Jeremiah 24

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Yahweh gave me a vision: set out in front of the Temple of Yahweh were two baskets of figs. This wasafter Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had led Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, away into exile fromJerusalem, with the chief men of Judah, the blacksmiths and metalworkers, and had taken them to Babylon.	1 Hízome ver Yahveh, y he aquí que había un par de cestos de higos presentados delante del Templo de Yahveh - esto era después que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, hubo deportado de Jerusalén al rey de Judá, Jeconías, hijo de Yoyaquim, a los principales de Judá y a los herreros y cerrajeros de Jerusalén, y los llevó a Babilonia -.
2 One basket contained excellent figs, like those that ripen first; the other contained very bad figs, so badthey were uneatable.	2 Un cesto era de higos muy buenos, como los primerizos, y el otro de higos malos, tan malos que no se podían comer.
3 Yahweh said to me, 'What do you see, Jeremiah?' 'Figs,' I answered, 'the good ones excel ent, the badones very bad, so bad as to be uneatable.'	3 Y me dijo Yahveh: «¿Qué estás viendo Jeremías?» Dije: «Higos. Los higos buenos son muy buenos; y los higos malos, muy malos, que no se dejan comer de puro malos».
4 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me,	4 Entonces me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh en estos términos:
5 'Yahweh, the God of Israel, says this, "As these figs are good, so I mean to concern myself with thewelfare of the exiles of Judah whom I have sent from this place to the country of the Chaldaeans.	5 Así habla Yahveh, Dios de Israel: Como por estos higos buenos, así me interesaré en favor de los desterrados de Judá que yo eché de este lugar al país de los caldeos.
6 My eyes will watch over them for their good, to bring them back to this country, to build them up andnot to break them down, to plant them and not to uproot them.	6 Pondré la vista en ellos para su bien, los devolveré a este país, los reconstruiré para no derrocarlos y los plantaré para no arrancarlos.
7 I shal give them a heart to acknowledge that I am Yahweh. They wil be my people and I shal be theirGod, for they will return to me with all their heart.	7 Les daré corazón para conocerme, pues yo soy Yahveh, y ellos serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios, pues volverán a mí con todo su corazón.
8 As for the bad figs, the figs so bad as to be uneatable-yes, Yahweh says this -- that is how I shal treatZedekiah king of Judah, his chief men and what is left of Jerusalem, those who remain in this country and thoseliving in Egypt.	8 Pero igual que a los higos malos, que no se pueden comer de malos - sí, así dice Yahveh -, así haré al rey Sedecías, a sus principales y al resto de Jerusalén: a los que quedaren en este país, y a los que están en el país de Egipto.
9 I shal make them an object of horror, a disaster, to all the kingdoms of the earth, a thing of shame, abyword, a laughing-stock, a curse, wherever I shal drive them.	9 Haré de ellos el espantajo, una calamidad, de todos los reinos de la tierra; el oprobio y el ejemplo, la burla y la maldición por dondequiera que los empuje,
10 Sword, famine and plague I shall send against them until they have vanished from the soil I gave tothem and to their ancestors." '	10 daré suelta entre ellos a la espada, al hambre y a la peste, hasta que sean acabados de sobre el solar que di a ellos y a sus padres.
