Jeremiah 22

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Yahweh said this, 'Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and there say this word,	1 - Il Signore dice così: «Scendi nella casa del re di Giuda e ivi pronuncerai queste parole:
2 "Listen to the word of Yahweh, king of Judah now occupying the throne of David, you, your officials andyour people who go through these gates.	2 e dirai: - O re di Giuda, che siedi sul trono di David, tu e i tuoi servi e il popolo tuo che varcate queste soglie, ascoltate la parola del Signore.
3 Yahweh says this: Act uprightly and justly; rescue from the hands of the oppressor anyone who hasbeen wronged, do not exploit or il -treat the stranger, the orphan, the widow; shed no innocent blood in thisplace.	3 Il Signore dice così: "Tutelate il diritto e la giustizia e liberate l'oppresso per violenza dalle mani del calunniatore, e il forestiere, l'orfano e la vedova non contristate, e non opprimete iniquamente, e non spargete il sangue innocente in questo luogo.
4 For if you are scrupulous in obeying this command, then kings occupying the throne of David willcontinue to make their entry through the gates of this palace riding in chariots or on horseback, they, theirofficials and their people.	4 Che se vi adopererete a praticare queste parole, i re della stirpe di David, sedenti sopra il suo trono, montanti carri e cavalli, essi e i loro servi e il loro popolo continueranno a varcare queste soglie.
5 But if you do not listen to these words, then I swear by myself, Yahweh declares, this palace shalbecome a ruin!	5 Ma se non darete ascolto a queste parole, per me stesso lo giuro, dice il Signore, questa casa sarà ridotta in una solitudine".
6 "Yes, this is what Yahweh says about the palace of the king of Judah: You are like Gilead to me, like apeak of Lebanon. Al the same, I wil reduce you to a desert, to uninhabited towns.	6 Perchè il Signore dice questo contro la casa del re di Giuda: "Tu mi sembri Galaad, la cima del Libano, ma vedrai se non ti ridurrò un deserto, città disabitata.
7 I dedicate men to destroy you, each man with his weapons; they will cut down your finest cedars andthrow them on the fire.	7 E consacrerò al tuo eccidio uomini e armi, e taglieranno i tuoi eletti cedri e li getteranno sul fuoco.
8 "And when many nations pass this city, they wil say to one another: Why has Yahweh treated thisgreat city like this?	8 E molte genti passeranno per questa città e gli uni e gli altri diranno: E perchè ha fatto così il Signore a questa grande città?
9 And the answer wil be: Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God to worship othergods and serve them." '	9 E risponderanno: Perchè hanno mancato all'alleanza del Signore Dio loro e adorarono dèi stranieri e a questi servirono.
10 Do not weep for the man who is dead, do not raise the dirge for him. Weep rather for the one who hasgone away, since he wil never come back, never see his native land again.	10 Non piangete il morto e non fate lutto di compianto su di esso, compiangete colui che esce, perchè non tornerà più e non vedrà più la terra che gli diede i natali".
11 For this is what Yahweh has said about Shallum son of Josiah, king of Judah, who succeeded Josiahhis father and was forced to leave this place, 'He wil never come back to it	11 Perchè così dice il Signore a Sellum figlio di Josia re di Giuda, che succedette nel regno a Josia suo padre, che è partito da questo luogo: "Qui non ritornerà mai più.
12 but wil die in the place to which he has been taken captive; and he wil never see this country again.	12 Ma nel luogo ove l'ho deportato, ivi morrà e non vedrà mai più questa terra.
13 'Disaster for the man who builds his house without uprightness, his upstairs rooms without fairjudgement, who makes his fel ow-man work for nothing, without paying him his wages,	13 Guai a colui che edifica la sua casa coll'ingiustizia e le sue stanze non coll'equità, che tiene asservito il suo prossimo gratuitamente e non gli rende la debita mercede!
14 who says, "I shal build myself a spacious palace with airy upstairs rooms," who makes windows in it,panels it with cedar, and paints it vermilion.	14 Che dice: Mi fabbricherò una vasta casa e sale spaziose, che apre ampie finestre e fa i soffitti di cedro e li dipinge col minio.
15 Are you more of a king because of your passion for cedar? Did your father go hungry or thirsty? Buthe did what is just and upright, so al went wel for him.	15 Pensi tu di regnare, perchè puoi competere col cedro? Tuo padre non ha egli forse mangiato e bevuto e tutelò il diritto e la giustizia allora che tutto gli andava bene?
16 He used to examine the cases of poor and needy, then al went wel . Is not that what it means to knowme? Yahweh demands.	16 Giudicò la causa del povero e del misero e ben per lui; e non fu questo frutto dell'aver conosciuto me, dice il Signore?
17 You on the other hand have eyes and heart for nothing but your own interests, for shedding innocentblood and perpetrating violence and oppression.'	17 Invece gli occhi tuoi e il tuo cuore sono vòlti all'avarizia e a spargere il sangue innocente e all'oppressione e a correre al mal fare".
18 That is why Yahweh says this about Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: 'No lamenting for him,"My poor brother! My poor sister!" No lamenting for him, "His poor lordship! His poor majesty!"	18 Per questo, così dice il Signore a Joachim figlio di Josia, re di Giuda: "Non lo lamenteranno: Ah, fratello! ah, sorella! Non grideranno: Ah, sire! ah, inclito!
19 He wil have a donkey's funeral -- dragged away and thrown out of the gates of Jerusalem.'	19 Colla sepoltura di un asino sarà seppellito, gettato a marcire in abbandono fuori dalle porte di Gerusalemme.
20 'Climb the Lebanon range and shriek, raise your voice in Bashan, shriek from the Abarim, for al yourlovers have been ruined!	20 Sali sul Libano e grida, e in Basan dà fuori tutta la tua voce e grida a quei che transitano, che tutti i tuoi amanti furono stritolati.
21 I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, "I wil not listen!" From your youth this has been howyou behaved, refusing to listen to my voice.	21 io ti parlai nella tua prosperità e hai detto: Non voglio ascoltare; questa è la tua abitudine fin dalla tua gioventù perchè non hai mai voluto ascoltare la mia voce.
22 The wind will shepherd al your shepherds away and your lovers wil go into captivity. Then you wilblush deep with shame at the thought of al your wickedness.	22 Tutti i tuoi pastori pascolerà il vento e i tuoi amatori andranno in ischiavitù e allora raccoglierai confusione e vergogna da tutta la tua malizia.
23 You who have made the Lebanon your home and made your nest among the cedars, how you wilgroan when anguish overtakes you, pangs like those of a woman in labour!	23 Tu che siedi sul Libano e fai il tuo nido tra i cedri, che gemiti hai mandato al sentirti sorprendere dai dolori, come dalle sue doglie una partoriente.
24 'As I live, Yahweh declares, even if Coniah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, were the signet ring onmy right hand, I would stil wrench you off!	24 Vivo io, dice il Signore, che se Jeconia figlio di Joachim re di Giuda fosse l'anello della mia mano destra io ne lo strapperò.
25 I shal hand you over to those determined to kill you, to those you dread, to Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, to the Chaldaeans.	25 E ti darò in mano di quelli che cercano la tua vita e in mano di coloro la cui faccia tu paventi e in mano di Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia e in mano dei Caldei.
26 I shal hurl you and the mother who bore you into another country; you were not born there but youwil both die there.	26 E manderò te e la genitrice che t'ha dato i natali in una terra straniera di cui non siete nativi e là morrete.
27 They wil not return to the country to which they desperately long to return.'	27 E in quella terra a cui aspira la loro anima di ritornare non ritorneranno più!
28 Is he a shoddy broken pot, this man Coniah, a crock that no one wants? Why are he and his offspringejected, hurled into a country they know nothing of?	28 È egli un vaso di coccio e spezzato questo Jeconia, un arnese spregiato? E perchè sono stati reietti egli e la sua stirpe e gettati in una terra che non avevano mai conosciuta?
29 O land, land, land, listen to the word of Yahweh!	29 Terra, terra, terra, odi la parola del Signore!
30 Yahweh says this, 'List this man as: Childless; a man who made a failure of his life, since none of hisoffspring wil succeed in occupying the throne of David, or ruling in Judah again.'	30 Il Signore dice così: Quest'uomo, scrivilo come uomo sterile, che nei giorni suoi non avrà prosperità, giacchè non vi sarà alcuno del suo seme che segga sul trono di David e abbia ancora la signoria di Giuda.
