Isaiah 59

1 No, the arm of Yahweh is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear,	1 Ecco: la mano del Signore non s'è accorciata, da non poter salvare, nè gli s'è ingrossato l'udito, da non sentire.
2 but your guilty deeds have made a gulf between you and your God. Your sins have made him hide hisface from you so as not to hear you,	2 Son le vostre iniquità che han messa una divisione tra voi e il vostro Dio; i vostri peccati gli han fatto nasconder la faccia. E così non v'esaudisce;
3 since your hands are stained with blood and your fingers with guilt; your lips utter lies, your tonguesmurmur wickedness.	3 perchè le vostre mani sono imbrattate di sangue, le vostre dita d'iniquità, i vostri labbri dicon menzogne, la vostra lingua tien discorsi perversi.
4 No one makes upright accusations or pleads sincerely. Al rely on empty words, utter falsehood,conceive trouble and give birth to evil.	4 Nessuno chiede giustizia, nessuno giudica rettamente. Confidano nel nulla, parlano di vanità; concepirono affanno, partorirono iniquità;
5 They are hatching adders' eggs and weaving a spider's web; eat one of their eggs and you die, crushone and a viper emerges.	5 ruppero ova di aspidi, tesserono tele di ragno: chi mangia di quelle ova perirà, e da quelle covate uscirà il serpente.
6 Their webs are useless for clothing, their deeds are useless for wearing; their deeds are deeds of guilt,violence fil s their hands.	6 Le loro tele non serviran per i vestiti; non potran coprirsi col loro lavoro; le loro fatiche son fatiche sprecate: è opera d'iniquità quella che han tra le mani.
7 Their feet run to do evil; they are quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of guilt,wherever they go there is havoc and ruin.	7 I loro piedi corrono al male, si affrettano a sparger sangue innocente; i loro pensieri son pensieri vani. Dovunque passano, lasciano rovina e desolazione.
8 They do not know the way of peace, there is no fair judgement in their course, they have made theirown crooked paths, and no one treading them knows any peace.	8 Non conoscono la via della pace, non c'è giudizio nei loro passi, le loro vie sono storte: chi le batte non conosce la pace. Dio perdonerà a Israele dopo averlo punito per i suoi peccati.
9 Thus fair judgement is remote from us nor can uprightness overtake us. We looked for light and all isdarkness, for brightness and we walk in gloom.	9 Per questo s'è allontanato da noi il giudizio, e la giustizia non arriva a noi: aspettammo la luce ed ecco le tenebre, lo splendore, e camminiamo nel buio.
10 Like the blind we feel our way along walls, we grope our way like people without eyes. We stumble asthough noon were twilight, among the robust we are like the dead.	10 Come ciechi palpiamo i muri, come privi di occhi andiamo tastoni, inciampiamo in pieno meriggio, come nelle tenebre, siamo nei luoghi bui, come i morti.
11 We growl, al of us, like bears, like doves we make no sound but moaning, waiting for the fairjudgement that never comes, for salvation, but that is far away.	11 Ruggiremo tutti come orsi, come colombe gemeremo continuamente: abbiamo aspettata la giustizia, e non viene, la salvezza, e si è allontanata da noi.
12 How often we have rebel ed against you and our sins bear witness against us. Our rebellious acts areindeed with us, we are wel aware of our guilt:	12 Perchè si sono moltiplicate le nostre iniquità nel tuo cospetto, e contro di noi testimoniano i nostri peccati; perchè le nostre scelleratezze ci stan davanti, e le nostre iniquità le conosciamo.
13 rebel ion and denial of Yahweh, turning our back on our God, talking violence and revolt, murmuringlies in our heart.	13 Abbiamo peccato e mentito contro il Signore, ci siamo rivolti indietro, per non seguire il nostro Dio, per calunniare e far contro la legge. Abbiamo concepito e mandato fuori dal cuore parole di menzogna:
14 Fair judgement is driven away and saving justice stands aloof, for good faith has stumbled in thestreet and sincerity cannot enter.	14 e il giudizio s'è ritirato indietro, e la giustizia se ne sta lontana; perchè la verità è caduta sulla piazza, e l'equità non vi potè entrare.
15 Good faith has vanished; anyone abstaining from evil is victimised. Yahweh saw this and wasdispleased that there was no fair judgement.	15 La verità è dimenticata, chi si allontanò dal male fu spogliato, il Signore ha veduto, e agli occhi suoi è apparso un male, che non ci sia più giustizia.
16 He saw there was no one and wondered there was no one to intervene. So he made his own arm hismainstay, his own saving justice his support.	16 Egli ha veduto che non c'è nessuno, e s'è maravigliato che nessuno s'interponga, ed ha trovato la salvezza nel suo braccio e il conforto nella sua stessa giustizia.
17 He put on saving justice like a breastplate, on his head the helmet of salvation. He put on the clothesof vengeance like a tunic and wrapped himself in jealousy like a cloak.	17 Si è rivestito di giustizia come di corazza, ha sul suo capo l'elmo della salvezza, ha indossate le vesti della vendetta, e si è coperto di zelo come di mantello.
18 To each he repays his due, retribution to his enemies, reprisals on his foes, to the coasts and islandshe wil repay their due.	18 Come per la vendetta, come per rendere la giusta misura di sdegno ai suoi avversari, il contraccambio ai suoi nemici. Darà il loro avere alle isole,
19 From the west, Yahweh's name wil be feared, and from the east, his glory, for he will come like apent-up stream impel ed by the breath of Yahweh.	19 e quelli che sono all'occidente temeranno il nome del Signore, e quelli che stanno all'oriente la sua gloria, quando egli verrà come impetuosa fiumana spinta dallo spirito del Signore.
20 Then for Zion wil come a redeemer, for those who stop rebel ing in Jacob, declares Yahweh.	20 Quando verrà il redentore per Sion, per quei di Giacobbe che si convertono dall'iniquità, — dice il Signore. —
21 'For my part, this is my covenant with them, says Yahweh. My spirit with which I endowed you, andmy words that I have put in your mouth, wil not leave your mouth, or the mouths of your children, or the mouthsof your children's children, says Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.'	21 Questo è il mio patto con essi — dice il Signore: — il mio Spirito che è in te, le parole mie che ho poste sulla tua bocca, non cesseranno mai d'essere sulla tua bocca e sulla bocca dei tuoi figlioli e sulla bocca dei figli dei tuoi figli — dice il Signore — da ora in sempiterno.
