Isaiah 50

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Thus says Yahweh: Where is your mother's writ of divorce by which I repudiated her? Or to which ofmy creditors have I sold you? Look, you have been sold for your own misdeeds, your mother was repudiated foryour acts of rebel ion.	1 Così parla il Signore: "Dov'è la lettera di ripudio della vostra madre, con la quale io l'ho ripudiata? O a quale dei miei creditori io vi ho venduto? Ecco, a causa delle vostre iniquità voi siete stati venduti, a causa delle vostre trasgressioni la madre vostra è stata ripudiata.
2 Why was there no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I cal ed? Is my hand too shortto redeem? Have I not strength to save? Look, with a threat I can dry the sea, and turn rivers to desert; the fishin them go rotten for want of water and die of thirst.	2 Perché, quando sono venuto, non c'era nessuno? Perché, quando ho chiamato, nessuno rispose? Forse che la mia mano è troppo corta per redimere, non ho io la forza per salvare? Ecco, con la minaccia io prosciugo il mare e rendo i fiumi un deserto; i loro pesci imputridiscono per mancanza d'acqua e muoiono di sete.
3 I dress the heavens in black, I cover them in sackcloth.	3 Rivestirò i cieli di nero, e metterò loro un sacco per manto".
4 Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple's tongue, for me to know how to give a word of comfort to theweary. Morning by morning he makes my ear alert to listen like a disciple.	4 "Il Signore Dio mi diede una lingua di discepolo, perché io sappia sostenere lo stanco con la parola. Egli risveglia il mio orecchio, perché io ascolti come fanno i discepoli.
5 Lord Yahweh has opened my ear and I have not resisted, I have not turned away.	5 Il Signore Dio mi aprì l'orecchio e io non sono stato ribelle, non mi sono tirato indietro.
6 I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have notturned my face away from insult and spitting.	6 Presentai il mio dorso a quelli che mi percuotevano, le mie guance a quelli che mi strappavano la barba. Non nascosi la mia faccia agli oltraggi e agli sputi.
7 Lord Yahweh comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me, this is why I have set my facelike flint and know that I shal not be put to shame.	7 Il Signore Dio mi prestò soccorso, per cui non sono confuso; perciò resi la mia faccia come una pietra, e so che non sarò confuso.
8 He who grants me saving justice is near! Who wil bring a case against me? Let us appear in courttogether! Who has a case against me? Let him approach me!	8 E' vicino colui che mi rende giustizia; chi contenderà con me? Presentiamoci insieme! Chi è il mio accusatore? Si accosti a me!
9 Look, Lord Yahweh is coming to my help! Who dares condemn me? Look at them, al fal ing apart likemoth-eaten clothes!	9 Ecco, il Signore Dio mi presta soccorso; chi mi dichiarerà colpevole? Ecco, tutti si logorano come una veste, la tignola li divorerà".
10 Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant's voice? Which of you walks in darkness andsees no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God!	10 Chi tra voi teme il Signore e ascolta la voce del suo servo, chi cammina nelle tenebre senza alcuna luce, confidi nel nome del Signore e si appoggi nel suo Dio!
11 Look, al you who light a fire and arm yourselves with firebrands, walk by the light of your fire and thefirebrands you have kindled! This is what you will get from me: you wil lie down in torment!	11 Ecco, voi tutti che accendete un fuoco, che attizzate braci ardenti, andate nelle fiamme del vostro fuoco, e tra i tizzoni che avete fatto bruciare! Dalla mia mano vi è capitato ciò, nel tormento giacerete.
