1 No, the arm of Yahweh is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear,	1 Ecco che la man del Signore non è accorciata, talmente che egli non possa salvare: né si è a lui ingrossato udito si, ch'ei non senta:
2 but your guilty deeds have made a gulf between you and your God. Your sins have made him hide hisface from you so as not to hear you,	2 Ma le vostre iniquità sono quelle, che han messa divisione tra voi, e il vostro Dio, e i peccati vostri hanno ascosa a voi la sua faccia, ond'ei non vi esaudisse.
3 since your hands are stained with blood and your fingers with guilt; your lips utter lies, your tonguesmurmur wickedness.	3 Perocché le mani vostre son' imbrattate di sangue, e le vostre dita d'iniquità: le vostre labbra parlano menzogna, e la vostra lingua discorre d'iniquità.
4 No one makes upright accusations or pleads sincerely. Al rely on empty words, utter falsehood,conceive trouble and give birth to evil.	4 Non v'ha chi la giustizia chiami a consiglio, non havvi, chi giudichi con verità: ma nel nulla confidano, e nella bocca hanno le vanità: concepirono affanno, e partorirono iniquità.
5 They are hatching adders' eggs and weaving a spider's web; eat one of their eggs and you die, crushone and a viper emerges.	5 Hanno fatto schiuder le ova degli aspidi, e hanno tessute tele di ragni: chi mangerà di quelle ova, perirà: e se a covare si pongano, ne scapperà fuori un basilisco.
6 Their webs are useless for clothing, their deeds are useless for wearing; their deeds are deeds of guilt,violence fil s their hands.	6 Le loro tele non saran buone a far vesti, né eglino co' lavori loro potranno coprirsi: le fatiche loro sono fatiche inutili; perchè opra d'iniquità è quella, che hanno nelle mani.
7 Their feet run to do evil; they are quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of guilt,wherever they go there is havoc and ruin.	7 I loro piedi corrono al male, e si affrettano a spargere il sangue innocente: i loro pensieri son pensieri buoni a nulla: dovunque passano, lascian desolazione, ed affanno.
8 They do not know the way of peace, there is no fair judgement in their course, they have made theirown crooked paths, and no one treading them knows any peace.	8 Non conoscon la via della pace, e i loro passi non son diretti dalla giustizia: le loro vie sono storte; e chiunque le batte, non sa, che sia pace.
9 Thus fair judgement is remote from us nor can uprightness overtake us. We looked for light and all isdarkness, for brightness and we walk in gloom.	9 Per questo si è allontanato da noi il giudicio, e non arriva sino a noi la giustizia: aspettammo la luce, ed ecco le tenebre; il chiarore del dì, e camminiamo all'oscuro.
10 Like the blind we feel our way along walls, we grope our way like people without eyes. We stumble asthough noon were twilight, among the robust we are like the dead.	10 Come ciechi ci attacchiamo alla muraglia, e come privi d'occhi camminiamo a tastoni: inciampiamo nel bel mezzogiorno come all'oscuro, siam come i morti ne' luoghi bui.
11 We growl, al of us, like bears, like doves we make no sound but moaning, waiting for the fairjudgement that never comes, for salvation, but that is far away.	11 Ruggirem tutti noi come orsi, e gemeremo, sospirando come colombe. Noi aspettammo la giustizia, e non viene, la salute, ed ella si è dilungata da noi;
12 How often we have rebel ed against you and our sins bear witness against us. Our rebellious acts areindeed with us, we are wel aware of our guilt:	12 Perocché le iniquità nostre si sono moltiplicate nel tuo cospetto, e i peccati nostri depongono contro di noi; conciossiachè le nostre scelleratezze sono con noi, e conosciamo le nostre iniquità.
13 rebel ion and denial of Yahweh, turning our back on our God, talking violence and revolt, murmuringlies in our heart.	13 Abbiam peccato, e mentito al Signore, e ci siamo rivolti indietro, per non seguire il nostro Dio, per calunniare, e far ingiustizie: noi concepimmo, e dal cuore mandammo fuori parole di menzogna.
14 Fair judgement is driven away and saving justice stands aloof, for good faith has stumbled in thestreet and sincerity cannot enter.	14 E il giudizio si è ritirato indietro, e lungi se ne sta la giustizia: perocché è andata per terra nel foro la verità, e la rettitudine non può porvi piede.
15 Good faith has vanished; anyone abstaining from evil is victimised. Yahweh saw this and wasdispleased that there was no fair judgement.	15 Ed è andata in obblio la verità; e chi dal male si allontanò, fu oppresso: e vide ciò il Signore, e strana cosa a lui parve, che giustizia non fosse più:
16 He saw there was no one and wondered there was no one to intervene. So he made his own arm hismainstay, his own saving justice his support.	16 E vide, che uomo non è, e n'ebbe stupore, perchè non è chi s'interponga, ed ei nel suo braccio trovò la salute, e la giustizia di lui ella stessa lo confortò.
17 He put on saving justice like a breastplate, on his head the helmet of salvation. He put on the clothesof vengeance like a tunic and wrapped himself in jealousy like a cloak.	17 Egli si è vestito della giustizia come di una corazza, ed ha sul suo capo il cimiero della salute: il vestimento ond'ei si ammanta è la vendetta, e per pallio, che lo circonda, ha lo zelo.
18 To each he repays his due, retribution to his enemies, reprisals on his foes, to the coasts and islandshe wil repay their due.	18 Come per far vendetta, come per rendere giusta misura di sdegno a' suoi avversarj, e il contraccambio a' suoi nemici: ei darà alle isole la lor mercede.
19 From the west, Yahweh's name wil be feared, and from the east, his glory, for he will come like apent-up stream impel ed by the breath of Yahweh.	19 E temeranno il nome del Signore quegli, che stanno all'occaso; e la gloria di lui que', che stanno all'oriente, allorché egli verrà come impetuosa fiumana, spinta dallo spirito del Signore.
20 Then for Zion wil come a redeemer, for those who stop rebel ing in Jacob, declares Yahweh.	20 E allorché verrà il Redentore per Sionne, e per quei di Giacobbe, che si convertono dall'iniquità, dice il Signore.
21 'For my part, this is my covenant with them, says Yahweh. My spirit with which I endowed you, andmy words that I have put in your mouth, wil not leave your mouth, or the mouths of your children, or the mouthsof your children's children, says Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.'	21 E questa è la mia alleanza con essi, dice il Signore: Lo Spirito mio, che è in te, e le parole mie, le quali io ho poste in bocca a te, non si dipartiranno dalla tua bocca, e dalla bocca de' tuoi figliuoli, e dalla bocca de' figliuoli de' tuoi figliuoli da questo punto fino in sempiterno.
