Jeremiah 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Yahweh said this to me, 'Go and buy a linen waistcloth and put it round your waist. But do not dip it inwater.'	1 Così mi parlò il Signore: « Va a comprarti una cintura di lino, portala ai fianchi, ma non la metter mai nell'acqua ».
2 And so, as Yahweh had ordered, I bought a waistcloth and put it round my waist.	2 Io comprai la cintura, secondo l'ordine del Signore, e me la misi ai fianchi.
3 A second time the word of Yahweh came to me,	3 E il Signore mi rivolse di nuovo la parola, dicendo:
4 'Take the waistcloth that you have bought and are wearing round your waist. Up, go to the Euphratesand hide it there in a hole in the rock.'	4 « Prendi la cintura che hai comprata e che porti intorno ai fianchi, alzati e vai all'Eufrate, e là nascondila nella fessura d'una roccia ».
5 So I went and hid it by the Euphrates as Yahweh had ordered me.	5 E io andai e la nascosi nell'Eufrate, secondo l'ordine del Signore.
6 A long time later, Yahweh said to me, 'Up, go to the Euphrates and fetch the waistcloth I ordered you tohide there.'	6 E dopo un gran numero di giorni il Signore mi disse: « Alzati, va all'Eufrate, e riprendi la cintura che ti ordinai di nascondervi. ».
7 So I went to the Euphrates, and I searched, and I took the waistcloth from the place where I had hiddenit. And there was the waistcloth ruined, no use for anything.	7 E io andai aU'Eufrate, e scopersi la buca e ripresi la cintura dal luogo ove l'avevo nascosta. Ed ecco che la cintura era marcita in modo da non esser più buona a nulla.
8 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	8 E la parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
9 'Yahweh says this, "In the same way I shal ruin the pride of Judah, the immense pride of Jerusalem.	9 « Queste cose dice il Signore: Così farò marcire la superbia di Giuda e la gran superbia di Gerusalemme.
10 This evil people, these people who refuse to listen to my words, who fol ow their own stubborninclinations and run after other gods, serving and worshipping them -- this people wil become like this waistcloth,no good for anything.	10 Questo popolo pessimo, che non vuol sentire le mie parole, e segue la perversità del suo cuore, e va dietro a dèi stranieri, a servirli e adorarli, sarà come questa cintura, che non è più buona a niente.
11 For just as a waistcloth clings to a man's waist, so I made the whole House of Israel and the wholeHouse of Judah cling to me, Yahweh declares, to be my people, my glory, my honour and my pride. But theyhave not listened."	11 Come una cintura aderisce ai fianchi dell'uomo, così mi sono unita tutta la casa d'Israele e tutta la casa di Giuda — dice il Signore, — perchè divenisse il mio popolo, il mio nome, la mia lode, la mia gloria. E non stettero a sentire ».
12 'You wil also say this to them, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Any jug can be fil ed with wine." And if they answer you, "Do you think we do not know that any jug can be fil ed with wine?"	12 Or tu dirai loro queste parole: « Ecco quanto dice il Signore Dio d'Israele: — Ogni fiasco sarà pieno di vino. — Essi ti diranno: — Non lo sappiamo che ogni fiasco sarà pieno di vino? —
13 you are to say, "Yahweh says this: Look, I shal fil al the inhabitants of this country, the kings whooccupy the throne of David, the priests, the prophets and al the citizens of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.	13 E replicherai loro: — Cosi parla il Signore: Io empirò tutti gli abitanti di questo paese, e i re della stirpe di David che siedono sopra il suo trono, e i sacerdoti e i profeti, e tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, d'ubriachezza.
14 Then I shal smash them one against the other, parents and children al together, Yahweh declares.Mercilessly, relentlessly, pitilessly, I shal destroy them." '	14 E li disperderò dividendo l'uomo dal fratello, e così il padre dai figli: non perdonerò, non farò concessioni, non avrò pietà da non disperderli.
15 Listen and pay attention, do not be proud: Yahweh is speaking!	15 State a sentire, porgete l'orecchio, non fate gli altezzosi, perchè il Signore ha parlato;
16 Give glory to Yahweh your God before the darkness comes, before your feet stumble on the darkenedmountains. You hope for light, but he wil turn it to shadow dark as death, wil change it to blackness.	16 date gloria al Signore Dio vostro, prima che vengan le tenebre, prima che i vostri piedi urtino nei monti caliginosi. Aspetterete la luce, ed egli l'avrà cangiata in ombra di morte, in oscurità profonda.
17 If you do not listen to this warning, I shal weep in secret for your pride; my eyes wil weep bitterly andstream with tears, for Yahweh's flock is being led into captivity.	17 Se voi non darete ascolto a queste cose, piangerà in segreto l'anima mia a causa della vostra superbia, piangerà dirottamente; i miei occhi si struggeranno in lacrime, perchè è stato preso il gregge del Signore.
18 Tel the king and the queen mother, 'Sit in a lower place, since your glorious crown has fal en fromyour head.	18 Di' al re e alla regina: Umiliatevi, e sedete per terra, perchè cade dal vostro capo la corona della vostra gloria.
19 The towns of the Negeb are shut off with no one to give access to them. Al Judah has been deported,deported wholesale.'	19 Le città del Mezzogiorno son chiuse, non v'è chi le apra, tutta la tribù di Giuda è stata deportata, la deportazione, è completa.
20 Raise your eyes and look at these now coming from the north. Where is the flock once entrusted toyou, the flock which was your pride?	20 Alzate gli occhi vostri e mirate, voi che venite dal Settentrione, dov'è il gregge che è stato affidato, il gregge tuo Morioso?
21 What wil you say when they come and punish you, you yourself having taught them? Against you, inthe lead, wil come your friends. Then will not anguish grip you as it grips a woman in labour?	21 Che dirai quando Dio li visiterà? Tu li hai istruiti conico di te, hai loro insegnato per la tua rovina. Non ti prenderanno forse dei dolori come quelli di donna partoriente?
22 And should you ask yourself, 'Why is al this happening to me?' it is because of your great guilt thatyour skirts have been pulled up and you have been manhandled.	22 Se tu dirai nel tuo cuore: « Perchè mi sono accadute queste cose? » — Per la moltitudine delle tue iniquità sono state scoperte le parti tue più vergognose, e contaminati i tuoi piedi.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? And you, can you do right, being soaccustomed to wrong?	23 Se è possibile che l'Etiope muti la sua pelle e il leopardo le sue macchie, potrete far del bene voi avvezzi al male.
24 'I shall scatter you like chaff on the desert wind.	24 Io li disperderò come paglia rapita dal vento nel deserto.
25 This is your share, the part allotted you, from me, Yahweh declares, because you have forgotten meand put your trust in Delusion.	25 Questa è la tua sorte, la parte che ti ho misurata — dice il Signore, — perchè ti sei dimenticata di me, ed hai confidato nella menzogna.
26 I am the one who pul s your skirts up over your face to let your shame be seen.	26 per questo io ho nudati i tuoi fianchi, sotto i tuoi occhi, e si è veduta la tua ignominia,
27 Oh! Your adulteries, your shrieks of pleasure, your vile prostitution! On the hills, in the fields, I haveseen your Horrors. Jerusalem, disaster is coming for you! How much longer till you are made clean?'	27 i tuoi adultèri, i fremiti libidinosi, il delitto della tua fornicazione: sopra i colli, in aperta campagna ho viste le tue abominazioni. Guai a te, o Gerusalemme. Non cercherai di purificarti col seguirmi? Fino a quando tarderai ancora?
