Jeremiah 13

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Yahweh said this to me, 'Go and buy a linen waistcloth and put it round your waist. But do not dip it inwater.'	1 - Il Signore mi parlò così: «Va' e acquistati una fascia di lino e mettila ai fianchi, senza risciacquarla».
2 And so, as Yahweh had ordered, I bought a waistcloth and put it round my waist.	2 Ed io acquistai la fascia, secondo la parola del Signore, e me la misi ai fianchi.
3 A second time the word of Yahweh came to me,	3 E la parola del Signore mi fu comunicata una seconda volta dicendomi:
4 'Take the waistcloth that you have bought and are wearing round your waist. Up, go to the Euphratesand hide it there in a hole in the rock.'	4 «Prendi la fascia che hai acquistata e che hai intorno ai tuoi fianchi, sorgi e va' all'Eufrate e nascondila nella fessura d'una roccia».
5 So I went and hid it by the Euphrates as Yahweh had ordered me.	5 E andai e la nascosi nell'Eufrate, come mi aveva ordinato il Signore.
6 A long time later, Yahweh said to me, 'Up, go to the Euphrates and fetch the waistcloth I ordered you tohide there.'	6 E passati che furono molti giorni, il Signore mi disse: «Sorgi, vai all'Eufrate e riprendi la fascia, che ti aveva ordinato di nascondere ivi».
7 So I went to the Euphrates, and I searched, and I took the waistcloth from the place where I had hiddenit. And there was the waistcloth ruined, no use for anything.	7 E me ne andai all'Eufrate e cavai e ripresi la fascia dal luogo in cui l'aveva nascosta, ed ecco che la fascia era marcita in guisa che non poteva più servire ad uso alcuno.
8 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	8 E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendomi:
9 'Yahweh says this, "In the same way I shal ruin the pride of Judah, the immense pride of Jerusalem.	9 «Così dice il Signore: - A questa maniera io farò marcire la superbia di Giuda e la superbia grande di Gerusalemme.
10 This evil people, these people who refuse to listen to my words, who fol ow their own stubborninclinations and run after other gods, serving and worshipping them -- this people wil become like this waistcloth,no good for anything.	10 Questo popolo pessimo, che non vuole ascoltare le mie parole, e che cammina a seconda del suo cuore depravato, ed è andato dietro agli dèi stranieri per servirli e adorarli, sarà come questa fascia che non è più buona a nulla.
11 For just as a waistcloth clings to a man's waist, so I made the whole House of Israel and the wholeHouse of Judah cling to me, Yahweh declares, to be my people, my glory, my honour and my pride. But theyhave not listened."	11 Poichè come un uomo si stringe ai fianchi una fascia, così io aveva stretto a me tutta la casa d'Israele e tutta la casa di Giuda, dice il Signore, affinchè fosse un popolo per me, per mia rinomanza, e lode e gloria, ma non ascoltarono.-
12 'You wil also say this to them, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Any jug can be fil ed with wine." And if they answer you, "Do you think we do not know that any jug can be fil ed with wine?"	12 Tu dirai anche ad essi questo detto:- Il Signore Dio d'Israele dice così: "Tutti i fiaschi si riempiranno di vino". Ed essi ti diranno: "Ben sapevamo che tutti i fiaschi si riempiranno di vino".-
13 you are to say, "Yahweh says this: Look, I shal fil al the inhabitants of this country, the kings whooccupy the throne of David, the priests, the prophets and al the citizens of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.	13 Ma tu dirai loro: - Così dice il Signore: "Ecco che io riempirò d'ubriachezza tutti gli abitanti di questa terra e i re della stirpe di David che seggono sul trono di lui e i sacerdoti e i profeti e tutti quelli che abitano in Gerusalemme.
14 Then I shal smash them one against the other, parents and children al together, Yahweh declares.Mercilessly, relentlessly, pitilessly, I shal destroy them." '	14 E li disperderò strappando il fratello dal fratello e i padri e i figli a vicenda, dice il Signore, senza pietà e senza remissione, e dal distruggerli non mi sarà di ritegno alcuna misericordia"-».
15 Listen and pay attention, do not be proud: Yahweh is speaking!	15 State a sentire e prestate ascolto e non fate gli altezzosi, perchè è il Signore che parla:
16 Give glory to Yahweh your God before the darkness comes, before your feet stumble on the darkenedmountains. You hope for light, but he wil turn it to shadow dark as death, wil change it to blackness.	16 «Date gloria al Signore Dio vostro, prima che vi colgano le tenebre; prima che i vostri piedi incespichino pei monti tenebrosi; starete aspettando la luce, ed egli ve la cangerà in ombra di morte e in caligine.
17 If you do not listen to this warning, I shal weep in secret for your pride; my eyes wil weep bitterly andstream with tears, for Yahweh's flock is being led into captivity.	17 Che se voi a questo non darete ascolto, all'anima mia non resta che piangere segretamente sulla vostra alterigia, piangerà, piangerà: gli occhi miei verseranno lacrime, perchè è stato catturato il gregge del Signore».
18 Tel the king and the queen mother, 'Sit in a lower place, since your glorious crown has fal en fromyour head.	18 «Di' al re e alla sovrana:- Scendete in basso a sedere perchè è caduta dalla vostra testa la corona della vostra gloria.
19 The towns of the Negeb are shut off with no one to give access to them. Al Judah has been deported,deported wholesale.'	19 Le città del mezzodì sono bloccate e non c'è chi le riapra; tutto Giuda in una deportazione completa è stato menato in esilio.
20 Raise your eyes and look at these now coming from the north. Where is the flock once entrusted toyou, the flock which was your pride?	20 Alzate gli occhi vostri e guardate, voi che venite dal settentrione: dov'è la greggia che era stata data a te, il tuo vistoso armento?
21 What wil you say when they come and punish you, you yourself having taught them? Against you, inthe lead, wil come your friends. Then will not anguish grip you as it grips a woman in labour?	21 E che dirai quando ti avrà visitata? ma sei tu che li hai ammaestrati a tuo danno, che li hai istruiti a repentaglio della tua testa? Che spasimi ti prenderanno allora, atroci come quelli d'una donna sopra parto!
22 And should you ask yourself, 'Why is al this happening to me?' it is because of your great guilt thatyour skirts have been pulled up and you have been manhandled.	22 Perchè mi sono sopravvenute queste cose? Per la moltitudine delle tue iniquità sono state messe a nudo le tue vergogne e violati i tuoi piedi.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? And you, can you do right, being soaccustomed to wrong?	23 Può forse cangiar pelle e un leopardo il suo variato pelo? Così potrete ancor voi cangiarvi a far bene, abituati come siete al male?
24 'I shall scatter you like chaff on the desert wind.	24 Io li disperderò come pula che dal vento è travolta nel deserto.
25 This is your share, the part allotted you, from me, Yahweh declares, because you have forgotten meand put your trust in Delusion.	25 Questa è la tua sorte, questa la parte della misura a te riserbata da me, dice il Signore, perchè ti sei dimenticata di me e hai confidato nella menzogna.
26 I am the one who pul s your skirts up over your face to let your shame be seen.	26 Onde anch'io ho voluto denudare i tuoi fianchi sotto la tua faccia e sono state messe in mostra le tue vergogne,
27 Oh! Your adulteries, your shrieks of pleasure, your vile prostitution! On the hills, in the fields, I haveseen your Horrors. Jerusalem, disaster is coming for you! How much longer till you are made clean?'	27 i tuoi adulterii, i tuoi fremiti, l'infamia della tua fornicazione; sui colli nella campagna ho visto le tue abominazioni. Guai a te, o Gerusalemme! e non cercherai di mondarti col venire dietro di me? Fino a quando tarderai ancora?».
