Jeremiah 23

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 'Disaster for the shepherds who lose and scatter the sheep of my pasture, Yahweh declares.	1 Ai dos pastores que deixam perder-se e dispersar-se o rebanho miúdo de minha pastagem! - oráculo do Senhor.
2 This, therefore, is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about the shepherds who shepherd my people,"You have scattered my flock, you have driven them away and have not taken care of them. Right, I shal takecare of you for your misdeeds, Yahweh declares!	2 Por isso, assim fala o Senhor, Deus de Israel, acerca dos pastores que apascentam o meu povo: Dispersastes o meu rebanho e o afugentastes, sem dele vos ocupar. Eu, porém, vou ocupar-me à vossa custa da malícia de tal procedimento - oráculo do Senhor.
3 But the remnant of my flock I myself shal gather from all the countries where I have driven them, andbring them back to their folds; they will be fruitful and increase in numbers.	3 Reunirei o que restar das minhas ovelhas, espalhadas pelos países em que as exilei e as trarei para as pastagens em que se hão de multiplicar.
4 For them I shall raise up shepherds to shepherd them and pasture them. No fear, no terror for themany more; not one shal be lost, Yahweh declares!	4 Escolherei para elas pastores que as apascentarão, de sorte que não tenham receios nem temores, e já nenhuma delas se extravie - oráculo do Senhor.
5 Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal raise an upright Branch for David; he willreign as king and be wise, doing what is just and upright in the country.	5 Dias virão - oráculo do Senhor - em que farei brotar de Davi um rebento justo que será rei e governará com sabedoria e exercerá na terra o direito e a eqüidade.
6 In his days Judah wil triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name he wil be called, 'Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice.' "	6 Sob seu reinado será salvo Judá, e viverá Israel em segurança. E eis o nome com que será chamado: Javé-nossa-justiça!
7 'So, look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people wil no longer say, "As Yahweh liveswho brought the Israelites out of Egypt,"	7 Eis por que chegarão dias - oráculo do Senhor - em que não se dirá mais: Viva Deus, que tirou do Egito os filhos de Israel.
8 but, "As Yahweh lives who led back and brought home the offspring of the House of Israel from theland of the north and all the countries to which he had driven them, to live on their own soil." '	8 Mas sim: Viva Deus, que fez voltar os israelitas do norte e de todas as terras, aonde os exilara, trazendo-os à pátria.
9 On the prophets. My heart is broken within me, I tremble in al my bones; I am like a drunken man, likea man overcome with wine, because of Yahweh and his holy words:	9 Aos profetas. Parte-se dentro de mim o coração, e se me abalaram todos os ossos. Assemelho-me a um ébrio, qual homem prostrado pelo vinho, por causa do Senhor e de sua palavra santa.
10 'For the country is ful of adulterers; yes, because of a curse, the country is in mourning and thepasturage in the desert has dried up; they are prompt to do wrong, make no effort to do right.	10 A terra está cheia de adultérios e está em luto esta terra maldita. As pastagens do deserto ressecaram e os homens correm para o mal. É a iniqüidade que lhes dá forças.
11 Yes, even prophet and priest are godless, I have detected their wickedness in my own House,Yahweh declares.	11 São profanos o próprio profeta e o sacerdote. Até no meu templo encontro sua perversidade - oráculo do Senhor.
12 Because of this, their way wil prove treacherous going for them; in the darkness where they aredriven, there they wil fall. For I shal bring disaster on them, when the year for punishing them comes, Yahwehdeclares.	12 Por isso o seu caminho será como um caminho escorregadio nas trevas, e lá se entrechocarão e hão de cair. Pois precipitarei a desgraça sobre eles no ano em que os castigar - oráculo do Senhor.
13 'In the prophets of Samaria I have seen insanity: they prophesied in the name of Baal and led mypeople Israel astray.	13 Entre os profetas samaritanos vi absurdos: profetizaram em nome de Baal e desencaminharam meu povo de Israel.
14 But in the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: adultery, persistent lying, suchabetting of the wicked that no one renounces his wickedness. To me they are al like Sodom and its inhabitantsare like Gomorrah.	14 Mas, entre os profetas de Jerusalém vejo coisas hediondas: adultério e hipocrisia. Encorajam os maus, para que nenhum se converta da maldade. A meus olhos são todos iguais a Sodoma e seus congêneres semelhantes a Gomorra.
15 So this is what Yahweh Sabaoth says about the prophets, "Now I shal give them wormwood to eatand make them drink poisoned water, since from the prophets of Jerusalem godlessness has spread throughoutthe land."	15 Por isso, eis o oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos, contra os profetas: vou nutri-los com absinto, e dar-lhes de beber águas contaminadas. Porquanto, é pela atitude dos profetas de Jerusalém que a impiedade invadiu a terra.
16 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Do not listen to what those prophets prophesy to you; they are deludingyou, they retail visions of their own, and not what comes from Yahweh's mouth.	16 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: não escuteis os profetas que vos transmitem vãos oráculos; são visões do próprio espírito que vos divulgam, e não as palavras do Senhor.
17 To those who despise me, they keep saying: Yahweh has spoken: you wil have peace! and to al whofol ow their own stubborn inclinations: No disaster wil touch you."	17 Não cessam de proclamar aos que me desprezam: Oráculo do Senhor: tudo irá bem para vós! e aos que seguem, obstinadamente, as tendências do coração dizem ainda: Nada de mal vos acontecerá.
18 But who has been present in Yahweh's council and seen, and heard his word? Who has paidattention to his word and listened to it?	18 Mas qual deles assistiu à deliberação do Senhor? Quem o viu, e lhe escutou a palavra? Quem a ouviu e lhe prestou atenção?
19 Look, Yahweh's hurricane, his wrath, bursts out, a fearsome hurricane, to burst on the heads of thewicked;	19 Ora, eis que explode a tempestade do Senhor, o seu furor, e a tormenta que redemoinha, prestes a cair sobre a cabeça dos maus.
20 Yahweh's anger wil not withdraw until he has performed, has carried out, what he has in mind. In thefinal days, you wil understand this clearly,	20 Não se acalmará a cólera do Senhor, enquanto não se executarem e cumprirem seus desígnios. Somente nos dias que virão os entendereis plenamente.
21 'I did not send these prophets, yet they ran! I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied!	21 Não enviei tais profetas: são eles que correm; nem jamais lhes falei; e, no entanto, proferiram oráculos.
22 Had they been present in my council, they could have proclaimed my words to my people and turnedthem from their evil way and from the wickedness of their deeds!	22 Houvessem eles assistido à minha deliberação, e seriam minhas as palavras que haveriam de proferir, fazendo que meu povo renunciasse à perversidade de seu procedimento.
23 'Am I a God when near, Yahweh demands, and not a God when far away?	23 Porventura eu sou Deus apenas quando estou perto? - oráculo do Senhor. Não o sou também quando de longe?
24 Can anyone hide somewhere secret without my seeing him? Yahweh demands. Do I not fil heavenand earth? Yahweh demands.	24 Poderá um homem se ocultar de tal modo que eu o não veja? - oráculo do Senhor. Porventura não enche minha presença o céu e a terra? - oráculo do Senhor.
25 'I have heard what the prophets say who make their lying prophecies in my name. "I have had adream," they say, "I have had a dream!"	25 Ouço o que dizem os profetas que proferem em meu nome falsos oráculos. Tive um sonho. Tive um sonho!
26 How long are there to be those among the prophets who prophesy lies and are in fact prophets oftheir own delusions?	26 Quanto tempo vai durar isso? Julgam esses profetas, ao proferirem mentiras e as imposturas de seus corações,
27 They are doing their best, by means of the dreams that they keep tel ing each other, to make mypeople forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name in favour of Baal.	27 que irão, pelos sonhos que contam uns aos outros, tornar meu nome esquecido do povo, assim como aconteceu a seus pais, que esqueceram o meu nome por causa do de Baal?
28 Let the prophet who has had a dream tel it for a dream! And let him who receives a word from me,deliver my word accurately! 'What have straw and wheat in common? Yahweh demands.	28 Conte o profeta o sonho que tiver! Mas, a quem for dado ouvir-me a palavra, que fielmente a reproduza. Que vem fazer a palha com o grão? - oráculo do Senhor.
29 Is my word not like fire, Yahweh demands, is it not like a hammer shattering a rock?	29 Não se assemelha ao fogo minha palavra - oráculo do Senhor -, qual martelo que fende a rocha?
30 'So, then, I have a quarrel with the prophets, Yahweh declares, that steal my words from one another.	30 Eis por que - oráculo do Senhor - vou lançar-me contra os profetas que imitam minhas revelações falando a outros.
31 I have a quarrel with the prophets, Yahweh declares, who wag their tongues to utter prophecies.	31 Vou pedir contas aos profetas, cujas línguas não vacilam em proclamar: oráculo do Senhor.
32 I have a quarrel with the prophets who make prophecies out of lying dreams, Yahweh declares, whorecount them, and lead my people astray by their lies and their bragging. I certainly never sent them orcommissioned them, and they serve no good purpose for this people, Yahweh declares.	32 Irei contra os profetas de sonhos enganadores que, ao narrá-los, ludibriam com mentiras e fatuidade o meu povo, quando nem missão lhes outorguei, nem mandato algum, e de nenhuma valia são para esse povo - oráculo do Senhor.
33 'And when this people, or a prophet, or a priest, asks you, "What is Yahweh's burden?" you mustanswer, "You are the burden, and I shal get rid of you, Yahweh declares!"	33 Quando esse povo ou algum profeta ou sacerdote vier perguntar-te: Qual o novo fardo do Senhor que anuncias? dir-lhe-ás: Fardo? És tu esse fardo, e dele me alijarei - oráculo do Senhor.
34 'As for the prophet, the priest, or anyone else, who says, "Yahweh's burden", I shall punish that man,and his household too.	34 E o profeta, o sacerdote ou o leigo, que {ousar} dizer: oráculo do Senhor, eu o castigarei, assim como a sua família.
35 This is what you must say to one another, among yourselves, "What answer has Yahweh given?" or"What has Yahweh said?"	35 Eis como entre vós deveis exprimir-vos: Que respondeu o Senhor? ou: Que disse o Senhor?
36 But stop using the expression "Yahweh's burden", for what each man says will be his ownresponsibility. And you twist the words of the living God, of Yahweh Sabaoth, our God.	36 Não repitais, porém: oráculo do Senhor, porquanto tal palavra tornar-se-á um fardo para cada um, já que deturpais o sentido das palavras de Deus.
37 This is the way to speak to a prophet, "What answer has Yahweh given?" or "What has Yahwehsaid?"	37 Ao profeta dirás portanto: Que te respondeu o Senhor? Que te disse o Senhor?
38 But if you say, "Yahweh's burden", then Yahweh says this, "Since you use the expression 'Yahweh'sburden', when I have warned you to stop saying, 'Yahweh's burden',	38 Se, porém, empregardes esta palavra: oráculo do Senhor, sendo que vos adverti de que não a deveríeis repetir,
39 believe me, I shal pick you up and fling you from my presence, you and the city I gave to you and toyour ancestors.	39 por tal motivo erguer-vos-ei {qual um fardo} e longe de mim vos lançarei, bem como a cidade que a vós e a vossos pais havia outorgado.
40 I shal bring down everlasting shame on you, everlasting and unforgettable disgrace." '	40 Eu vos afligirei com um perpétuo opróbrio, uma eterna vergonha, inesquecível.
