Isaiah 24

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Matos Soares
1 See how Yahweh lays the earth waste, makes it a desert, buckles its surface, scatters its inhabitants,	1 Eis que o Senhor devastará toda a terra, desolá-la-á, desfigurará a sua face e dispersará os seus habitantes.
2 priest and people alike, master and slave, mistress and maid, seller and buyer, lender and borrower,creditor and debtor.	2 Como for (tratado) o povo, assim será o sacerdote; como o criado, assim o seu amo; como a serva, assim a sua senhora; como o que compra, assim aquele que vende; como o que dá a juro, assim o que toma emprestado; como o credor, assim o devedor.
3 Ravaged, ravaged the earth wil be, despoiled, despoiled, for Yahweh has uttered this word.	3 A terra será inteiramente devastada e entregue ao saque, porque o Senhor assim o decretou.
4 The earth is mourning, pining away, the pick of earth's people are withering away.	4 A terra desfaz-se em lágrimas, consome-se; desfalece e perece o mundo, é abatido o escol do povo da terra.
5 The earth is defiled by the feet of its inhabitants, for they have transgressed the laws, violated thedecree, broken the everlasting covenant.	5 A terra está profanada pelos seus habitantes, porque transgrediram as leis, violaram o direito, romperam a aliança eterna.
6 That is why the curse has consumed the earth and its inhabitants pay the penalty, that is why theinhabitants of the earth have been burnt up and few people are left.	6 Por esta causa a maldição devora a terra, e são castigados os seus habitantes; por isso são consumidos os que a habitam, e reduzidos a um pequeno número.
7 The new wine is mourning, the vine is withering away, the once merry-hearted are sighing.	7 Chora o mosto, enfraquece a vide, gemem todos os que tinham alegria no coração.
8 The cheerful sound of tambourines is silent, the sound of revel ing is over, the cheerful sound of theharp is silent.	8 Cessou o regozijo dos tambores, acabaram os gritos de contentamento, calou-se o som alegre da cítara.
9 No more wil they sing over their wine, liquor wil taste bitter to the drinker.	9 Não bebem vinho cantando árias; a bebida é amarga para os que a bebem.
10 The city of nothingness is in ruins, every house is shut, no one can enter.	10 A cidade da confusão está demolida, fechadas se encontram todas as suas casas, não entrando nelas pessoa alguma.
11 People shout in the streets to try to get wine; al joy has vanished, happiness has been banished fromthe country.	11 Nas ruas há clamor por causa (da falta) do vinho; toda a alegria cessou; o prazer desapareceu da terra.
12 Nothing but rubble in the city, the gate has col apsed in ruins.	12 Ficou na cidade a solidão, e as portas quebradas, em ruínas.
13 For at the heart of earth's life, among the peoples, it is as at the beating of the olive trees, as at thegleaning of the grapes when the grape harvest is over.	13 Verificar-se-á no meio da terra, no meio dos povos, o mesmo que, quando, varejada a oliveira, ficam umas poucas de azeitonas na árvore, e alguns rabiscos, depois de acabada a vindima.
14 They raise their voices, shouting for joy, in Yahweh's honour they shout from the west.	14 Estes (poucos que salvos ficaram) levantam a sua voz, cantam louvores; soltam aclamações, do lado do mar, à majestade do Senhor;
15 'Yes, in the east, give glory to Yahweh, in the islands of the sea, to the name of Yahweh, God ofIsrael!'	15 Glorificai ao Senhor nas regiões da aurora, nas ilhas do mar, (celebrai) o nome do Senhor Deus de Israel.
16 We have heard psalms from the remotest parts of earth, 'Glory to the Upright One!' But I thought,'What an ordeal, what an ordeal! What misery for me!' The traitors have betrayed, the traitors have acted mosttreacherously.	16 Desde as extremidades da terra, ouvimos cantar: Glória ao justo. Mas eu disse: Ai de mim! Ai de mim! Ai! Os prevaricadores prevaricam, e prevaricaram com prevaricação própria de contumazes.
17 Fear, the pit and the snare for you, inhabitants of the city!	17 Para ti, que és habitante da terra, estão reservados o susto, a cova e o laço.
18 And whoever flees from the cry of fear wil fal into the pit, and whoever climbs out of the pit will becaught in the snare. Yes, the sluice-gates above are open, the foundations of the earth are quaking.	18 E acontecerá que o que fugir da voz espantosa cairá na cova; e o que se desembaraçar da cova ficará preso no laço, porque as cataratas do alto serão abertas, e serão abalados os fundamentos da terra.
19 A cracking, the earth cracks open, a jolting, the earth gives a jolt, a lurching, the earth lurchesbackwards and forwards.	19 A terra é despedaçada com violência, desconjuntada com fragor;
20 The earth wil reel to and fro like a drunkard, it will be shaken like a shanty; so heavy wil be its sin onit, it wil fal , never to rise again.	20 é agitada e cambaleia como um embriagado, vacila como a tenda que se arma para passar uma noite; sobre ela pesa a própria iniquidade; cairá e não tornará a levantar-se.
21 When that day comes, Yahweh wil punish the armies of the sky above and on earth the kings of theearth;	21 Naquele dia o Senhor visitará a milícia do céu lá no alto, e os reis do mundo, sobre a terra.
22 they wil be herded together, herded together like prisoners in a dungeon and shut up in gaol, and,after long years, punished.	22 Serão atados todos juntos, no fosso, encerrados no cárcere, e, depois de muitos dias, serão visitados (ou castigados).
23 The moon will be confused and the sun ashamed, for Yahweh Sabaoth is king on Mount Zion and inJerusalem, and the Glory will radiate on their elders.	23 A lua se tornará vermelha, o sol empalidecerá, quando o Senhor dos exércitos reinar no monte Sião e em Jerusalém, quando for glorificado na presença dos seus anciães.
