Isaiah 52

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Awake, awake! Clothe yourself in strength, Zion. Put on your finest clothes, Jerusalem, Holy City; forthe uncircumcised and the unclean will enter you no more.	1 Sorgi, sorgi, rivestiti della tua forza, o Sion, vestiti a festa, o Gerusalemme, città del Santo; perchè l'incirconciso e l'immondo non ti attraverseranno più.
2 Shake off your dust; get up, captive Jerusalem! The chains have fal en from your neck, captivedaughter of Jerusalem!	2 Scuoti la tua polvere; sorgi; mettiti a sedere, o Gerusalemme, scuoti dal tuo collo il giogo, o schiava figlia di Sion;
3 For Yahweh says this, 'You were sold for nothing; you wil be redeemed without money.'	3 perchè così parla il Signore: « Senza prezzo siete stati venduti, e senza danaro sarete riscattati.
4 For the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Long ago my people went to Egypt and settled there as aliens; final yAssyria oppressed them for no reason.	4 Ecco infatti quanto dice il Signore Dio: — Da principio il mio popolo discese in Egitto per starvi come forestiero, poi, senza alcun motivo, lo maltrattò Assur.
5 So now what is to be done,' declares Yahweh, 'since my people have been carried off for nothing, theirmasters howl in triumph,' declares Yahweh, 'and my name is held in contempt all day, every day?	5 Ed ora che ci faccio io qui — dice il Signore — dopo che il mio popolo è stato menato schiavo senza ragione? I suoi padroni l'opprimono — dice il Signore — e di continuo, per tutto il giorno è bestemmiato il mio nome.
6 Because of this my people wil know my name, because of this they will know when the day comes,that it is I saying, Here I am!'	6 Per questo il mio popolo conoscerà il mio nome, in quel giorno, perchè io stesso, quello che parlava, ecco sono presente ».
7 How beautiful on the mountains, are the feet of the messenger announcing peace, of the messenger ofgood news, who proclaims salvation and says to Zion, 'Your God is king!'	7 Quanto son belli, sui monti, i piedi del messaggero, del messaggero di pace, di colui che annunzia la felicità e predica la salute, di colui che dice a Sion: « Regnerà il tuo Dio ».
8 The voices of your watchmen! Now they raise their voices, shouting for joy together, for with their owneyes they have seen Yahweh returning to Zion.	8 Voce delle tue sentinelle: esse alzano la voce, per cantare insieme inni di lode, perchè vedranno coi loro occhi quando il Signore farà tornare Sion.
9 Break into shouts together, shouts of joy, you ruins of Jerusalem; for Yahweh has consoled his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.	9 Rallegratevi, unitevi a cantare inni, o rovine di Gerusalemme, perchè il Signore ha consolato il suo popolo, ha redenta Gerusalemme.
10 Yahweh has bared his holy arm for al the nations to see, and al the ends of the earth have seen thesalvation of our God.	10 Il Signore ha pronto il suo santo braccio davanti agli occhi di tutte le nazioni: tutte le parti della terra vedranno la salvezza del nostro Dio.
11 Go away, go away, leave that place, do not touch anything unclean. Get out of her, purify yourselves,you who carry Yahweh's vessels!	11 Partite, partite, uscite di là, non toccate ciò che è impuro: uscitene di mezzo, purificatevi, voi che portate i vasi del Signore.
12 For you are not to hurry away, you are not to leave like fugitives. No, Yahweh marches at your headand the God of Israel is your rearguard.	12 Voi non partirete in disordine, non andrete via fuggendo, perchè andrà dinanzi a voi il Signore, vi adunerà il Dio d'Israele.
13 Look, my servant will prosper, wil grow great, wil rise to great heights.	13 Ecco che il mio servitore sarà intelligente, sarà esaltato, inalzato e molto sublime.
14 As many people were aghast at him -- he was so inhumanly disfigured that he no longer looked like aman-	14 Come molti si son maravigliati di te! Sarà disprezzato il suo aspetto tra gli uomini, e la sua faccia tra i figli degli uomini.
15 so many nations wil be astonished and kings wil stay tight-lipped before him, seeing what had neverbeen told them, learning what they had not heard before.	15 Egli aspergerà molte genti, dinanzi a lui i re staranno a bocca chiusa, perchè lo vedranno, e nessuno aveva loro raccontato di lui, lo contempleranno, e non ne avevan sentito parlare.
