Isaiah 14

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Yahweh wil have pity on Jacob, he wil choose Israel once more and resettle them on their native soil.Foreigners will join them, attaching themselves to the House of Jacob.	1 Perciocchè il Signore avrà pietà di Giacobbe, ed eleggerà ancora Israele, e li farà riposar sopra la lor terra; e gli stranieri si aggiungeranno con loro, e si accompagneranno con la casa di Giacobbe.
2 Peoples wil take them and escort them home, and the House of Israel wil take them as slaves, menand women on Yahweh's soil. They wil enslave those who enslaved them and wil master their oppressors.	2 E i popoli li prenderanno, e li condurranno al luogo loro; e la casa d’Israele li possederà nella terra del Signore, per servi e per serve; e terranno in cattività quelli che li aveano tenuti in cattività, e signoreggeranno sopra i loro oppressatori.

5 Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of rulers,	5 Il Signore ha rotto il bastone degli empi, la verga de’ dominatori.
6 furiously lashing peoples with continual blows, angrily hammering nations, pursuing without respite.	6 Colui che con furore percoteva i popoli di percosse, che non si potevano schivare, il qual signoreggiava le genti con ira, ora è perseguito, senza che possa difendersi.
7 The whole world is at rest and calm, shouts of joy resounding,	7 Tutta la terra è in riposo, e quieta; gli uomini fanno risonar grida di allegrezza.
8 the cypresses, the cedars of Lebanon, rejoice aloud at your fate, "Now that you have been laid low, noone comes up to fell us."	8 Gli abeti ancora e i cedri del Libano si son rallegrati di te, dicendo: Da che tu sei stato atterrato, niuno è salito contro a noi, per tagliarci.
9 'On your account, Sheol below is astir to greet your arrival. He has roused the ghosts to greet you, althe rulers of the world. He has made al the kings of the nations get up from their thrones.	9 L’inferno disotto si è commosso per te, per andarti incontro alla tua venuta; egli ha fatti muovere i giganti, tutti i principi della terra, per te; egli ha fatti levare d’in su i lor troni tutti i re delle nazioni.
10 They will all greet you with the words, "So, you too are now as weak as we are! You, too, havebecome like us.	10 Essi tutti ti faranno motto, e diranno: Anche tu sei stato fiaccato come noi, e sei divenuto simile a noi.
11 Your pride has been flung down to Sheol with the music of your lyres; under you a mattress ofmaggots, over you a blanket of worms.	11 La tua alterezza è stata posta giù nell’inferno, al suono de’ tuoi salteri; e si è fatto sotto te un letto di vermini, e i lombrici son la tua coverta.
12 How did you come to fal from the heavens, Daystar, son of Dawn? How did you come to be thrown tothe ground, conqueror of nations?	12 Come sei caduto dal cielo, o stella mattutina, figliuol dell’aurora? come sei stato riciso ed abbattuto in terra? come sei caduto sopra le genti, tutto spossato?
13 You who used to think to yourself: I shal scale the heavens; higher than the stars of God I shall setmy throne. I shal sit on the Mount of Assembly far away to the north.	13 E pur tu dicevi nel cuor tuo: Io salirò in cielo, io innalzerò il mio trono sopra le stelle di Dio, e sederò nel monte della raunanza, ne’ lati di verso il Settentrione.
14 I shal climb high above the clouds, I shal rival the Most High."	14 Io salirò sopra i luoghi eccelsi delle nuvole, io mi farò somigliante all’Altissimo.
15 Now you have been flung down to Sheol, into the depths of the abyss!	15 Pur sei stato calato nell’inferno nel fondo della fossa.
16 'When they see you, they will scrutinise you and consider what you have become, "Is this the manwho made the world tremble, who overthrew kingdoms?	16 Quelli che ti vedranno ti riguarderanno, e ti considereranno dicendo: È costui quell’uomo che facea tremare la terra, che scrollava i regni?
17 He made the world a desert, he level ed cities and never freed his prisoners to go home."	17 Il quale ha ridotto il mondo come in un deserto, ed ha distrutte le sue città, e non ha sciolti i suoi prigioni, per rimandarli a casa?
18 Al other kings of nations, al of them, lie honourably, each in his own tomb;	18 Tutti quanti i re delle genti giacciono in gloria, ciascuno in casa sua.
19 but you have been thrown away, unburied, like a loathsome branch, covered with heaps of the slainpierced by the sword who fal on the rocks of the abyss like trampled carrion.	19 Ma tu sei stato gittato via dalla tua sepoltura, come un rampollo abbominevole; come veste di uccisi, trafitti dalla spada, che scendono alle pietre della fossa; come un corpo morto calpestato.
20 'You wil not rejoin them in the grave, for you have brought your country to ruin and destroyed yourpeople. The offspring of the wicked leave no name behind them.	20 Tu non sarai aggiunto con coloro nella sepoltura; perciocchè tu hai guasta la tua terra, tu hai ucciso il tuo popolo; la progenie dei malfattori non sarà nominata in perpetuo.
21 Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their father! Never again must they rise to conquer theworld and cover the face of the earth with their cities.	21 Preparate l’uccisione a’ suoi figliuoli, per l’iniquità de’ lor padri; acciocchè non si levino, e non posseggano la terra, e non empiano di città la superficie del mondo.
22 'I wil rise against them, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, and deprive Babylon of name, remnant, offspringand posterity, declares Yahweh.	22 Io mi leverò contro a loro, dice il Signor degli eserciti; e sterminerò a Babilonia nome e rimanente, figliuolo e nipote, dice il Signore.
23 I shal turn it into the haunt of hedgehogs, a swamp. I shal sweep it with the broom of destruction,declares Yahweh Sabaoth.'	23 E la ridurrò in possession di civette, e in paludi di acque; e la spazzerò con iscope di distruzione, dice il Signor degli eserciti
24 Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn it, 'Yes, what I have planned wil take place, what I have decided will beso:	24 IL Signor degli eserciti ha giurato, dicendo: Se egli non avviene così come io ho pensato; e se la cosa non è messa ad effetto, secondo il consiglio che io ho preso;
25 'I shal break Assyria in my country, I shal trample on him on my mountains. Then his yoke wil slip offthem, his burden wil slip from their shoulders.'	25 che è, di romper l’Assiro nella mia terra, e di calcarlo sopra i miei monti; talchè il suo giogo sia rimosso da essi, e il suo incarico d’in su le loro spalle.
26 This is the decision taken in defiance of the whole world; this, the hand outstretched in defiance of alnations.	26 Quest’è il consiglio preso contro a tutta la terra; e questa è la mano stesa contro a tutte le genti.
27 Once Yahweh Sabaoth has decided, who wil stop him? Once he stretches out his hand, who canwithdraw it?	27 Perciocchè il Signor degli eserciti ne ha preso il consiglio; e chi l’annullerebbe? e la sua mano è quella che è stesa; e chi la farebbe rivolgere?
28 In the year Ahaz died came this proclamation:	28 Questo carico fu rivelato nell’anno che morì il re Achaz.
29 Al Philistia, do not rejoice because the rod which used to beat you is now broken, for the serpentstock wil produce a viper, its offspring wil be a flying dragon.	29 NON rallegrarti, o Palestina tutta, di ciò che la verga di colui che ti batteva è stata rotta; perciocchè dalla radice della serpe uscirà un basilisco; e il suo frutto sarà un serpente ardente, e volante.
30 While the first-born of the poor are grazing and the destitute are resting in safety, I shall make yourstock die of hunger and then slaughter what remains of you.	30 E i primogeniti de’ poveri pastureranno, e i bisognosi giaceranno in sicurtà; ma io farò morir di fame la tua radice, e colui ucciderà il tuo rimanente.
31 Howl, gate! Shriek, city! Totter, all Philistia! For a smoke is coming from the north, and there are nodeserters in those battalions.	31 Urla, o porta; grida, o città; struggiti, o Palestina tutta; perciocchè viene un fumo dal Settentrione; e niuno se ne starà in disparte a’ tempi ordinati di esso.
32 What reply wil be given then to the messengers of that nation? - That Yahweh founded Zion andthere the poor of his people will find refuge.	32 E che risponderassi agli ambasciatori delle nazioni?
