Isaiah 50

1 Thus says Yahweh: Where is your mother's writ of divorce by which I repudiated her? Or to which ofmy creditors have I sold you? Look, you have been sold for your own misdeeds, your mother was repudiated foryour acts of rebel ion.	1 Queste cose dice il Signore: Che libello di ripudio è quello, con cui ho ripudiato la vostra madre? o chi è quel mio creditore, a cui io vi ho venduti? ecco, che voi per le vostre scelleraggini siete stati venduti, e per le vostre scelleraggini ho io ripudiata la madre vostra.
2 Why was there no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I cal ed? Is my hand too shortto redeem? Have I not strength to save? Look, with a threat I can dry the sea, and turn rivers to desert; the fishin them go rotten for want of water and die of thirst.	2 Perocché io venni, e anima non vi era: chiamai, e non fu chi mi ascoltasse. E ella forse accorciata, ed è divenuta piccola la mano mia, talmente che io non possa redimere? o non è in me possanza per liberare? Ecco, che alla mia minaccia renderò deserto il mare, asciugherò i fiumi: marciranno senz'acqua i pesci, e periranno di sete.
3 I dress the heavens in black, I cover them in sackcloth.	3 Vestirò a nero i cieli, e li cuoprirò di cilicio.
4 Lord Yahweh has given me a disciple's tongue, for me to know how to give a word of comfort to theweary. Morning by morning he makes my ear alert to listen like a disciple.	4 Il Signore mi ha dato una lingua erudita, affinchè io sappia sostenere colla parola i caduti: egli al mattino mi tocca, tocca a me al mattino le orecchie, affinchè io l'ascolti come maestro.
5 Lord Yahweh has opened my ear and I have not resisted, I have not turned away.	5 Il Signore Dio mi ha aperta l'orecchia, ed io non contraddico: non mi tiro indietro.
6 I have offered my back to those who struck me, my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; I have notturned my face away from insult and spitting.	6 Ho dato il corpo mio a que', che mi percuotevano, e le mie guancie a que, che mi strappavan la barba: non ho ascoso il mio volto a quegli, che mi schernivano, e mi sputacchiavano.
7 Lord Yahweh comes to my help, this is why insult has not touched me, this is why I have set my facelike flint and know that I shal not be put to shame.	7 Il Signore Dio è mio aiuto, per questo io non son restato confuso: per questo ho renduta la mia faccia come selce durissima, e so, che io non rimarrò confuso.
8 He who grants me saving justice is near! Who wil bring a case against me? Let us appear in courttogether! Who has a case against me? Let him approach me!	8 Mi sta dappresso colui, che mi giustifica, chi sarà mio contraddittore? Stiamo insieme in giudizio, chi è il mio avversario? si accosti a me.
9 Look, Lord Yahweh is coming to my help! Who dares condemn me? Look at them, al fal ing apart likemoth-eaten clothes!	9 Ecco, che il Signore Dio è mio aiuto, chi è, che mi condanni? Ecco, che tutti (questi) saran consunti come un vestimento, il verme li mangerà.
10 Which of you fears Yahweh and listens to his servant's voice? Which of you walks in darkness andsees no light? Let him trust in the name of Yahweh and lean on his God!	10 Chi è tra voi, che tema il signore, e ascolti la voce del suo servo? Chi cammina nelle tenebre, ed è senza luce, speri nel nome del Signore, e si appoggi al suo Dio.
11 Look, al you who light a fire and arm yourselves with firebrands, walk by the light of your fire and thefirebrands you have kindled! This is what you will get from me: you wil lie down in torment!	11 Voi tutti però, ecco, che accendete fuoco, siete in mezzo alle fiamme, camminate al lume del vostro fuoco, e delle fiamme accese da voi: dalla mano mia è stato a voi fatto questo; voi dormirete in mezzo ai dolori.
