Isaiah 50

1 Thus says Yahweh: Where is your mother's writ of divorce by which I repudiated her? Or to which ofmy creditors have I sold you? Look, you have been sold for your own misdeeds, your mother was repudiated foryour acts of rebel ion.	1 Queste cose dice il Signore: « Che è questo libello di ripudio della vostra madre, col quale l'ho mandata via? o chi è il mio creditore al quale vi ho venduti? ecco per le vostre iniquità siete stati venduti, e per le vostre scelleratezze ho ripudiata la vostra madre.
2 Why was there no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I cal ed? Is my hand too shortto redeem? Have I not strength to save? Look, with a threat I can dry the sea, and turn rivers to desert; the fishin them go rotten for want of water and die of thirst.	2 Io venni, e nonv'era nessuno, io chiamai, e nessuno rispose. E' forse, accorciata e divenuta piccola la mia mano, chè non possa riscattarvi, e può essere che non abbia forza per liberarvi? ecco, colle mie sgridate ridurrò a deserto il mare, metterò a secco fiumi; senz'acqua i pesci marciranno e periranno di sete.
3 I dress the heavens in black, I cover them in sackcloth.	3 Vestirò a nero i cieli, e li coprirò di cilizio.
4 Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple's tongue, for me to know how to give a word of comfort to theweary. Morning by morning he makes my ear alert to listen like a disciple.	4 Il Signore mi ha donato una lingua erudita, affinchè sostenga colla parola gli stanchi, egli mi tiene erette ogni mattina, mi tiene erette le orecchie, affinchè l'a­AIA li 2 scolti come maestro.
5 Lord Yahweh has opened my ear and I have not resisted, I have not turned away.	5 Il Signore Dio m'ha aperto l'orecchio, ed io non resisto, non mi ritiro indietro.
6 I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have notturned my face away from insult and spitting.	6 Ho abbandonato il mio corpo ai percotitori, le mie guance a chi mi strappa la barba, non ho allontanata la faccia da chi mi oltraggiava, da chi mi sputacchiava.
7 Lord Yahweh comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me, this is why I have set my facelike flint and know that I shal not be put to shame.	7 Il Signore Dio è mio aiuto, per questo non sono stato confuso, per questo ho ridotta la mia faccia come pietra durissima, e so di non rimaner confuso.
8 He who grants me saving justice is near! Who wil bring a case against me? Let us appear in courttogether! Who has a case against me? Let him approach me!	8 Mi sta vicino colui che mi giustifica: chi mi contraddirà? Presentiamoci insieme! Chi è il mio avversario? Si accosti a me!
9 Look, Lord Yahweh is coming to my help! Who dares condemn me? Look at them, al fal ing apart likemoth-eaten clothes!	9 Ecco, il Signore Dio è mio aiuto: chi è che possa condannarmi? Ecco tutti saran consumati come un vestito, li mangerà la tignola.
10 Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant's voice? Which of you walks in darkness andsees no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God!	10 Chi è tra voi che tema il Signore e ascolti la voce del suo servo? Chi cammina nelle tenebre ed è senza luce speri nel nome del Signore e si appoggi al suo Dio.
11 Look, al you who light a fire and arm yourselves with firebrands, walk by the light of your fire and thefirebrands you have kindled! This is what you will get from me: you wil lie down in torment!	11 Ecco, voi tutti che accendete il fuoco, ravvolti nelle fiamme, camminate al lume del vostro fuoco, tra le fiamme da voi accese. Questo è stato fatto a voi dalla mia mano, e voi dormirete in mezzo ai dolori.
