Isaiah 59

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 No, the arm of Yahweh is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear,	1 Ecco, non è troppo corta la mano del Signore per salvare, né il suo orecchio troppo duro per udire.
2 but your guilty deeds have made a gulf between you and your God. Your sins have made him hide hisface from you so as not to hear you,	2 Piuttosto le vostre iniquità hanno formato una separazione tra voi e il vostro Dio, i vostri peccati hanno fatto nascondere la sua faccia fra voi, così che non vi ascolta.
3 since your hands are stained with blood and your fingers with guilt; your lips utter lies, your tonguesmurmur wickedness.	3 Sì, le vostre palme si sono macchiate di sangue e le vostre dita di crimini; le vostre labbra proferiscono la menzogna e le vostre lingue sussurrano iniquità.
4 No one makes upright accusations or pleads sincerely. Al rely on empty words, utter falsehood,conceive trouble and give birth to evil.	4 Nessuno muove causa giustamente e nessuno giudica con verità; si confida nel nulla e si dice il falso, si concepisce il male e si genera l'iniquità.
5 They are hatching adders' eggs and weaving a spider's web; eat one of their eggs and you die, crushone and a viper emerges.	5 Rompono le uova delle vipere e tessono tele di ragno; chi mangia di quelle uova, muore; se viene schiacciato, ne esce una vipera.
6 Their webs are useless for clothing, their deeds are useless for wearing; their deeds are deeds of guilt,violence fil s their hands.	6 Le loro tele non diventeranno vestiti e non si copriranno con i loro manufatti. Le loro opere sono opere di iniquità e nelle loro mani c'è il frutto della violenza.
7 Their feet run to do evil; they are quick to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are thoughts of guilt,wherever they go there is havoc and ruin.	7 I loro piedi corrono verso il male e si affrettano a versare il sangue innocente; i loro pensieri sono pensieri di iniquità, sui loro sentieri c'è rovina e distruzione.
8 They do not know the way of peace, there is no fair judgement in their course, they have made theirown crooked paths, and no one treading them knows any peace.	8 Non conoscono il cammino della pace e non vi è rettitudine nelle loro vie; i loro sentieri se li rendono tortuosi e chi marcia in essi non conosce la pace.
9 Thus fair judgement is remote from us nor can uprightness overtake us. We looked for light and all isdarkness, for brightness and we walk in gloom.	9 Perciò il diritto è lontano da noi e la giustizia non arriva fino a noi. Speravamo nella luce, ecco invece le tenebre; nello splendore, invece camminiamo nell'oscurità.
10 Like the blind we feel our way along walls, we grope our way like people without eyes. We stumble asthough noon were twilight, among the robust we are like the dead.	10 Come ciechi, tastiamo la parete; come privi di occhi, palpiamo; inciampiamo a mezzogiorno come al crepuscolo, in pieno vigore siamo come morti.
11 We growl, al of us, like bears, like doves we make no sound but moaning, waiting for the fairjudgement that never comes, for salvation, but that is far away.	11 Tutti noi urliamo come orsi e come colombe non cessiamo di gemere; speravamo nel diritto, ma non c'è; nella salvezza, ma essa è lontana da noi.
12 How often we have rebel ed against you and our sins bear witness against us. Our rebellious acts areindeed with us, we are wel aware of our guilt:	12 Poiché sono molti i nostri delitti davanti a te e i nostri peccati testimoniano contro di noi; poiché i nostri delitti ci sono presenti e le nostre colpe noi le conosciamo:
13 rebel ion and denial of Yahweh, turning our back on our God, talking violence and revolt, murmuringlies in our heart.	13 ribellarsi e rinnegare il Signore, ritirarsi dalla sequela del nostro Dio, parlare di oppressione e ribellione, concepire e mormorare nel cuore parole menzognere.
14 Fair judgement is driven away and saving justice stands aloof, for good faith has stumbled in thestreet and sincerity cannot enter.	14 Il giudizio è messo in disparte e la giustizia se ne sta lontana, perché la verità incespica sulla piazza e la rettitudine non può avervi accesso.
15 Good faith has vanished; anyone abstaining from evil is victimised. Yahweh saw this and wasdispleased that there was no fair judgement.	15 Così la verità è scomparsa; chi evita il male, viene depredato. Il Signore l'ha visto, e parve male ai suoi occhi che non ci sia più diritto;
16 He saw there was no one and wondered there was no one to intervene. So he made his own arm hismainstay, his own saving justice his support.	16 vide che non c'era nessuno, si meravigliò che nessuno interveniva. Allora il suo braccio portò aiuto e la sua giustizia lo sostenne.
17 He put on saving justice like a breastplate, on his head the helmet of salvation. He put on the clothesof vengeance like a tunic and wrapped himself in jealousy like a cloak.	17 Si rivestì della giustizia come di una corazza e sul capo vi è l'elmo della salvezza, indossò gli abiti della vendetta e si cinse di gelosia come di un mantello.
18 To each he repays his due, retribution to his enemies, reprisals on his foes, to the coasts and islandshe wil repay their due.	18 Egli retribuisce secondo l'operato, sdegno ai suoi avversari, castigo ai suoi nemici; alle isole renderà il castigo.
19 From the west, Yahweh's name wil be feared, and from the east, his glory, for he will come like apent-up stream impel ed by the breath of Yahweh.	19 In occidente si venererà il nome del Signore e in oriente la sua gloria, poiché egli verrà come un torrente irruente sospinto dal vento del Signore.
20 Then for Zion wil come a redeemer, for those who stop rebel ing in Jacob, declares Yahweh.	20 Verrà per Sion come redentore e per i convertiti dal peccato in Giacobbe. Oracolo del Signore.
21 'For my part, this is my covenant with them, says Yahweh. My spirit with which I endowed you, andmy words that I have put in your mouth, wil not leave your mouth, or the mouths of your children, or the mouthsof your children's children, says Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.'	21 "Quanto a me, questo è il mio patto con essi, dice il Signore: il mio spirito che è sopra di te e le mie parole che ho posto nella tua bocca non recederanno dalla tua bocca né dalla bocca della tua discendenza né dalla bocca della discendenza della discendenza, dice il Signore, da ora e per sempre".
