a laughing-stock, a curse, wherever I shal drive them.
10 Sword, famine and plague I shall send against them until they have vanished from the soil I gave tothem and to their ancestors." '
