Isaiah 59

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 No, the arm of Yahweh is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear,	1 Mirad, no es demasiado corta la mano de Yahveh para salvar, ni es duro su oído para oír,
2 but your guilty deeds have made a gulf between you and your God. Your sins have made him hide hisface from you so as not to hear you,	2 sino que vuestras faltas os separaron a vosotros de vuestro Dios, y vuestros pecados le hicieron esconder su rostro de vosotros para no oír.
3 since your hands are stained with blood and your fingers with guilt; your lips utter lies, your tonguesmurmur wickedness.	3 Porque vuestras manos están manchadas de sangre y vuestros dedos de culpa, vuestros labios hablan falsedad y vuestra lengua habla perfidia.
4 No one makes upright accusations or pleads sincerely. Al rely on empty words, utter falsehood,conceive trouble and give birth to evil.	4 No hay quien clame con justicia ni quien juzgue con lealtad. Se confían en la nada y hablan falsedad, conciben malicia y dan a luz iniquidad.
5 They are hatching adders' eggs and weaving a spider's web; eat one of their eggs and you die, crushone and a viper emerges.	5 Hacen que rompan su cascarón las víboras y tejen telas de araña; el que come de sus huevos muere, y si son aplastados sale una víbora.
6 Their webs are useless for clothing, their deeds are useless for wearing; their deeds are deeds of guilt,violence fil s their hands.	6 Sus hilos no sirven para vestido ni con sus tejidos se pueden cubrir. Sus obras son obras inicuas y acciones violentas hay en sus manos.
7 Their feet run to do evil; they are quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of guilt,wherever they go there is havoc and ruin.	7 Sus pies corren al mal y se apresuran a verter sangre inocente. Sus proyectos son proyectos inicuos, destrucción y quebranto en sus caminos.
8 They do not know the way of peace, there is no fair judgement in their course, they have made theirown crooked paths, and no one treading them knows any peace.	8 Camino de paz no conocen, y derecho no hay en sus pasos. Tuercen sus caminos para provecho propio, ninguno de los que por ellos pasan conoce la paz.
9 Thus fair judgement is remote from us nor can uprightness overtake us. We looked for light and all isdarkness, for brightness and we walk in gloom.	9 Por eso se alejó de nosotros el derecho y no nos alcanzó la justicia. Esperábamos la luz, y hubo tinieblas, la claridad, y anduvimos en oscuridad.
10 Like the blind we feel our way along walls, we grope our way like people without eyes. We stumble asthough noon were twilight, among the robust we are like the dead.	10 Palpamos la pared como los ciegos y como los que no tienen ojos vacilamos. Tropezamos al mediodía como si fuera al anochecer, y habitamos entre los sanos como los muertos.
11 We growl, al of us, like bears, like doves we make no sound but moaning, waiting for the fairjudgement that never comes, for salvation, but that is far away.	11 Todos nosotros gruñimos como osos y zureamos sin cesar como palomas. Esperamos el derecho y no hubo, la salvación, y se alejó de nosotros.
12 How often we have rebel ed against you and our sins bear witness against us. Our rebellious acts areindeed with us, we are wel aware of our guilt:	12 Porque fueron muchas nuestras rebeldías delante de ti, y nuestros pecados testifican contra nosotros, pues nuestras rebeldías nos acompañan y conocemos nuestras culpas:
13 rebel ion and denial of Yahweh, turning our back on our God, talking violence and revolt, murmuringlies in our heart.	13 rebelarse y renegar de Yahveh, apartarse de seguir a nuestro Dios, hablar de opresión y revueltas, concebir y musitar en el corazón palabras engañosas.
14 Fair judgement is driven away and saving justice stands aloof, for good faith has stumbled in thestreet and sincerity cannot enter.	14 Porque ha sido rechazado el juicio y la justicia queda lejos. Porque la verdad en la plaza ha tropezado y la rectitud no puede entrar.
15 Good faith has vanished; anyone abstaining from evil is victimised. Yahweh saw this and wasdispleased that there was no fair judgement.	15 La verdad se echa en falta y el que se aparta del mal es despojado. Lo vio Yahveh y pareció mal a sus ojos que no hubiera derecho.
16 He saw there was no one and wondered there was no one to intervene. So he made his own arm hismainstay, his own saving justice his support.	16 Vio que no había nadie y se maravilló de que no hubiera intercesor. Entonces le salvó su brazo y su justicia le sostuvo.
17 He put on saving justice like a breastplate, on his head the helmet of salvation. He put on the clothesof vengeance like a tunic and wrapped himself in jealousy like a cloak.	17 Se puso la justicia como coraza y el casco de salvación en su cabeza. Se puso como túnica vestidos de venganza y se vistió el celo como un manto.
18 To each he repays his due, retribution to his enemies, reprisals on his foes, to the coasts and islandshe wil repay their due.	18 Según los merecimientos así pagará: ira para sus opresores y represalia para sus enemigos. Dará a las islas su merecido.
19 From the west, Yahweh's name wil be feared, and from the east, his glory, for he will come like apent-up stream impel ed by the breath of Yahweh.	19 Temerán desde Occidente el nombre de Yahveh y desde el Oriente verán su gloria, pues vendrá como un torrente encajonado contra el que irrumpe con fuerza el soplo de Yahveh.
20 Then for Zion wil come a redeemer, for those who stop rebel ing in Jacob, declares Yahweh.	20 Vendrá a Sión para rescatar, a aquellos de Jacob que se conviertan de su rebeldía. - Oráculo de Yahveh -.
21 'For my part, this is my covenant with them, says Yahweh. My spirit with which I endowed you, andmy words that I have put in your mouth, wil not leave your mouth, or the mouths of your children, or the mouthsof your children's children, says Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.'	21 Cuanto a mí, esta es la alianza con ellos, dice Yahveh. Mi espíritu que ha venido sobre ti y mis palabras que he puesto en tus labios no caerán de tu boca ni de la boca de tu descendencia ni de la boca de la descendencia de tu descendencia, dice Yahveh, desde ahora y para siempre.
